Dawn Sears is definitely one of the all time greatest country singers. If you're doubting that statement, search out her performances, with The Time Jumpers, of the Mickey Newbury song, Sweet Memories. I believe there are two videos here on TH-cam. The performances are a master class in singing - her pitch, phrasing, tone, and control are almost flawless. Often, it seems, people equate greatness with record sales and popularity. Dawn Sears may not have achieved the level of success of, say, Parton, Wynette, or Cline, but there is no getting around the fact Dawn Sears is, and will remain, one of country music's greatest singers. Rest in peace, rise in glory, Ms. Sears.
I cannot think of any singer or picker I would rather listen to that Vince Gill. Paul the steel player is a genius as well.
