Today I'm reviewing the recently released "Light Arctic Grey / Purple" colourway, which covers the shoe in various shades of purple and grey suede and mesh. I have these and the lilacs, I'd definitely describe these as blue, a few shades of blue including navy, if anything I'd say the lilac chalk have more purple in them, good review though !
Hi Sean! Firstly, sorry to hear the QC issue but also thx for alerting us. I managed to grab a pair instore at SNS here in Stockholm. I tried to spot any bad mesh pattern,weird panel placements etc. on each shoe and luckily didn’t find any issues with my pair. My guess is that the inconsistencies may somewhat derive from the manufacturerer, in this case; China. All the best and keep providing us with quality content.
Solid review as usual my man! I bought these a few weeks back on GOAT but sadly had to return due to misaligned, different colored panels 😔 Fortunately I was able to grab the Auralee 2002R's with my credit.
I remember when this pair dropped at extrabutter but I didn’t cop because I noticed the og grey colorway’s resale value dropped at stockx.
Can't wait till my lunar new year 2002rd comes. I find your review the best for this shoes model.
just got these in hand from the NB shock drop, my pair didn't have any mismatching mesh directions luckily. the color blocking on these is excellent, hopefully they don't just become a constant reminder that i don't have the rain cloud colorway 😂

Shame about the quality control issues since these look the bomb. Just have to be careful buying I guess.

Sorry that the mesh is off, but I totally get it and it would bother me too - probably every time I put them on.
I bought my first 2002r light arctic grey purple and it has made in china tag and I usually see made in vietnam tags to my new balance, is the one I bought replica or not
I missed the launch of these, and I was very into it initially. But after watching this vid I immediately go to the upthere store (I'm in Sydney) to check but they were sold out. Luckily at another store I coped a pair of size 8.5 although I usually wear 9. Fingers crossed, hopefully 8.5 is not to snug for me.
it will snug. i recommend to go half size up on this pair :) That would be smart move

They look blue to me. I got them and I don't see why they're called purple 🤔. You're right about the quality and inconsistencies but the style and color way still made it a cop for me. I also picked up the Lilac pair.which I prefer slightly over the "purple" pair . Thanks for the review Sean. 👍🏻

solid review as usual, i just checked my pair and the mesh on my pair seems consistent.
I do agree on the quality side, been vocal about that the japan cw had much nicer suedes imo.
The light blue/purple suede feels poor, de dark panels next to the N logo tho feel fine imo but the other suedes are less.

Honestly Im just getting in to NB. I have liked the 2002r from the jump but I cant decide if I prefer the standard pair of 2002rs over these Protection Pack styled variants. The materials do seem more buttery on the standard pairs.
I’m a little late to your comment, but if you still haven’t pulled the trigger on any refined future pairs they are most definitely worth it. They look amazing in hand.

Great video Sean! Got a question did you get charged import fees? I'm in the UK and might consider getting stuff from Up There Store so just being cautious😅
You will pay import fees and quite hefty ones also if u in the uk. If u are after these i managed to pick up numerous pairs of these on end, they keep restocking now and then

Love these. But I got the Raincloud cw, thankfully for retail so I’ll pass and let someone else who wants these to get em. Still a dope colorway at the end of the day and close to the OG’s

Didn`t think both of these new CWs did much for the silhouette. Although a GR, the Refined Future became something of a special item in recent NB catalog and the more they release random CWs, the less interesting it becomes.
Both colourways are fire imo, the lilac chalk & the artic greys are so fire I doubled up on each pair and will triple up if I could. But I’m biased I love the 2002r and the protection pack

How...."purple"....are they🤷🏿♂️? Initial pics looked likeore a vibrant purple but these look pretty muted....almost an indigo.
