I saw on eBay that Presto used to make 9 cup electric percolators. Might have been the perfect size. Farberware also made 8 cup size, but they don't seem to be making them anymore and the reviews are more negative vs the Presto.

The pit in the bottom is aluminum per the company. Test that, not the nut. Seems the only choices are plastic-aluminum-plastic-aluminum....... or just switch to tea I guess.
