I did something similar with the SteelSeries Merc Stealth keyboard. This keyboard has a separate set of keys, fully programmable, and boy did I use it good. Everything you normally do with a double or triple key combination like Ctrl-C I did with a single keypress. It also has a very nice bonus that the key shapes are actually different: round keys, square keys, inset and outset, different size and even coating (some are smooth, some are soft-touch). Ah, those were the times! There is only one problem with that. No succession. Once your keyboard broke, or your OS got updated, the keyboard software no longer works, and you cannot buy replacement. You can buy OTHER keyboard, or a keypad, but every time its all over again from the scratch. This is the biggest problem I have with these, and there seem to be no solution so far.
Is it gonna affected by synergy app? I want this unit only controlled by a OS that is directly connected to it via USB. So, it's not gonna manipulated by synergy app, is it?
Hi I was wondering if this pad is wireless ? There's a smaller version of this pad that is commonly sold as the "Megalodon Triple Knob Macropad" online and the wireless specific version of the Doio Triple Knob Macropad has received all kinds of negative reviews because reviewers claim the wireless functionality does not work and the manufacturer (Doio) does not have proper instructions. I am really looking to use this pad wirelessly and wanted to know if these such problems might exist? Below are some of the main issues I've read about from the negative reviews users have provided for the wireless Doio Macro Pad: --1) Auto-detect doesnt work in VIA software --2) Users must use firmware version 1.3.1 in VIA for the wireless pad with no guarantee it will actually work or be upgradeable beyond that --3) no VIAL firmware is available --4) Macros only support 4 keystrokes or less in wireless whereas the wired pad doesnt have this limitation --5) The time out of the macropad is too quick and the user is unable to adjust/customize the sleep timer which causes the pad to go to sleep/turn off in too short of a time --6) Inability to manually power off the macropad, so every button press can turn the device on. If you throw it into a bag, it will constantly be turning on and draining the battery Can you tell me if these issues are present on your Wireless Doio Pad? Maybe you can do a review that touches on these aspects if the reviews are right or wrong? Would really appreciate your thoughts. Here's the source for the negative reviews on the Wireless Doio Pad if you want to verify any of this: www.keebmonkey.com/products/megalodon-triple-knob-wireless-macro-pad Thanks very much
Hey, those are all good questions but mine is wired and I have only used their wired versions so sadly I can't really answer your questions. But I can confirm that it uses the old VIA version and you need to manually.
@@itssamueltan oh yours is wired ok, when you say you can confirm it uses the old VIA version, when you said "it" do you mean the wireless macro pad or the wired macro pad?
be aware that while it is wireless it still has a USB adapter - which complicates things if you have a mac with just usb C ports.. (saw the USB dongle on ebay in the add pictures). i have a Huion macropad, 18 keys and 1 knob - wireless but WITH a usb dongle that i did not know about - really dissapointed it is not... just BT without dongle..
Hey. Does the acrylic base sound hollow when you knock on it or touch it? I have the 16key macropad and the top feels solid but the acrylic base feels very light, empty, and even slightly cheap. Thanks for the review!
It's South Facing at 2:55 and 3:40 I said North facing, sorry about that mix up.

Yeah sadly that the case. But now with QMK/VIA and some software magic most macropads are pretty good
Can use in ipad pro m2? I want to use for editing in davinci resolve
Tbh I'm not so sure, but you will need to program the keys with VIA with your computer first for it to be able to work

Hey I don't think so, unless u program it with QMK/VIA to work as a mouse.
the 3 usb ports are probably so you can decide where the cable is
Yea most probably
Do you have the link for the type-c wire from the video?
Sorry no
@@itssamueltan im talking about that vended wire the connected to the keyboard

The acrylic base can kinda feel hollow but that's just the nature of the material, maybe you can try the tape mod or adding some foam to help
@@itssamueltan I see.. thanks for the reply! :)
What's that yellow plastic thing for?
0:33 switch and keycap puller
Can you use it for DaVinci resolve?
Depends how good are you with programming the macropad in QMK/Via
Where can I find instructions for VIA to assign one of the rotary buttons to scrub in something like Premiere Pro? Thanks!
so it comes without the keys?
Yeap barebones
is it wired only?
You can check their site, they are releasing wireless versions but I'm not sure if it's available yet
I wish there were cheaper versions of this
There is, but not as high quality materials
