  • RV Solar video part 1 of many more to come. Received my CIGS solar panels and I want to test each one before installing on my Prevost. My problem was the batteries I have to test them with are fully charged. Out of pure luck, Setpower reached out to see if I wanted to review one of their 12v/24v Overland Fridge - the SetPower RV45S. So I will be unboxing the fridge and showing how it will help draw the power down in my batteries so I can then start testing each CIGS solar panel - so I can then feel confident with them before installing on my bus.
If all of this is successful, I plan to boondock this year, testing out all the inverters, batteries and solar that has been installed.

Love your careful, methodical approach to each problem and upgrade. Makes me less nervous about our own future used coach purchase! Happy trails.

Thanks - me either! If we could get rid of this snow and 10-30 degree weather - sure would help!

Now, you need to make a slide out tray for your cooler.
    It never ends.
    Happy trails.

Haha your right! I think after I bring it home and remove the fridge/freezer and put the cooler on it - I may change it all up. I never finished the grill stand either. Some put the tv on a slide - and extend it to watch. I’m torn between that and having it ready once I open the bay. Good problems I guess! Your correct - never ends.

Great video as always. Looking forward to seeing them solar panels on the roof luckily they are low profile so they won’t slow you down to much😂. Always learning something from your videos keep it up.

Not sure if I’m a huge fan of the look of that cooler… looks kinda tacky with the metal hardware screwed into the sides, and the bright yellow trim. I guess if it works then it doesn’t really matter but it just looks a little cheap compared to some other options. Great video and testing though

Thanks! Amazing how hard something so simple can be! They have a lot of different options, kinds, sizes - I picked that one because it looked different than a standard cooler. I kind of like the yellow and SS but feel the latches on the front are a little tacky. Now my problem is it’s colder out then my cooler setting - so it’s not running! Lol. If those batteries weren’t 160lbs each I’d take it inside. Maybe I’ll take the cooler inside and run it through its paces and just wait for warmer / better weather. We haven’t seen the sun for months. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Appreciate the video, thanks! Where did you get the CIGS solar panels? I’m specifically interested in the 240w version.

I custom ordered them from China. From the little testing I’ve been able to do with just the 80 watt panel, I really like them. I’ve gotten as much as 85 watts from it.

@@CampPrevost Anazing, thanks! They seem like a big step forward. I’ll shoot you an email with a few more questions if you don’t mind
