Excellent review as usual. Side note. Could you request a new Pontus 15th for review. It is suppose to be hardware upgraded to the Venus 12th level. The Pontus 15th even has the Venus 12th mother board, and a major capacitor upgrade along with its clocks, wiring, and o-core power supply upgrades. I would love for you to confirm the performance differences. You always do a deep dive into your reviews. You inspire confidence Wave Theory. Thank you sir.
Waiting for the Aune AR5000 review. Just got the headphones for myself and they are kinda amazing. Bass cannons that are fully open-back. Comparing to Fiio FT3 and HD6XX and there is simply no comparison...
Really cool that you got to review the ADX5000 and 3000 back-to-back!! This looks like a really solid headphone for the kilobuck bracket. My only complaint with this one vs the ADX5000 is the lower impedance, as the higher impedance of the latter meant it occupied a cool niche; however, it does make this one a lot more source chain friendly, and it appears Audio Technica is targeting a wider market here. I’ve heard rumors they’re working on a model above the ADX5000, not sure how true that is but enough has passed for me to believe it. I assume they’ll be targeting summit-fi pricing ($3-4K+). Might just grab a used 5000 for as close to $1K as I can and call it.
can agree with you that lower impedance also dont work for me, my ADX5000 run really well with tubes and Im a big fan of those amps, higher model than 5000 for 3-4k kind of dont make sense for me I would rather to hunt down susvara (old model)
Didn't see this one coming, you kept this one well from our curious eyes, but the AWKG, or whatever it is, still looms in the back. 👻 Good job on the comparisons, it helps a lot.
Any plan for a HE1000 Unveiled review, will be great to hear your take on it, so far the impression I gather is it is the better of the 2 Unveiled Hifimans (price/performance wise) and most warmer of H1000 line.
I wonder if there is a DAC or amp (that doesn't cost more than the headphone itself) that could improve the dynamics so that it's similar to the ADX5000.
people really hate ADX5000 in my country sometimes there is occasion to get them in price of adx3000, well you can check those few reviews of 5000 how hateful comments are, thats not my case of course I love mine and have no idea how anybody can hate it, even bought it new without regrets
Yea I hope the next generation of flagships focus on getting the weight down as much as possible rather than making them look good. Something like the final x8000 is a very positive step forward imo.
If the adx5000 wasnt so amp picky and you got bad luck with the amp selection 😢 Also the adx5000 were meant to be used with usually 4k+ amps like the utopia og, they are very hard to match and scale a lot. The adx5000 have more body than you heard, its also an absolute hit with the correct amp and scales with the more expensive gear, its intented to use with amps like the Pass Labs hpa1 and the woo wa22, or even the cheapest amp that drivers them properly is $1600 mass kobo 475; amps like those fix the problems you pointed out the adx5000 had. 😢
@@benstain2674what do you mean? Ive had the adx5000 for a long time and they suck with bad synergy which is most amps in the market around 2k. They are not good with most amps that exist at their price point thats a FACT. But with just the right amps around 1.6k and 4k its really easy to hear how much these improve and how good they are But yes, the adx5000 are usually meant for people with 4k+ amps, usually what would be used with the og utopia and wavetheory didnt know AND THATS OK, these headphones dont come with a warning that theyre extremely hard to drive and most people dont know. Theres no ABX to be done the difference with any of the amps I mentioned and the ones wavetheory used is night and day. Youd have to hear for yourself.
@@danaillaysen7632exactly, if your budget is for 2000 dollar headphones that dont need at least a 5k audio chain get headphones that are way easier to drive like the hifiman he1000se.
@@808lilmac Yes, you're influenced by sighted bias and the cost of the products. This influences your expectations. The human auditory system is quite extraordinary. It is able to change gain and sensitivity based on your state of mind. If you were to blind test an amp you think makes the adx sound great and one that sounds inadequate, you will fail to tell the difference 100% of the time. That's the point of a blind test. It removes all biases.
When you put these headphones on, it’s like my ears upgraded to premium membership and canceled all the ads in my life.
Asian product advertising at it finest.
Actually cancelling idea of cancelling the ads subscription as even they sound soooo .. goood! 😅
hay mucha diferencia con los ADX5000?
Excellent review. One of your best.
Great review, many thanks. My daily driver is the m50x for rock and metal. For gaming I use the arya organic, hooked up to my smsl mda1 amp.

Is Alcantara ...hehe... And those plastics are actually magnesium if not wrong. Thanks for the review though.
Thanks for the great review and comparsion!
Being even lighter and cheaper, these ADX3000 might be a really interesting option for a lot of people
A comparison to the DMS Omega would be interesting.
Thank you for this new video.

I have one question seeing have you heard both the Apos ATH-R70x refine and ATH-ADX3000.
Which one do you prefer?
Thank you.
Have you heard the ATH-R70xa or can review it ?

How does this sound? Compared with HiFiman Sundara? HiFiman sounds good, but its durability is poor. My HiFiman Sundara broke within two years.

For 350$ these should be okay. Seems like a bit tuned r70x.
Completely different drivers and impedance though
