Thank you my Honda prelude oil bay is so dirty this helps so if I just remove the distributor. Also using brake cleaning fluids everything should be good right. My prelude I am the second owner and never knew what hidden treasure I had tbh till recently now I'm a little kid at a candy shop 😂😂😂
I lost the footage sorry guys. On the Sh its better to remove upper engine, The intake manifold together with the injector rails, to get into the oil cooler oring and teflon seal the oil pressure to aswell.
Have you ever had the engine idle from 1500-2500 rpms and then when it warms up it starts to jump rapidly at 1k like it's having a heart attack? I get this on my 2000 and tried swapping all the sensors I could think of with a good motor with no luck yet.
@@jfGarage4k the gauge shows normal. But I know I have a leak in my cooling system as well. The previous owner mentioned they replaced the water pump and timing belt. But I don't think they did. After a 200 miles or so the car runs hot at idle but cools off during any driving. Not sure if they are related but I have a few issues with this.
Dont trust on somewords of people say, if its leaks replace the seals or the faulty part. Get your coolant leak Solve first and see if the fix the problem
Your low on coolant cost of the leaks, idle high and jumped outta control cuz on the coolant system, Fix the leak and well solved your 2 problems, good luck
my vtec solenoid gasket is fine, my distributor is fine, but I’m having a oil leak under the vtec solenoid, it’s near some red looking pipe/valve thing
Dude thanx a million I'm having the same problem with my 1997 Prelude Type SH. I was about to change my head gasket seal.

Ur supposed to grease the oring before stabbing the dizzy back in. Same as an injector oring.
Your right, I do grease some orings before install but some how i forgot to grease this one out.

Yes 5th gen Sh are equal same setup, oring on the base of the oil cooler.
Where is PArt 2 video? I think I got another leak on the base of the oil cooler and the ATTS is on the way, very hard to change the o ring

Bleed out the air of your coolant system,
Your coolant gauge reading show normal or Hot?

Try cleaning your IACV and you FITV. This fixed my 99 prelude idle from jumping up and down

Check your intake cam cap, if that cap leaks it goes under the vtec Solenoid
O rings probably would have been identical, it's just one has been compressed and one is new?
2 Oring's need to replace on this distributor, ones on the outside shaft & the other small one inside the distributor inner shaft
