MY OLDER SISTER HAD BROUGHT ONE OF THESE WITH HER WHEN SHE RETURNED FROM COLLEGE TO THE BAHAMAS WHEN I WAS A CHILD. IT WAS A PRETTY COOL-LOOKING CAR AT THE TIME.
Awesome, if you have ever been to Brazil and are a car fan, it is amazing to see different and unique vehicles! As well as the digs in this video about Brazil being on point!
Hi! Nice video about the beautiful SP-2. Just a correction: its design was entirely developed by the Brazilian Volkswagen staff, whose leader was Marcelo Piancastelli. So, nothing to do with Giugiaro 😉
One of my favourite cars ever. Thanks for the video. I didnt know the designer was involved in those other great looking cars. When I win the lottery, there will be an SP2 in my driveway 🥰🥰🥰
Really cool car😎 Good-looking and well proportioned but I can't say see any Scirocco resemblance🤔. And while some aspects of it do remind me of a Scimitar, overall I don't think it looks much like one of those either. I'm curious about the 0-60 time though🤔. Even with only 75bhp and taking into account that it is heavier than you might expect (890kg), it surely should be able to hit 60 in less time than that?. I looked up the stats for a 75bhp Polo and found the 3rd gen1.6 petrol has a 0-60 time of 11.6 seconds (0-100kmh in12.2), despite being 100kg heavier!. Even the 60bhp 1.4 Polo of that age is quicker.
Good to see my country's underrated automotive industry being mentioned here! Greetings from Brazil!🇧🇷🤝🇿🇦
The back end of this design is stunning. I am surprised no one in Wolfsburg did not work on the car as a side project.

Putting a 200 HP flat 4 or 6 into the rear, that would make it a lot of fun for sure. Cheers Chris 👍💪✌
@@rjung_ch oh yeah!!😅😅
A lovely looking mullet of a car; business in the front, party in the back. VW 412 meets Porsche 911!
Finally got to see a real one! I have a matchbox size version of this 😅 in yellow, looks great, cheers for the great vid👍
this should have been sold in the US

In fact it Giorgetto Giugiaro did NOT designed the SP 2. Complete 💩fake information. Read my comment.
that looks like the prerunner to the Scirocco & Corrado
Great looking car ❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤very interesting video thanks
The SP2, when it arrived to the USA it was VW's answer to the Opel GT.
Love the old skool Suffefrikin accent!
Really cool car😎

I love it too !!
It looks like the vw schirocco
that would be the VW GOL, another Brazilian car, that looks like a Sirocco
@@TicoDK Calling it "GOL" is the most brazilian thing ever
Looks like a cross between a Ford Capri and a Schimitar.
Not really. Definitely not inspired by any British design.
Looks like a squashed Jensen interceptor. Karmen Gaia was the one
Nice but the thumbnail shows a car with broken suspension, which looks absolutely terrible.
It Looks a lot li, e the old Reliant Scimitar.
Ready for a second life as an EV conversion!
