I miss the sound of a sawmill running, when I was a young boy I lived less then a 1/4 mile from one that my uncle worked at. His brother worked at another mill further down the road and lost most of his right arm just below the elbow, he was tryin to move a slab when the blade caught it and jerked his arm into the blade. Aren't as many mills around here as there used to be, I know of one still in operation.
On the safety side of things, build yourself a wire mesh screen to stand behind in case the blade rips out a chunk of wood & sends it flying at 90 miles an hour & hits you in the face. You should also use a stick to move those short slabs & flitches away from the blade & not your hand. One wrong move, when you grab them with your hand & it's gone.
At 4:35, hear a good lesson in what NOT to do around this kind of equipment: «His grandfather-stepped across that shaft, and a set screw-caught him on the pants, whipped him around and beat him to death.»
Thanks Captain Safety! Where would this would be without you sticking you nose in where it does not belong? Thank God for Captain Safety. He will tell us how to live, breed and work.

How do you keep your saw from getting hot? We use water to keep ours cool, but I cant see what your using?
Do you use the jockey sharping system
Poor bugger is all alone, he will never get done.

יש אנשים בעולם לא חושבים ל החיים שלאם רק עובדים ? מסוקן מאוד אך שהוא עובד
My mill is lighter and cheaper, also homemade from aluminum scrap
