      @@GiftWrappingLove if you maybe just write a formula,
      E.g A=(e+c)•2+15 cm and draw a line on the video where A is.
      Many people will be able to understand it, and if you do not use cm you can google “cm to inch” and there will come a converter.
      And today youtube has its automatic translation subtitles, I sometimes use it from English to Danish and it translates very well. I hope that could help.
      I always get my paper too small so having a formula so I know exactly what size to go for would help me extremely

    what formula do you use when you need to find the right amount of wrapping paper?
    I followed your video where all the sides of the wrapping paper go to the middle of the box, but still, I have my long sides too short when I fold the triangles they are too short and there is too much white you can see.
    I always get my wrapping paper too small

    • @GiftWrappingLove
      @GiftWrappingLove  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately for this technique the triangles only taper to a point (and everything meets) when the box has a particular ratio in terms of dimension, so it's certainly not anything you are doing but the box itself. I often have the same scenario in which case I work what I have into the design itself (with ribbon, etc). This technique gives me the most grief of all of them (This is a very old tutorial of mine and if I do an updated one I can definitely see a lot of possibilities for improvement! 😅). Thank you so much for the constructive feedback. For now I try to do as little writing as possible onscreen (and put some info into the description) due to viewers' language issues. Of course that may change with time. Everything is a work in progress for me.

    Great tutorial. I’m going to save for future use. I feel like this wrapping is easy to do (following tutorial) but difficult to master??? I watched the video 3 times, then attempted it while following the video. Everything was going fairly well until the end when you fold in the two last pieces to the middle. The pieces did not meet in the middle as they were supposed to and we’re about an inch from each other. I would attach a pic if I was able. I’m not sure where exactly I went wrong but I’ll for sure keep trying. Not bad for my first attempt I think

    • @GiftWrappingLove
      @GiftWrappingLove  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I actually think you did everything perfectly and it's the proportions of the box that result in the flaps not meeting. It's actually why out of all the videos I get the most grief for this one 😅 (from viewers across all social media platforms). If the box is, say, slightly wider or narrower or slightly deeper and the ratios are off, the flaps will either not meet or overlap a little. I've seen people hide the gap (as with your case) with a wax seal, ribbon, or other embellishments. All this is to say that it's not you! I would say that in fact you did great! This technique is the equivalent of diving into the deep end of the pool. ~ Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Cheers.

    I have been trying all night over and over. It will not work. It must be that my box is higher than yours. The proportions are different. The last two wings only come up part of the sides, there is not enough to reach on to the top. I cut the paper exactly so the sides, then top and bottom met on top, exactly enough. It is driving me mad. My box is about 7 inches tall, yours is only a few inches. Is this why it will not work?
    Played your video over and over backward forwards so many times to follow each step. I cannot do it.

    • @GiftWrappingLove
      @GiftWrappingLove  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I'm so sorry about the frustration. Your suspicion is correct... Unfortunately this technique only works for a flattish, rectangular box. It's absolutely not anything that you are doing incorrectly. You'll see, with a box of similar proportions (meaning flattish in height) to what's shown, the flaps will either all meet (or overlap one another/fall short of meeting by a tad...both cases of which you can work around). It's not you! *Many hugs*

    @kristyfrye8926 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are the dimensions of the box you wrapped in the video?

    • @GiftWrappingLove
      @GiftWrappingLove  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      5.5" width x 8.75" length x 1.75" depth. Regardless of the size of your box, if your proportions are of a similar ratio, you can arrive at a similar result. Unfortunately this technique is a bit particular with respect to measurements. Sometimes when I'm wrapping a shallow, rectangular box in this design, my flaps will overlap slightly or not meet. In these cases, I just improvise/roll with it. 🙃 Good luck and happy holidays!

      It's the most fickle of all the wrapping techniques for sure. The flaps meet exactly for certain ratios of rectangular flattish boxes, other times it overlaps or there can be gaps.
