I grew up in El Toro and had to take a bus to Mission Viejo High School. El Toro High wasn't Built yet, I graduated in 1974 and El Toro High opened in 1975. Loved those good old days, now I'm 66 years old and live in Georgia and loving life.

Born and raised in Mission Viejo. Moved away at 18 to live a new adventure. This was a fantastic history lesson and venture into nostalgia for me. Miss my old stomping grounds a lot but could never afford to move back sadly. Speaking as a historian myself, Robert did a great job!

Grew up there and moved away at a young age as well. I miss it a lot and visit every chance I get. It's insane how much it's been developed up to this point.

Was born and raised in MV and left at age 27. Still want to move back down there someday as it’s one of the nicest areas I’ve ever been to.

Our family moved to Mission Viejo June 1972 !
We lived in a Eldorado Model home on La Sierra and the Undeveloped Hills were our playgrounds !
Enjoyed ALL The Recreation Centers and Especially SKATEWAY !
Too Bad it became OVER Developed and is now just a congested bunch of parkways and streets..
GONE is the Sense of Community

Should be a class on Don Bren's design vision and methodology. The environment was part of the 1960's plan. I have always wondered: did they maximize the land for every plot of home or leave it open to create a open sense of space. No telephone poles, everything underground. curved roads in neighborhoods, not a straight grid. carved out terrain and great drainage.
