@tone167 Should See the Wipers On an MCW MetroBus. Absolutely amazing old things, If you have ever been to birmingham you will know the ones I mean but for all of the ones I have ever been on. I can never remember a Single one having the pantograph wipers in sync ever.
It must have been quite amusing to eavesdrop on HubNut explaining to the captain about his obsession with windscreen wipers and pleading for some action. Britain's fame for eccentricity lives on and flourishes!
You’re really excelling with the videos from NZ. Hopefully in years to come it will give you great memories of your antipodean adventure to look back on these videos. Keep up the good work, but take time to enjoy the expedition. 😄
The temptation of 3 giant pantograph wipers must have been too much to withstand :-) Very impressive if a bit sluggish. Stunning scenery and good smattering of random Toyotas, what fun. Cheers
This could have been pretty much any travelogue, but with the wiper action it was most definitely HubNut! Thanks again, Ian. I’m loving these NZ episodes.
Good video. Nice to see your varying things for us. Boat trip looked superb.Looking forward to seeing more of NZ in a way that could only be done by Hubnut.
Hehe, the wiper test on the ferry. By the way Ian, it's really a beautiful country. Nice trips to drive and the nature, really overwhelming. Enjoy, thanks for today's video and till tomorrow 😊
Thought you'd have tried out Russell RSA for a cuppa and a snack. Most RSA's (in Oz, and no doubt NZ) are very welcoming; a real community club feel to them. I think you'd feel at home with the vibe.
The more i see of New Zealand the more i like it. Absolutely beautiful and made even better by lovely polite people. All this plus added wiper action. I need a lie down. Only one complaint...no cat today! LOL.
Lovely stuff though I did notice an arc of sorrow on the central wiper. Stunning views once more and the beautiful turquoise water, almost makes one feel like rushing out for a Bounty.
Dolphins, wipers and stinking great V8’s.......$120 well spent!! The bay looked stunning incidentally! These videos are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us!!
The captain of the ferry must have thought you were an escapee from Gotham's Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane when you begged him to demonstrate the pantograph wipers of the ship, Ian! He was probably too scared to refuse your request. Great wipers, BTW.
Looks almost as windy as the tour up the River Dart 😂 gotta love HubNut wiper action - a lot of drippage there though! And Corners Of Misery there I feel 😂 great video
90 mile beach is a must, go on at Waipapakauri Ramp and travel up, (low tide) check out the tour buses lol. There is a good water blaster for public use at the Mobil garage in Kaitaia to wash your vehicle off after
Triple pantagraph wiper action! Wow. Make sure you do a whale watching trip from Kaikoura Ian. The boat there was an awesome catamaran 25 years ago when I was there. I'm sure it will be even more awesome now! Really enjoying your NZ vids - keep up the good work!
It’s great to see that you’re enjoying our beautiful Far North, Ian, keep it up. There’s another similar car ferry between Rawene and Kohukohu which will give you a longer ride than the Russell one; Rawene and Kohukohu are both fascinating little places. I hope you are going to see the Packard museum near Whangarei before you leave the north; it really is a “not to be missed” visit.
Always learning something new from Hubnut - apparently seagulls don't have red beaks and feet in the UK? Oh, and nice Sigma spot! (We had a locally made wider version as Mitsubishi Magna in OZ)
I did notice poles on the front of the boat sticking up from the bow, I think that is to make sure the vessel has the headroom that can squeeze through those gaps in the rock. Very cool.
Going to the other side of the world and still be enraptured by the very, very small joys of life - be they pantograph wipers or human kindness - such is the not at all deceptively simple art of living happily, and Ian nails it time and time again. And talking about looking for food: perhaps you could start your own simple eatery in one of those pleasant and simple Kiwi villages, and call it BunHut, only serving simple food. 'Your pièce de résistance' could be the HunBut, a roll in the form of a German situpon; or the TubHun, a roll in the form of a Teutonic bath duck with pike helmet; or the Uhntbu, a collection of unevenly mashed rolls.
I'm glad I discovered your channel mate I love watching your vids I had my car stolen my beloved astra vxr so been rather down you've cheered me up your observation on wipers made me laugh but I'm the same haha gotta have a good wiper system going on I relate to alot of stuff same as you with cars keep up the good work and I hope to meet you in any shows we may come across
Just like to say how much I am enjoying the videos from N.Z you seem to be having a good time, nostalgia time too with the citroen as many years ago I had one....can't wait for the next
Hi Ian, awesome video as they have been, what a pleasant place that Russell is,the boat ride looked really interesting to take, unfortunately no triangle of doom 😀, on the boat, the weather there is alot better than the UK 😂😂.
Triple pantograph wipers... you’re spoiling us Ian! Got to be worth the sixty quid fare for that alone. 😆 Loving the vlogs from NZ. Keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of your trip 👍
Very beautiful nature in there. Wiper-porn 😄 Like that you show those strange cars from parking lots to us, because those are daily-drive cars, much more interesting to see those also than only cars from the shows.
I hope you plan to visit Hobbiton and the area they filmed with all those mountains... Love Dolphins... Blimey, that was close with the boat... Haha, not triangle of doom? or corners of disappointment, lol... Happy Halloween... ;)
I wonder if that’s the same boat that they had in 1988 when I was there. Looks like it. We didn’t get to go through the hole due to the 2m swell. That Sigma was NZ new going by the plate O reg or early was before they deregulated the car market. I’ll shut up now as I’m sounding too nerdy.
It looks very much like a Richardson Devine Marine vessel built in Tasmania. There are a couple similar to this maybe slightly larger providing tours around Macquarie Harbour near Strahan Tassie.
As said before one of the best youtubers . Brilliant content and genuinely look forward to all your videos , and how many youtubers do you know who get wiper action on a boat!!
Please come to Hawkes Bay! Mid March 2020 is the British Car Show at Windsor Park, Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. If you're no longer in New Zealand try attending the car show at Trentham in Upper Hutt in early February 2020.
Phase displacement of the synchronous pantographic wipers and 30 gpm washers clearly made this video. Keep up the good work ! Noting regulations in mainstream aviation keep hubnuts out if cockpits, maybe NZ / Oz will yet turn up lighter aircraft screen clearance checking opportunity?
I hope you have a lovely trip in NZ and Aus Ian, think of the future, gone through a terrible divorce (is there a good one!) myself and to focus on the future the key to avoiding depression, same for all here. Love to all
The Sigma was Australian made, just down the road, well 20km from where I am in Adelaide, South Australia at the old Chrysler plant in the suburb of Tonsley Park. The engines were cast at Lonsdale just down the road from that, the origin of the 'Lonsdale' name used on some of your British imports.
Wiper demo, I bet the Captain's never had that request before, only HubNut! : )
Yeah, and if he has seen it, everything else looks perfect as well!
@@bernhardkuhn5676 No hooning around the Bay of Islands !

LMAO - wiper action on a boat. Only on HubNut!
I wish i could have been there to see the Captains face when you asked for a wiper demonstration
Triple. Pantograph. Wipers.
Seriously. That's final-level end-boss grade stuff. I really hope you haven't peaked too early!
He saw the dlc before it was released.
You’re really excelling with the videos from NZ. Hopefully in years to come it will give you great memories of your antipodean adventure to look back on these videos. Keep up the good work, but take time to enjoy the expedition. 😄
Cant even go on a boat trip without wiper action ,,!! Ian you are A star ,,!!
I really enjoyed "our" boat excursion. Feels like I'm having a holiday in New Zealand. Thank you. 🙂
The temptation of 3 giant pantograph wipers must have been too much to withstand :-) Very impressive if a bit sluggish. Stunning scenery and good smattering of random Toyotas, what fun. Cheers
Well we could easily go around but there's a hole, of course we've gotta go through it :)
Nice trip with bonus wiper action, what more could one ask.
Fantastic.... Triple pantograph action WITH washer demo!!!! No triangle of doom or corner of disappointment!! 😉👍
no... but I did see dribbles of dreariness.
Was itching to post “take some time for yourself” then you went and said it. Great content, enjoy sunny NZ.
Did that boat trip 6 years ago. Fantastic. Stumbled across an Aston Martin DBS (the Brett Sinclair one!) in Russell afterwards.
A gorgeous neck of the woods. Glad that you experienced this !!!
Great videos from NZ. Love the variety cars, cats, tourism and wipers! Enjoy your days off from filming :-)
Triple wiper action, Ian you are living the dream. Content output is phenomenal, enjoy some time off.
Hehe, the wiper test on the ferry. By the way Ian, it's really a beautiful country. Nice trips to drive and the nature, really overwhelming. Enjoy, thanks for today's video and till tomorrow 😊

I had no idea about them until someone mentioned them in the comments.
@tone167 RSL indeed. What's good enough for Mike Nolan, is good enough for me! 😉
Only Hub Nut would get us wiper action on a boat!!!
I wonder whether the Captain has ever had a request to show the wipers before?! Good show. Cheers
Judging by his expression, I'd say no...
Everybody: Hubnut on a boat , no wiper action.
Hubnut: Hold my cup of tea 😁
Wiper action...excellent. Loving the commentary and good humour. Enjoy yourself Mr HubNut
Brilliant with lots of lovely wiper action :-) great videos Mr Hubnut
Pronunciation of boat trip sounded perfect to me :). It looks just perfect there - I could be getting a little jealous !
The more i see of New Zealand the more i like it. Absolutely beautiful and made even better by lovely polite people. All this plus added wiper action. I need a lie down. Only one complaint...no cat today! LOL.
enjoying this thoroughly.. better then what is on tv !
Lovely stuff though I did notice an arc of sorrow on the central wiper. Stunning views once more and the beautiful turquoise water, almost makes one feel like rushing out for a Bounty.
Arc of sorrow!! LOL
I would have thought the captain would have got a round of applause for steering through that small orifice 👍👍👍
Dolphins, wipers and stinking great V8’s.......$120 well spent!!
The bay looked stunning incidentally!
These videos are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us!!

triple pantograph wipers: HubNut 2019
HA HA HA - Big ass wipers😆🤣 Loving this; proper Hubnut style 👍👍👍😉
Wow that was good seamanship !
Looks almost as windy as the tour up the River Dart 😂 gotta love HubNut wiper action - a lot of drippage there though! And Corners Of Misery there I feel 😂 great video
LOL I still can't believe you asked the captain for wipers actions! :P
90 mile beach is a must, go on at Waipapakauri Ramp and travel up, (low tide) check out the tour buses lol. There is a good water blaster for public use at the Mobil garage in Kaitaia to wash your vehicle off after

Truly amazing Ian! I'm so pleased you're sharing so much of your travels with us. Saves me a pricey plane ticket!
You have just got to love the wipers being more exciting than the dolphins - Only you Ian - Fantastic - Stephen
Love the thought you got the ship to use the wipers 😂😂
Loved the Pantograph Wiper action!
I never thought I would see three triangles of doom on a boat.
Awesome scenery. 😁

This is starting to become a lovely trip guide for NZ!
Ian,thank you for the fantastic tour of this beautiful North Island. We would not expect anything less from you for asking for some "WIPER ACTION".

@7:22, we got them as Galants here between A reg 83 and F89.
Are you having lunch in Russell or just a Pie Here (Piahia) ? 😆
You just couldn't resist it could. You had to have some boat wiper action but no triangle of Doom!!!!

Nice wiper footage there Ian!
I love how the ferry has a wash wipe function :) New blades needed though me thinks. Marvellous. :)
Love these video postcards!
loving the wiper action!
Great triple pantagraph action, Ian, at 5:37 "best ferry ride ever" Bloody hilarious!!
You know what we like Ian, of course we're enjoying it!
I was wondering if 'ferry' was really a bit insulting !
loveing the vids mate. that mitsubishi had a hint of the proton sport from the late 80s
Triple pantograph wipers... you’re spoiling us Ian! Got to be worth the sixty quid fare for that alone. 😆 Loving the vlogs from NZ. Keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of your trip 👍
I had a 1982 sapporo in the UK in the 90s two door coupe with 4 electric windows lovely looking car at the time wish I had it now
Some triple-pantograph wiper action - I was NOT expecting that! 🥰
Very cool.
The sting at the end is great.
Great video! Loving it!
Very beautiful nature in there.
Wiper-porn 😄
Like that you show those strange cars from parking lots to us, because those are daily-drive cars, much more interesting to see those also than only cars from the shows.
MGBetts1 I go between Aus and NZ,and some of the Jdm names still make me 😆
Keep up the great work. Saw the new vlog and couldn't click fast enough. Thanks for the great and random stuff.
Actually laughed out loud at the ferry wiper demo.
Wiper action. Love it.
I hope you plan to visit Hobbiton and the area they filmed with all those mountains... Love Dolphins... Blimey, that was close with the boat... Haha, not triangle of doom? or corners of disappointment, lol... Happy Halloween... ;)
Looks fantastic there , that boat has got some serious hose power , loving the videos .

As you board your flight to Australia, you will have to ask if you can film some hot airliner wiper action!
Please come to Hawkes Bay! Mid March 2020 is the British Car Show at Windsor Park, Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. If you're no longer in New Zealand try attending the car show at Trentham in Upper Hutt in early February 2020.
Thanks. Hawkes Bay on my list, but I'm off to Australia in late January.
So glad you haven't changed ... great wiper action!
Enjoyed your expedition 😃

True, but some were also assembled in New Zealand.
Not that model Sigma no...you're confusing the first model and larger Magna.
⛵ wipers!! Geekness to the max!!!!!!!!
Excellent.....!
The siren call of pantographed wipers cannot be resisted.
Those wipers do like nice.
Absolutely brilliant 👍 Ian you are a star 😊
Nice boat.....I do enjoy fast ferries, and I always have a soft spot for Scania V8s, whatever they are providing motive power to !!! 👍👍👍👍
It looks like a Richardson Devine Marine vessel actually....built in Tasmania....those Scania's are about 850hp each.
Now I'm looking for a '90s Holden Maloo...(wife's friend visiting from Oz next month, could hide one in the hand luggage!)
Plains, trains, clocks, ferries, boats and Citroëns...
We havent seen you in a sub yet!
Maybe he got 5 months down under
@@pagegreer5081 He might return in a sub instead of a plain...
@@mikehydropneumatic2583 Nah he had that for lunch
Subs don't have wipers.
@@slava_trushkin Some do on the periscope
At 2:18 something about 4 times the size as the dolphins swims the other way..
Poor old Blighty will seem very monochromatic after your time 'down-under' Mr Hubnut! Very enjoyable video. Thank you.
I hope you’re ok after all that wiper pr0n.
Another lovely travel blog. Thanks.
