    So many helpful tips, thank you. I have found that colored tablecloths make it a little harder to see true colors on the canvas so I just use white or black tablecloths.

      Oh that's a good point, I never thought about that 🙂

    Thank you so much! I have been thinking for a long time to start this type of painting workshop. Your videos have been very helpful 🙏 can you please also give a rough idea on how much fee to charge for this type of class?

    • @HeatherCashArt
      @HeatherCashArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you, so glad you liked it! I usually do $25 per painter for an 11x14. My friend Connie charges a little more, I think $30 for an 11x14 or $35 for larger painting. Also keep in mind I'm in Erie, PA, which has a low cost of living, so if you're somewhere like San Francisco you'd probably charge more.

      @@HeatherCashArt Thank you so much for your quick reply! That was very helpful. I am in Atlanta GA. I am thinking to do 8×10 for kids and may be bigger ones for adults. I work at this music and arts academy. I am thinking to do it there so the owner will charge me 30% as in rent.

    Which is better for a paint and sip? Tempera or acrylic paint. I'm about to host my first painting event

    • @HeatherCashArt
      @HeatherCashArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Acrylic paint 100%! You do not want tempera paints, that would be really bad quality for a paint n sip. Good luck on your first event!!!

    What do you do about floors to prevent damaging them?

    • @HeatherCashArt
      @HeatherCashArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I don't really do anything for the floors, however I think carpet is probably the only kind you'd really have to worry about. I've only taught at places that have either tile or vinyl or something similar. There have only been a handful of times that paint has gotten on the floor and I've been able to wipe it up easily. If it dries, it can be wiped with a wet paper towel or sponge if thin, or scraped off if thick. But since this happening is so rare I don't even think about it and just clean it up if it happens.

      I think my first class is going to be over carpet, so I am concerned. 😬

    • @HeatherCashArt
      @HeatherCashArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@celebrationstate hmm, I suppose if you're really worried you can get extra tablecloths or tarps to spread on the floor. But not the really thin kind, because I feel like those would create a tripping hazard. Or you can talk to the person hiring you, whoever owns the place, and ask them if they would want you to put down tarps. That's probably what I would do.

    Hello 👋 May I ask? I would like to start this business but I don't know how to draw so is it possible to start the business and ask them to draw from their mind??

    • @HeatherCashArt
      @HeatherCashArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I don't think so, people definitely need direction from what I've seen. But I would recommend watching some TH-cam videos of a similar nature, where they walk you through the painting step by step, and then you can get an idea of how to break down a picture into simple steps. The other option would be to work with an artist and have them teach, and you can do the business side of things.

    Styrofoam plates don't sound particularly ecological. Lot of plastic waste. Better vax paper one.

    Only problem I have with the choice of palette is that its a plastic throw away. Plastic is destroying our world. We need to do better for future generations. Yes No ?
