One week later and he'll have made the automaton from The Invention of Hugo Cabret out of Lego.
I do not know what that is but I’m sure it was something really impressive so I like it
Doubt it, he likes to keep things minimalistic wherever possible. It has a better impact with Lego.
isn't the automanton georges melies' invention?

Bro this dude is finding out everything with legos. Dude has gotta be the CEO of Lego.
Thank Christ I found this! I haven’t been able to draw for years
Wow great idea! Unfortunately I did not have the parts 😞
This is awesome! I’m learning about this stuff in my introduction to engineering design class as a sophomore. I’m currently making an automaton that has two cams in it. This in in particular is amazing because it’s literally making its motion graph for you.

Lego mechanisms are so satisfying 😊
Look at those mounds, mountains is what I meant.

Ah, yes, this Lego construction shows you approximately how far up it goes due to the mechanisms involved in it's creation.
Honestly love whenever someone makes some kind of cool contraption like this out of Legos
This is representing the Fourier series! Oh god! This is brilliant!
This is also a great way to represent input in an analog computer

Imagine being shown this and breaking it down in Math Class. Wow Maybe then people might be willing to enjoy Math again... I hated this shit in School cause they Refused to address Application of the Math in some of the higher end stuff. If you don't apply it to something Theory is a Waste of time.. Sorry didn't mean to get on a OT soap box. Neat work as usual.
Agreed. btw, if you used a circle offset on a crank as the cam, you'd get a perfect sine (or cosine) wave. Way easier to visualize than sohcahtoa.
@Ryandal Gilmore nobody asked for your opinion.
this is less math and more engineering
School is made to teach people to show up, sit down, be quiet, and do mundane boring tasks . . . Like factory, or office work.
