I know this is old, but it really is a shame that both big and small artists are essentially screwed when it comes to selling their stuff. I'm just as guilty as the next guy, I haven't bought any kind of physical media in quite a while, but I do try to keep the thievery to only large corporations when possible. Going to see artists live (music, stand up, whatever it is that you like) is probably the only way they're going to make money, and in most cases is the best way to experience it anyway. It's weird though, there's an overload of every kind of entertainment. You can't turn your head without seeing something trying to pry that dollar out of your hand... most of it sucks, but there's definitely not a shortage of ways to waste time.

Most people wouldn't have any sympathy for celebrities or comics, but I think you're right..

I agreed with this until I found out how much that they eaten from companies like Netflix.
Paychecks 1-80 Million from 1 special is not too shabby. I don't think anyone has made that in CD sales.
I think Dave Chappelle was given the most (probably after you posted this)
The sad thing is once they get that big check they seem to disappear. They only come back after they are broke or divorce.
