I feel like the VA didn't even mean to put such emphasis on "traumatic". His accent made it come out that way and it sounds perfect😆

Based on what I heard, it seems like the issue that Japanese VA's have with English is knowing when to pause between words.
@@Max25670 it's probably difficult when it's just phonetically spelled out in Katakana and they read it off without context and understanding, what to emphasize, length of pauses between different words, etc.
Fun fact: they got a seiyuu who is a native speaker of British English to voice that player from England, hence why he sounded so fluent

I appreciate that Isagi has been able to retain his confidence. Other series have the MC constantly going through waves of self pity and doubt. But even though he has these moments, Isagi also does still believe in himself.

I love how this show illustrates the frustration of loosing better than almost any sports anime, if you think about it, nothing is over for our characters, they can still pull through with no problems, they're probably frustrated about losing isagi but you can tell that what really makes them furious is that they tried their absolute best, they couldn't have done it better, and yet still lost
for me it's blue lock and haikyuu that shows this the best- the emotions of loss are so well done in both of them

French Kid is obviously Mbappe
The Brit has to be based off Harry Kane
Spain player maybe loosely based on Niguez
The Brazilian and Argentinian can't really come up with comparisons.
These comparisons also make sense based on the timing of when Blue Lock was written.
The French kid is confirmed by the author to just straight up be an Mbappe insert down to his good natured personality. In the manga Loki (the Mbappe insert) is the one to break up the rah rah the other World Five members were doing tellin the others to play nice, and was polite to all the Blue Lock guys.

well, mbappe's full name is kylian mbappe lottin. loki is really just a thinly veiled missspelling of lottin. also, somewhat surprised about the good natured personality. i don't keep up too much with soccer myself, but from what i've seen he has a bit of a temper, doesn't he? I watched a couple compilations and he received at least a couple red cards because of bad sportmanship.

Actually either way I believe Isagi would’ve chosen Bachira. Isagi not choosing to get bachira back was just what Nagi thought and wanted to happen. "just barely won" has never been a thing in any competition. There is winning and losing. Any what ifs, almosts, etc can be thrown in the trash and in the rare instance of a draw it should always be played out until a clear winner is declared or only one side is standing.

In the world of BL yeah that's how it works, but it's definitely not how it works in real sports lol. If two teams are tied after 120 minutes and the winner is decided by penalties which are well known as just being a tie breaker and nothing more than that then yes, one of those teams would end up barely winning.
It's fine to admit that sometimes you barely won to the point it doesn't even feel like a victory, that frustration makes you stronger and gives you motivation. Actually, that's straight up what happened with Rin.
