- On the third episode of our show #WomenWeLove #RajeevMasand talks to #SushmitaSen who, 25 years ago, was crowned Miss Universe, and who has gone on make unconventional life and career choices - including adopting two daughters as a single mother, putting her acting career on hold to raise the girls, and living and loving openly without fear. That same defiant, rule-breaker spirit ended up saving her life when she was diagnosed with a debilitating health condition.

So many people is Bollywood wears the liberal tag and advocates for saving the girl child, women empowerment etc. They make videos, give speeches but there is only one doer. I have never heard Sushmita Sen bashing India and the world generally about poor statistics related to women. Don't we already know that? And it's easy to do that. What's difficult is to actually take a step to make a significant difference apart from just talking about making a difference. Sushmita Sen is a person who did it, not just talk/made videos about things that are to be done.

I love how she politely but firmly corrected Rajeev “ I like the word underdog than the dark horse”. There are some of these words and phrases with racial undertones, we people need to throw out from our vocabulary completely.
She's survived so much & didn't even let anyone know that..she suffered & survived like a warrior.. She's a true inspiration, everyone should look up to her..she's so honest, warm, loving & all heart towards everyone...she deserves all the happiness in the world..

Best 45 minutes I had ever invested on TH-cam.
Some 12-13 years back, when I was in grade 4, my maternal uncle was assistant art director and the production house he was dealing at that time had Ms Sen in their contract. So he had contact number of few actors and actresses one of which was Susmista's. I asked him to share her number for I would just drop a casual message and also assured I wouldn't share it with my friends. I dropped a text message saying, I would like to know the name of the child she has adopted for some kind of Bollywood question answer quiz we gonna play with friends. And to my surprise she replied within like 5 minutes.."Rene :) " . It made my day. Big bollywood star replied to me with a smiley. I kept that message and used to show it to all my friends until one day that phone was dead and I no longer had that message.
She should be a talk show host.. Way better than Karan Johar...
