I've been watching this performance on TH-cam for years, it is probably my favorite lineup of talented musicians playing tempted with Glenn Tilbrook and the amazing saxophonist David Sanborn who sadly died today. We will definitely be missing him. RIP David Sanborn

It's hard to believe so much time has gone by so quickly.
I am 61 but can't understand where the time goes. It seems like just last week I was in my twenties. So sad to see him go. His work can be heard on many recordings. The stones miss you, David Bowie young American, and Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and many other Rock, blues, r&b, pop, jazz, and just about every😮 genre of popular music.

Plus, I think his voice is more distinctive. Also, I feel like they were going for more of an "American" sound so that they could gain popularity in the states. Carrack definitely provides that sound. Just my opinion though.

This song only went to #49 on the Billboard charts when it was released in '82.
But here, seven years later it is rightly recognized for the classic new wave torch song that it is!
The added sax and soul that is pumped into it here is how I've been hearing it in my head for nearly 35 years.
One of my faves to play sing or slip in to the CD in the car.

What a magnificent band. I look back on the 80s and realize what an embarrassment of riches the British gave us.

Either way all good and may I take this opportunity to ask all females from Haslington UK what there problem is with 1972?

I loved this live performance. Glenn's voice is so beautiful. The original version with Paul Carrack is a classic, but this live version sung by Glenn is wonderful. Glenn Tilbrook is an excellent musician, his perfect guitar and melodious voice are totally amazing.
