When Ichigo shot and it moved around in an unpredictable pattern with zero spin it’s called a knuckleball. In football, when you hit the valve of the ball with power a certain way it’s possible to create zero/minimal spin on the ball forcing it to move around unpredictably. The most know player for doing this is probably Cristiano Ronaldo. Hope that helps you understand it a little bit.
bro y'all seen this in haikyuu when yamaguchi serves no spin makes the ball movement unpredictable so It's not an anime thing this happens In real football as well trying to have that no spin effect is a good thing when shooting
That spin on the kick that ichigo did is actually a legit thing in real life! it's called a knuckle-ball and has the same premise as the 'floater' in volleyball/haikyuu
All the moves shown in Blue Lock are real, obviously some rarer than others but they have all been done before. Even Gagamaru's diving kick, called scorpion kick, its been done more than once by a GOALKEEPER ( René Higuita ).
As somebody who trained freestyle football for a long time, it was nice to see that the creator knows all the famous moves like the Air Elastico that Ronaldinho did in the famous Joga Bonito commercial. Bachira is Ronaldinho anime version lol. Also that goal from Kunigami is actually a real shooting technique called Knuckle Ball, really hard to learn tho.
@@marceloeduardotorres9160 English please. can you not reply in a different language so i can actually what the heck you're saying? lol. i've seen you do it under multiple comments
That whole sequence of Bachira taking the ball down the field hitting a air elastico and rainbow flick and then scoring the goal with a rabona was just *chef's kiss*
Kunigamis shot was a knuckle ball. Essentially he hit a specific part of the ball with power which makes the ball not spin while travelling in the air. The movement of the ball becomes unpredictable and it can occasionally change direction drastically just like kunigamis shot. Hope this helps 👍🏽
I love that Nagi is barely started playing soccer and he's so damn good that he genuinely doesn't understand how someone who's been playing much longer than him isn't nearly as good as him. He's so talented that he's genuinely clueless. lol
I love this series so much as Football/Soccer fan. That Nagi bicycle kick goal literally just happened in the Brazil V Serbia game last week by Richarlison. Even Bachira’s skill moves or Kunigamis’s knuckle ball are crazy things that real players do in games. Bachira channeled Messi and Kunigami turned into Ronaldo this episode.
Nah i think Bachira is more to Ronaldinho or Neymar. Messi is prolly the greatest dribbler of all time but he barely does stepovers and let alone a rainbow. He only uses body feints and la croqueta.
A soccer shot with no spin behaves the same as volleyball's no spin jump floaters. They change direction randomly because they are more affected for the environment conditions. Remember "Yamagucci" from Haikyuu?
7:00 This is actually a real thing... A powerful kick with no spin on the ball can produce an unpredictable and delayed effect on the ball similar to those plastic supertele balls we used to play with as kids on the beach and similar
Y'all forget about Yamaguchi's floater serve? The premise is that when a ball has no spin it's movements become unpredictable. This is done in real life in both soccer and volleyball
A ball tends to move erratically when it has no spin because of the drag force on it. That's why you'll see a similar pattern of motion in baseball with a knuckleball or a floater in volleyball.
Kunigami's shot, think haikyu's jump floater (u know, the gucci serve 🙃). If the ball has no spin and it's going at a high speed, then all the air going against it, has no natural tendecy to go around in the it in a specific way, instead it's constantly changing very slight how it does so, making ball movement erratic and making it look like the ball is "vibrating".
Kunigamis goal was something called a knuckle ball. The same way the ball just moved out the way last second it happens like that in real life if u hit the ball right and don’t follow through to have 0 spin
Nagi is basically a toddler when it comes to knowing about soccer. It's just that he is a god damn prodigy who does everything like a monster even while being clueless. Now , imagine him genuinely training himself towards a higher goal .
The rare occasion that I didn't mind slightly weird 3D animation being inserted in certain scenes and that strange time-saving slide thing they did in Chigiri vs Zantetsu Pt 2, bc you know they put all of this episode's budget into animating that Bachira sequence.
6:50 What happened was essentially like a floater, like you have seen in Haikyuu. When a ball has no spin on it, the movement becomes extremely unpredictable and wild. In some instances the range of sporadic movements can extent to meters. It’s near impossible to read a floaters movement, so all you can rely on is your reflexes to follow it. Didn’t know it worked on soccer too tho
@Lupa 7:00 you literally watched the entirety of haikyuu and saw countless jump floaters, which is serves with no spin that float unpredictably - and you question that a football can do the same thing when it has no spin? jeesh.
The ball doesn't need to spin in order to curve! it's an extremely hard move- yet physically possible! I used to be able to do it in high school all the time! it's super fun!
the shit ichigo pulled off was a knuckle- ball, it's an actual move in football. Ronaldo is known for his knuckle ball free kicks the way the ball moves when he does it is unreal lmao.
I liked how that monk guy called out the genius weakness, in that because he doesn't necessarily care about soccer, he needs that other guy to tell him what to do. But I bet after this, he is actually gonna try to be the best striker.
the ball no spin isnt really "just" anime, its like a knuckle ball in baseball where if the ball has no spin the balls trajectory becomes unpredictable because of the air resistance
The knuckleball is such a high-tier technique and hard to pull off. The ball floats in the air and can go all over the place. Keepers have nightmares with the unpredictability.
What Kunigami did is called a knuckle ball. Kick the ball with little to no spin. A spin gives the ball a set trajectory so without it the ball is flactuates in a zig zag.
btw when it had no spin it moved because it wasnt cutting through the air and so it wobbled because the air was pushing on the ball causing it to move (i think)
It's the beggining of the jigsaw puzzles anime people, from now onwards, whenever you think of blue lock, all you'll able to see is isagi's brain exploding into those damn jigsaw pieces 🤣
The second goal scored was a knuckle ball a legit thing. A goalies worst fear at mid range because of the unpredictability of the ball's direction. That thing can go up and down or side to side. Since they're not goalies, no way he would've been ready for it.

So there is a trick to shooting you can do to get the ball to wobble like that. Basicly you have to hit it with your shoe laces, right at that elevated part on top of your foot. The shot does not create any spin which is why it dives like that. It´s not even exaggarated by a lot here compared to other things depicted. The in-term for the shot is "knuckle-ball".
