I must've had terrible luck, because the Rustoleum primer I bought, refused to dry out in the sun for 3 days and left my minis sticky. Had to strip them, and used Krylon instead, which dried nearly instantly. Regardless, the model came out fantastic
Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that. That's really good info. I'll stop recommending specific rattle can paints. I'm also pinning your comment to the top, so that others will see this. From what I understand, a "sticky" mini is the result of the chemical propellant in the can reacting with the plastic in the mini, and you're right...it'll never feel dry. I had the "sticky mini" thing happen to me when painting War of the Ring, which is a really soft plastic, but I don't recall the paint brand I was using at the time. I haven't had any issues with the Rustoleum 2X so far, but I'll probably go back to airbrush priming just to be safe. Hey, I'm happy to hear that your mini came out looking great in the end! And, thank you so much for for your comment!
I appreciate you checking it out! I get inspiration from all over the place, and right now I'm really enjoying your grim dark painting style. I'll have to try it out at some point!
Man this is a nice looking mini. I like the highlights on the shoulder as much as the light from underneath. Why do you choose to do the teeth before the inside of the mouth?
Thanks, buddy! Not so much an intentional choice to paint teeth first, but more of a case of having ice yellow on my brush, and figuring I could just use it there. If I messed up the teeth while painting the mouth, it should be an easy fix. I do this often, sometimes just to test a color before fully committing to it.
Instant follow. Love the way you did this video. Easy explanations and great footage. Also, I'm loving the zombicide minis. Will you be documenting the rest? Would love to see it. Even if it's shorter videos. Great video though. Looking forward to the next one
First, thank you so much for checking out my video, and taking the time to comment! I absolutely plan to record painting all minis for base game and Sinister Six expansion. Right now I have about eight Cthulhu DMD videos lined up, because my Hastur video has been the best performing video. As a new channel, I'm still trying to guage demand, so you're input really helps me decide what to do next. Currently, my two top priorities are to get Cthulhu DMD and Marvel Zombies painted up, because I love those games.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm enjoying the process of figuring out how to present these ideas with more consistent quality (camera settings, audio, etc). Maybe when I dial in the technical aspects, the subs will come. Thanks again!
Love the orange backlight effect! Would love to see it right next to the "normal" hulk in contrast with its blue highlights. Was this intentional? I agree, the i-beam being orange kind of drew your eyes away from hulk and clashes a bit with the highlight but it still looks pretty cool. It's also behind him so it shouldn't draw your eyes away too much.
Yeah, the contrasting back light is intentional. All super heroes will get blue glow, and all zombie heroes will get orange glow. Ice Yellow will be incorporated into the highlights of all models to unify them, and make it look like they're all interacting with the same natural light. Thanks for watching!

"A little too lively . . ." I see what you did there. 😂
Holy crap...i actually had no idea that I did that! Great catch! But, you deserve all the credit for the clever word-play. I did nothing.😅
I am not a super hero person, but this is awesome. Great work! love the gross wounds!

Another wonderful job. You should have way more than 601 subs.
