Do you know how long she leaves them alone between feedings? Does she bury them fully when she leaves to go eat herself? Watching this gives me a new perspective of the ordinary cottontail. So sweet!
I remember a year ago we were cutting the grass in our little backyard(it's right next to our deck, it's fenced) and we saw stuff moving in the ground. We found out they were rabbits(4). We let them be but we put a camera next to it to watch when the mom came back. I have 2 dogs(Frenchies) so we put up another gate to block them. One day I was in my room, and I noticed it started to rain. A lot. I went back to my homework and suddenly thought of the nest. I ran outside and the nest was filled with rain and 2 were trying to get out. So I had to get my mom to help. We got 3 out. One of them we found later in a pile of grass, covered in maggots so that one must've died earlier in the nest. We got as much of the old nest that we could and put the rabbits in a shoebox, and placed in on top of the old nest. Then we put a foldable table on top to prevent them from drowning again if it rained. Some weeks later, they left. We still see rabbits a lot, especially at night.

I don't know how did she let you approach that much whitout running away. last week I saw a wild rabbit on my grandpas farm land and I just looked at him for 1 sec from 10 m away and it just run very fast!
They're in a house so it's not too bad. I bet the glare from the window is blocking view, or the bunny mom is used to the house size so a little thing in the windo isn't too frightening. Lol, wild bunnies are fun tho. They can be trained to beg for food. Like dog food
I saw a rare bunny appearance in my park at night once, I tried to chase it but it wasn't fast enough the bunny was slow, then after a closer look it's a domesticated bunny left in the park...

I have a spot set up just to invite rabbits in the spring and they take advantage, but nature does take its course sometimes.
So amazing how they know exactly what to do! Doe knows when to go back and feed them, and kits know how to re hide themselves til she returns.

Also, if you're cutting grass always check for rabbit nests, you don't want killing baby rabbits on your conscience.
