That fountain was the site where the slave auction block was. The old houses around downtown Montgomery have underground tunnels that went to the Alabama River. They say if you find the tunnels you can here the voices and cries of the slaves.
Jefferson Davis, the president of the confederate during the Civil War.....OK. Now can we let it go? As an Alabamaian, I am not proud of most of Alabama's history. MLK content added, so thanks for that.

Um, where have you been? 2020 was a pivotal year for the smart phone paired with social media that showed us that racism was never gone.....it is just getting filmed now. Hopefully we will see any change before I die.
I'm from Andalusia Alabama but in 1978 moved to Montgomery Ala.
