At 78 years old and a lifelong socialist/Labourite, I'm politically heartbroken. My decision not to vote Labour is finally cemented after this week my hard working and principled MP Lloyd Russell-Moyles has been unceremoniously given the push and some Starmer luvvie has been parachuted in. I moved my votes to TUSC at least I know I'll be throwing my vote at socialists and trade unionists.
Have an idea how you feel. My Dad isn't much older than you. He's in a similar frame of mind. I'm gutted about Labour. I thought they were going to be good for us. Until I started to dig deeper. They are just as bad if not worse than the current Government.

It’s scary the correlation between Sunak’s and Starmer’s accession to leadership. Both came into politics at pretty much identical times (2015) and have their careers in politics have run parallel.

This is why I struggle so much to convince people to vote. I try to argue that not all politicians are liars and just out for themselves. I try to explain why its important to vote and that it can make a difference. Its "Leaders" like this that blow any and all of my arguments out of the water and I fear that the apathy is starting to get to me too.
The main reason not to vote is because one vote is meaningless.

I've never known a Labour leader so against taxing the rich. I just wonder what Starmers rationale is for this. He's come down entirely on the side of big business, corporations and the uber rich.

Short note from Germany: This is exactly the recipe that will create massive disappointment in another big party - which might lead to a lot of voters at the next election turning further to the right.
