Right handed player: If I switch to left it feels like I loose all visual connection with the weapon, losing all the feedback and it negatively impacts the recoil, tapping, spraying, moving, counter-strafing, jumping, nade throws. Just about everything
I'm a left-handed player, I've never played with the left hand model. Maybe because in CS it's just... mirrored? And weird? Centered view for true gamers.
Its the same for me, just oposite, The viewmodel is usually more of which eye is most dominant, my right eye is more dominant so I see details etc better with the right eye, therefore if I have it on the right side, it just feels obstructive to me
I can tell you rn that my friend figured out that his eyesight was right dominant, meaning he sees better on the right side, so when he changed the viewmodel to the left, it made him so much better at the game
I’m left eye dominant, and I play cs on right hand view model and I hit 17k elo, I’m also diamond on valorant but play left hand view model on there. I also play right handed but I’m left handed. I think it’s just whatever makes you feel comfortable like he said.
I played lefthand view model for almost all of my 2.5k hours in csgo. When I heard cs2 doesn't even let you choose your preferred side, I outright refused to play the game. Started cs2 for the first time last November. Happy to play again, although there is still a lot of stuff to be done just to get back to the quality of csgo. Looking forward to see where valve is taking the game and we as a community should remember that, although valve are slow af, they usually get it done eventually.
I'm a left handed, left eye dominant player who plays right handed and I've never in my life seen a noticeable difference between the left and right handed view models. But if it makes you happy and it's what you prefer then more power to you!
Ok, didn't really expect to be jumpscared by my video being featured in a Score esports video, but here we are. Really happy that Dimitri was the host for this one :)
This is crazy for me because I have cross dominance. In baseball I pitched and batted left, but I write and punch with my left hand. Kickball? Right foot. Now doing the eye dominance test I see that my left eye is the dominant side. But I hold the mouse with my right hand. My shit is all fucked up.
Doing tasks right handed is fairly common for lefties in tasks where doing them left handed isn't an easy option. The PC you learned at likely had a right handed mouse so holding it in your left hand just felt weird. It's the same for a lot of instruments, some sports equipment (I.e. kayaking) and even basic utensils like peelers or scissors.
I think it really comes down to what feels natural. My guess is for Woxic as someone who lives left handed it feels more natural to him, where as for Dennis that may not be something his brain thinks about while playing right handed as a left handed person and so it feels natural to him. I am right hand and eye dominant and normally play right handed but use the ability to swap situationally when I want less on my screen when trying to look to the right, that may be a placebo as well but it's what feels natural to me.
I’m right handed and while I generally keep the view model on the right, I use both view models depending on which side of the screen I need a clear view of. I haven’t perceived any significant difference in performance between the sides in my years of doing this through GO and now to CS2, but I think that probably has to do with focusing more on my crosshair than my view model while spraying. I feel like that may be a key factor for how comfortable someone feels between the two sides.
its due to which eye you're dominant on , for me my aim actually dipped a lot when right hand was the only option , but once left hand was added the aim came back to what it was before the change from faceit level 9 (csgo) to faceit level 6 (cs2) then back to 9 (cs2)
Back in the days of 1.6 I've switched to lefthanded model, because it was much harder to spray with that for me. And that forced me to learn shooting 2-3 bullets which seemed better. I've eventually learned to spray with that as well and never switched to righthand back again. Lefthand in CS2 was a huge gamechanger for me as I was literally unable to play the game before that.
as a person who have the advantage of both hands being dominant. the left side of the gun works best for me the most since my right eye is the most dominant. i can work it out with right no problem but i prefer left handed combat.
If I switch to left from right i go from 15000 to 3000. Same happened for me with LoL when they replaced hand cursor with arrow. Your brain is simply not used to different things like that.
i have a theory, imaging a line connecting the crosshair and the gun model and the gun model is the "pivot point", kinda like a Y-axis on the gun side. Thats why i was always asking "Do pro players control the crosshair and the gun model just happens to move with it? or does pro players control the gun model and the crosshair just happen to move with it?" ex. aim trainers with or without a gun model, feel is totally different (for me atleast)
You know another crazy thing, the gun covers a good portion of the screen if i want to peek something that is to my right i would like my gun not to cover anything
placebo. my best friend (rest in peace amani) was left handed and played every game right handed. he did exceptional in everything. he never played cs so i wonder if hed like it if he had the chance.
I am right hand dominant but played with left viewmodels for 3000 hours and got used to it. Then with the switch to cs2 it felt wrong and the swap hands button wasn’t good enough.
It's absolutely matters, for me to day to day map to map and even weapon. If I'm anchoring m4a4 feels so good left hand along with awp. But ak feels superior on right hand. And I think it comes down to fights I'm taking right hand swinging right side etc.
I am left-handed and I don't understand right-handers using this (now, i understand, i'm left eye dominate). And yes, it affects my performance in CS not playing with my left hand.
Can you make a video about "view_recoil_decay" and how that command makes shooting feel so choppy? The default value is "18" but setting it to "999" makes spraying feel so smooth. Its a game changer. Go into a workshop map and try it out yourself. Please! We need this change in the game!
i change constantly when in game when I peek to left I switch to left hand and when right corner I switch to right hand, not sure if it helps with anything but I feel like the gun being outside the corner first when I peek helps with pre fire and as to not accidently shoot the walls of the corner Im peeking with
I hate the state of "bob" in CS2 now, it's only moving horizontally left and right. It's always makes me stuck in some doors or vents. I hope valve bring back "bob" with back and forth animation, it's way more better for me.
From CSGO they didn't port the anti-cheat. For fuck sake single digit bans daily when you can have up to 10 cheaters per game and it is a gamble to not have one
I just found out I'm left eye dominant (with right hand dominant), looks like I should stay at right side viewmodel. And I totally understand how viewmodel affects your aim, I shift my viewmodel to a bit center instead of the default rgiht side viewmodel I used for 800 hours and I have a hard time hitting an awp flick shot for like couple hours. I would image changing your viewmodel from left to right will mess up more of your ability to aim and flick.
Right handed player:

i have similar experience, i literally cant spray/recoil control when i switch hands, but i think i can awp and move fine with it
I'm a left-handed player, I've never played with the left hand model. Maybe because in CS it's just... mirrored? And weird? Centered view for true gamers.

@@Chasodey OG DOOM 1993/Quake 1 style is the GOAT :D

I wish they made fps games have the view model of squad, IMO best view model.
I’m left eye dominant, and I play cs on right hand view model and I hit 17k elo, I’m also diamond on valorant but play left hand view model on there. I also play right handed but I’m left handed. I think it’s just whatever makes you feel comfortable like he said.
love when Dimitri speaks about cs
I just wish he doesn't go off screen for some time and then come back as shemitei😅
I played lefthand view model for almost all of my 2.5k hours in csgo. When I heard cs2 doesn't even let you choose your preferred side, I outright refused to play the game. NGL that mental upswing for Woxic must have felt amazing for him. He must have felt like a weight was lifted off him.
I'm a left handed, left eye dominant player who plays right handed and I've never in my life seen a noticeable difference between the left and right handed view models. But if it makes you happy and it's what you prefer then more power to you!

I still miss "cl_bob_lower_amt" so much man, it really makes the game more comfortable to play. Like where is the problem?
I shift the gun out of the way and I have a cardboard cutout. It's the way.
mint and doki in the background... i see you...

you need a factory reset.

Being a lefty, seeing my character hold items the way I would have just feels more comfortable.

In csgo i had a bind whenever i strafe right my viewmodel was lefthanded and when i strafed left it was righthanded...very helpful on overpass

Just a few days ago I was thinking about Bob, then I stumble across this...and then realize they removed it.

I love it that the stickers are reversed if you are using left hand mode

Unrelated but I noticed the fantomethief concert and ina poster in the background. Good taste, guy who knows what he's talking about.
Thank you
We need cl_bob customization settings back
as a person who have the advantage of both hands being dominant. the left side of the gun works best for me the most since my right eye is the most dominant. i can work it out with right no problem but i prefer left handed combat.
bobcycle 0 is GODMODE
As a left-handed player, it feels much more organic for me to hold the gun on the left as well
4:12 the cheeky caption was "Fine."

I’m right handed but always use left view model unless I’m holding a certain angle. Right eye dominant.
I am right hand dominant but played with left viewmodels for 3000 hours and got used to it. Then with the switch to cs2 it felt wrong and the swap hands button wasn’t good enough.
Now we need “clear decal” command back
i was born left handed, it is still my dominant hand and i find playing left hand is easier sometimes
God I remember that Dennis ace and wilding when he hit that first 3k
It's absolutely matters, for me to day to day map to map and even weapon. If I'm anchoring m4a4 feels so good left hand along with awp. But ak feels superior on right hand. And I think it comes down to fights I'm taking right hand swinging right side etc.

Wow I always thought I was right eye dominant, turns out I am actually left eye dominant! Thanks for that video.
I pretty much always used left hand view model from the star of my playing cs and it was so rough playing cs2 in the beginning with right hand only
i change constantly when in game when I peek to left I switch to left hand and when right corner I switch to right hand, not sure if it helps with anything but I feel like the gun being outside the corner first when I peek helps with pre fire and as to not accidently shoot the walls of the corner Im peeking with
i play both viewmodels when it was GO until CS2 released without lefthand command, now i can spray/hit things with righthand model idk why XDD
My viewmodel is still pretty much in the middle 30% area Aware
I hate the state of "bob" in CS2 now, it's only moving horizontally left and right. It's always makes me stuck in some doors or vents. I hope valve bring back "bob" with back and forth animation, it's way more better for me.
I was told I could find Valorant replay system here
When i play with left view model. I feel like having mouse in left hand, cant hit a shot.😂
I have played left handed cs since 1.5 and since cs2 didnt have left hand I got used to right hand and not able to switch back to left hand now lol
Im left eye dom. So i wonder if this will help me to flip the view model. But right hand dom. 😂
Wow, honestly this made my day. Thank you!
I'm sorry to hear that
Left eye dominance gang
I'm sure they'll fix it by the time cs3 comes out
I'm a lefty, was British army and we only shoot right handed...I cant play CS on the left
left hand with deagle, AK, AWP - ALWAYS!
Im right handed left eye dominant. And also with slight myopia. Icant use a gun becauze of this. Ive tried shooting
im right handed yet im left eye dominait what kind of a freak am I?
why tf we're looking at tenz clips for half a video
I swap crosshairs all the time and it's nice
Im right handed but am left eye dominant and use lefty vm
From CSGO they didn't port the anti-cheat. For fuck sake single digit bans daily when you can have up to 10 cheaters per game and it is a gamble to not have one
Was I unsubscribed from this channel? I swear I should have been subbed for years now.. Huh.
I was always taught to play CS with your real-life handness dictating your viewmodel
Nah. Always been eye dominance
Plus a lot of OGs are just used to left hand viewmodel
Today I learned that I'm left eye dominant... 🤔
I prefer left hand view model.
The thumbnail kinda confused me for a sec. I thought the guy on it was named Bob
I didn't touch cs2 until they gave me my left viewmodel xD
I just found out I'm left eye dominant (with right hand dominant), looks like I should stay at right side viewmodel.

thanks bob
Can we stick to just callin it “shoulder swapping” like we do with 3rd person games ? It’s essentially the same thing .
I'm left-handed and right eye dominant. Wtf 😅
thanks
Hello CS2
im looking a year now for a surf map in cs2 community servers... its only bs
old bob was better man, bring it back
Shit take
@MeatBunFul it literally was. when they changed it, quite literally everyone hated it but got used to it just because they knew it wasn't coming back

Hello
Bob is not right or left hand? It’s how much the view model moves? Talk about piss poor research Jesus Christ. This guy supposedly plays cs?
You even watch the video?! Literally talks about that same thing like 2 mins in.
guy who knows might be actually epstein client ngl
This is bob. Copy and paste him so he can take over TH-cam.
