I too had/ have the fear of the dentist. It got better though when i started to improve my nutrition. I reduced the carbohydrate intake dramatically and added omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin D3, and vitamin B complex plus a few other things. I believe the vitamin B complex was particularly helpful with the psychological aspect of it all. They have anti-depressant and anti-anxiety effects.

That's really solid advice. We're doing pretty good most of the time, but sometimes eat too much pasta because it's convenient. Thanks for sharing.

The high cost and not having insurance is my excuse, but it's got to change..LOL. Thanks, Reece 🥴

Wow Jorg comparatively for the cost you could take a trip to Mexico and get your teeth fixed for the price you pay to get your teeth fixed up here in Canada.

Hi Tony. Yes, exactly. Cancun is one of the most expensive places for dental work in Mexico, by the way. But it is easy to get to, directly from Edmonton.

Cheap dentists are the biggest reason I need to hurry up and visit Mexico! And I'm guessing that it'd be cheaper yet in the remoter areas you've visited (the Veracruz to Orizaba area beckons), as opposed to in Cancun where you're competing with foreign tourists driving up the price, although of course that will require that I learn Spanish, which I've been working on for the last few months.

You're absolutely correct, Tom. I first had the idea to return to Tizimin and look for a dentist there. However, Cancun is easy to reach from Edmonton Alberta and we're more likely to get there more often anyways. A fellow Canadian told me that he had a crown replaced for about 20 bucks in Tizimin. Unbelievable!

I bet you didn't really need that many fillings; when dentists are being paid to do work... it's the same with mechanics, they'll tell you that you need something doing whether it's the case or not because that's how they make their living.

That would be fraud, not how dentists and mechanics “make their living” unless you pick a really bad one, which can happen in any profession.
