  • Solar MPPT stands for maximum power point tracker, which is an electronic system designed for optimizing the varying power output from a solar panel module such that the connected battery exploits the maximum available power from the solar panel. We are going to design our own MPPT charger using low cost dc to dc converters with simplified rearrangements of circuits.

    Can the battery be connected to the output of the buck converter all the time? Even with no solar going in. Or would a diode be needed?

      Diode is needed minimum 15Amps or more 5amps in parallel

    This would have to be done with a micro circuit programmed comparing voltage and currant for MPPT purpose. I use one of those 20A buck converters to reduce the voltage from a 60 cell panel 35v to 13.8v. Works good but MPPT would be great.

    Hi, nice video. do you measure the input current of this dc dc convert with no load output? (self consumption). And 2nd part?

    mera two 50watt solar panal se buck convertor output max 4 volt harahe increase nai horahe....what is the problem.....

      Make it series connection and try without any other alteration work, keep watching

      The converter will accept upto 30Volt maximum input, In next video will give you the solution up to 60volt input thanks for watching
