Damn....i bought heavy duty 3" bed risers for my two cabs at $50 a set....but i would've went with the 6" riser(s) if i'd known about this product. I'm only 5'6 so it's not an issue for me, but i've got some tall friends.
Michael B, Riser Boosters are AWESOME! I bought mine from a store called Arcade Mod Up and they are 7". This made Big Buck World better to play, not to mention my Midway Legacy Defender Variant, which I can see the whole screen now standing in front of it! Arcade Mod Up can also do custom graphics on them and they look great! They are pretty much the same price, $80 a piece, and are built differently, they are wider to fit the riser inside of instead of flush, but are a welcome addition to the arcade :) Arcade Mod Up also made a kit to raise the control panel on the Midway and Capcom Legacy cabs so you don't have that lip on both sides and it is great as well! Thanks for sharing this brand and have a great day! vgv
This seems like a great product, but too expensive for me. I’m building some platforms out of 2x4’s and 3/4” mdf, total cost around $50 for 2 6 ft long platforms that can house 5-6 A1ups. I do agree with the height issue, at 6’1 I can only play standing for a few minutes before I’m on a stool. I prefer to stand up.
I am only 5' 7" and I found the Dragons lair controls to low so I got the 4" and it made DL perfect for me. I also got one for Star Wars as well and it is great. I am to short to put them on the Gen 1 and similar cabs. MAybe a 2" solution for those in the future.
Awesome review! I just ordered the 4 inch extender for my Big Blue , we'll see if it does the trick given the slanted control panel. I'm curious if its best to take off the little white feet from the riser? Some of the pics on the website seem to show that they are left on and I was wondering if that causes any stability issues? Thanks again for the great work and as always, Stay clean and game on my brotha!
True. They cost a bit compared to the hardware provided, but free shipping I think which you'd have to factor in. Also you literally just place the riser on this booster and it fits perfect. Saves time if you're not overly handy with wood - the small place pieces inside the larger pieces. I likely couldn't do it myself.
Let start by saying awesome video as always Micheal B and great topic.. However, this wouuld been great during wave one because there are products that are much cheaper then riser booster! For example on amazon had an item that call bed riser (that come in 3, 5 & 8 inches) and which prices range from 11.99 to 36.99 compare to 80 dollars Canadian which exchange to 64.00 dollars USD! Two, bed riser are much more durable then the riser booster because we (audience) dont know what the life expectancy and material made of when come to riser booster! i am not here knock your video in any way but there more conventional ways to boost your A1U Cabients especially the outrun and big buck hunter cab ! When introduced an new product, I would look all products that relate to the topic, so everyone can feel that you found the best price and product that fix the need of every arcade enthusiast especially when the prices of an Arcade1up Cabinet had risen up by 250.00 dollars..
Problem is those bed risers are ugly as all heck under the cab imo. From what i've seen they go for about 30 bucks with shipping all together. For another 15 to 20 bucks these riser boosters look much much better. You wanna play, you gotta pay my friend lol. I just payed 56$ flat free shipping. Not too bad at all.
Thanks Michael. These are perfect! I was thinking about building something, but not anymore! How comfortable is it to play on a stool while using these two riser boosters (at your height)? Thanks!
Did you try the booster out with Big Blue? I'm 6ft and feel its really not playable comfortably standing up, also the control deck sits even lower with the slant. I think it would benefit from one of these.
I didn't have big blue when i shot the footage sadly but it would work and lift both the control panel and screen up 4 or 6 inches and honestly they both could use it
Is there any issue with tipping? I don't want to connect the cabinet to the standard riser, but will this make it even more unstable as it lifts the center of gravity? Thanks.
@@zro2gon Sadly, no one can compete with Chinese manufacturing in quantities of scale when making custom products. I don't think these products are for me. I'm several inches taller than you and I've just accepted that I have to play these things sitting on a stool.
Hi Guys, thanks for watching. Is the Buy Stuff Arcade Riser Booster something you are interested in?
I was thinking of getting one for my Big Buck Hunter after enjoying them for my Legends Ultimate. Now I'm going to get one for sure.
I can’t help but think of those Xzibit memes “we heard you like risers, so here’s a riser for your riser” 🤣🤣🤣
I own the MK Legacy cabinet, and watching your video sold me on this - I just ordered one!
Yep! Me too!
A riser, for my riser! It's like going back in time!
Got one for my Space Invaders. 6 inch. Perfect. Much more arcade feel. Just ordered the 5 inch for legends ultimate.
Just ordered through your link. @ just above 5'9" I ordered the 4" booster for my MKII Legacy. Thanks Mike!

Every now and then I try

Riser booster is def a must with the Legacy cabs, hopefully the new 4 player cabinets don't suffer from the same issues
A riser for out run sit down would be something i want.
Nice. Also some extra protection from flooding basements
I'm 5 11 and I raised my defender/midway legacy cab... you are spot on on the top 25% of the screen!!

I have their Legends Ultimate riser and it’s fantastic- great guys, great store. Can’t say enough good things about them
Hah. When this started playing I thought I clicked a "That Chapter" video. Damn, Michael B branching into murder mysteries.
I bought one of these six inch risers. Works great with Buck Hunter!

$62 for a product made from $10 worth of wood? Lol. These should not be priced higher than a regular arcade1up riser

They should offer a discount for a bundle for us collectors.
Thanks Mr. Game Genie - great review as always!
You are most welcome
They’re a masterpiece of wood and laminate!!!!! Honestly, this is why God invented trees.
Who needs o2?
Great job and review; BSS makes fantastic products!

Very comfortable at both heights

I personally use 3" "bed risers" off Amazon for like $16-18. They work perfectly to lift the cabs a bit and work great IMHO
Is there any issue with tipping? I don't want to connect the cabinet to the standard riser, but will this make it even more unstable as it lifts the center of gravity? Thanks.
So now we're buying wood to put on top of more wood?
Hahaha My next video is for the Riser Booster Extender
A little extra height would be nice.
Just build your own for cheaper. Or just build a 6 inch platform .
These riser are way over priced
Exactly. These are priced more than an Arcade1up riser.
