  • Took the CB500X off-road on another adventure. This time I wanted to practice riding in different terrain and work on my technical riding and bike fitness on some rocky roads but ended up on a long trails exploring some great scenic hills and a fun ride on some single track.

Im thinking of getting my first bike, and this is exactly the kind of riding im trying to do. I've rode my buddys trial bike and honda 250s, but what i want and need this looks 👌.

Hi, thank you for the comment, if you are starting out I would suggest the CRF300l, it is better suited from stock to this kind of riding, lighter and ready to go without any mods. As you progress you can modify the bike. The CB500X in the video is not stock; wheels and suspension were upgraded; it is also a heavy bike to pick up if you are on your own off-road.
Best of luck and ride safe

What I learned on a bike:
Watching TH-cam bike content and riding a bike are hugely different things..
After 6 years of thinking about starting I bought a 22 cb500x. I got my license 6 years ago, but never had a own bike since then.
Now, new on the bike, things are not so easy as they look like on TH-cam. Fear rides with me and I do struggle a lot with slow speed riding, gas and fitting the gears. My success is , that I did not drop the bike so far... But a few close calls.
Watching u driving on that dirt rode makes me really wonder if I ever would be able to do this..

Hi thank you for the comment Riding off road is about practicing the basics and building on them. Off Road protection for yourself and the bike is very important.
      Ride safe

Wow, what a great ride along. I really enjoy watching you put this bike to the test... and then watching you both pass the test 😃📝💯

Hi thank you for the comment, most of the time I don't use GPS. I only use it if I am following an organised event route or I am abroad. When I do it's normally my phone that I use with Google maps for the road and OsMand for off road routes

Awesome videos, riding and beautiful landscape! I live in the mountains of North Carolina and it looks very similar to what you have there.
Couple of questions: I weigh 120kg and would want to be able to comfortably ride at speeds of up to 113kph, is this the wrong bike for me? I would be looking at the 2022 or up model with inverted forks and I also don’t plan to ride anything as rough as you are here.

Hi, its is easy to ride on the road at speed and easy on the back roads. There are so many options it is worth trying a few before you buy, if it is speed then a 700 or 750 might be better.

Are you using the stock tires the bike came with?
