    You can tell when someone knows what they are doing! Good job! That is the right way but is so exhausting! I have 4 Aussies!

    You need a slicker brush first, then bath and blow dry, or you're washing and drying dead hair which prevents you from cleaning and drying skin and healthy hair effectively.

      Yes, correct! @1:35 states brushing before and after the bath for brushing.

    Wow. You are a BOSS with the clippers. So many groomers say you should only use thinning shears but those things suck the life out of me. The clippers are so much more efficient but clearly you gotta have good game to avoid chunking. Nice work. Seems like that puppy's grooming was a bit overdue!

      Are you a groomer? It's always different with this breed! If you need help, lemme know!

      @@Stephanie.922 a lot of ppl think that they shouldn't be shaved. There is a professional groomer who is also on youtube and she shaved a double coat aussie all the way down. The dog lives in Texas with extreme heat. The groomer is named My Favorite Groomer and has done this for many years. She is also an instructor. I learned how to shave down a double coat Shih Tzu thanks to her and he was less snappy and much happier in the extreme heat.

      It's not good to shave a double coated dog.

    My dad is getting an Aussie and I want to make sure he keeps up with the coat. What kind of brushes would be good to keep the shedding down a little and to help maintain the coat?

    • @GoneGrooming
      @GoneGrooming  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congratulations! It's a great breed- Keep them focused! brushes we have listed in the description- BATHE AND BLOW OUT FIRST.. My Top 2 I recommend. Wide tooth comb first then undercoat rake. Hope it helps!

    • @karenkollmer
      @karenkollmer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      rake. Use a pin with a light conditioning spray to keep the coat healthy. Brushing dry will break the coat.

    Aussie and Mini breeder here. Please PLEASE, do not use the clipper on the entire dog. Paws are the only place those belong.The trim is not clippered, it is thinned with thinners. Those ears have way TOO much fur on them withe the fade telling that story. I think if you laid off the clippers on the body, it wouldn't look so dry.

  • @xCookiesen

    Oh no.... why shaving a aussies fur. I understand the but, paws and ears but why the body?

      I understand your side, but it's upon the owners requests.
