- India paid its final respects to Ratan Tata, the iconic industrialist and chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, who passed away aged 86. The final rites were held with full state honours, with his mortal remains wrapped in the tricolour. Union Ministers, Maharashtra's Chief Minister, business honchos, and Tata Group employees were among those present. Speculation is rife over who will succeed Tata, with eyes on his half-brother Noel Tata. Ratan Tata's tenure marked a new standard for ethical business practices and community development.
