I'm a Paladin main and if the aesthetic of the job isn't your vibe then its never going to be. I love the sword and shield hero thing so Its perfect for me. BUT I will say in its defense that once you level it up its skills get really satisfying and its way less boring to play at higher levels. (the skill Icons start to look a lot better as well.)
exactly this, I love Paladin because I love sword and shield, and for the only shield class in the game I don't think it disappoints. And the post Stormblood "Mage Knight" play style is right up my alley.
As a tank main in MANY games (or "tanky dps" too sometimes) although I like the idea of both Paladin and Dark Knight (am a simp for Cecil what can I say), the heavy reliance both seem to have on magic phases and such are part of the reason I main GNB... that said, what does Paladin magic phase look like? Does it hurt dps a lot if you mess that up?
@@tcut95 drk has no magic phase and for paladin it's your burst. if you fuck up magic phase you lose a lot of dmg. Burst means basically twice to triple your normal dps. it's satisfying to do though
7:37 The thing flying next to your head is a Red Mage's Focus and it is placed on the pommel of the hilt whenever you cast spells to turn the rapier into a staff (a good example of this is shown by Alisae during the opening cinematic of Endwalker). Also, Astrologian is my favourite Healing class almost entirely because of it's aesthetic. Not only does it have the most interesting weapon type, but also SPACE DUST!
I'm a main dancer, it's my comfiest job, I play it all the time, from casual content to ultimate. I love the aesthetic, the dances minigames, the movement freedom, the support side of the job buffing the whole team.. I'm sadge. (nice video tho !!)
I don't get why Scholar has such a bad reputation. It maybe needs some time to get your head wrapped around it but once you learned it, it really is the epitome of an easy healer. The fairy automatically heals the party constantly, you have a lot of spells without cast time, and a lot of over-time group heals. And if you know the bosses a bit and learn to time your shields to the incoming attacks, no one even gets any damage. The only downside is that you don't really have any strong burst heals. But maybe that's exactly the reason why people don't like it. For me, it's my favourite job in the game and makes for a chill healing experience if you know how to play it.
the reason people don`t like SCH is threefold: it still has that bad pet-management stain from pre-EW, Expediant is a meme to people with half a braincell and your oh-shit-button Excog is bound to your Aetherstack. Only upside imo SGE has over SCH is Pepsis to turn shields into heal where SCH needs to decide if you get either or.
as the first healer I learned to play Scholar has been great fun. I chose which one I wanted to try based on aesthetics so I maybe biased but I really enjoyed learning and playing it. As long as you aren't trigger happy with your fester I feel like for light party content you have great healing tools to either not let someone's HP drop low in the first place or keep them safe until their hp recovers. For harder full party content you are paired with another healer anyway so I don't really mind the lack of burst, I have my job and WHM has theirs.
SCH was my first and continues to be my main, and I don’t get all the comments about how bad and janky it is. The fairy kinda just follows you and passively heals, there’s very little maintenance you need to do for it outside of like savage and other super hard content (and even then it’s just placing the fairy in the middle, usually). It also feels very intuitive to me at least - the class is about making sure people don’t get low, not pulling them back once they do *SGE* is the healer I find weird and janky, though I’m always in the minority when I say that. Maybe I’m too used to SCH…I got SGE to 90 and am okay on it but it just feels worse than SCH in every way to me
@@Ededdeddy97 a lot if people think of sage as a shield healer which it is but I kinda view it as in between shield and healing cause they have some extremely strong raw healing
As a casual healer, I can tell you that all of the healers have a use in savage; White Mage and Scholar/Sage are always my go-to when learning a fight because of their flexibility and ease of use, and once I know the flow of a fight I become more confident and use Astrologian to buff people so the fight goes a little faster. Kinda sad that none of the casters made it to S tier, but you still get props from me because you put Dragoon at S tier!
So,as an omni class player. Smn gets more insta cast by 90 and you get to summon the primals, bahamut and Phoenix. Mch rotation stays the same after 70,only adds one more tool and charges, plus a robot. Dark is tanky versus magic and tends to do very well in savage. War is better for dungeons. Dancer is honestly like playing ddr xd, it has a rhythm to it and it depends on what skill proc. Paladin gets to go full magic combo starting 70, especially by 90. Shield healers mostly focus on reducing damage instead of raw healing, so they require planning to get them working. Ast and whm focus on raw healing, though ast requires a lot of planning. For mnk,it gets fast and ends up feeling like a fighting game with combos.
Machinist was my main in SHB and EW, and the fact it’s not just a pure gunner job is one of the complaints I heard about it. I, personally, really like the fact that it’s canonically a job our WoL is developing themselves. All the gadgets are our own.
As a GNB tank that has mained it since I started Shadowbringers, I would most totally agree it is the best tank in the group, due to the fact that not only is GNB's invuln super broken, but also the rotation is simple enough once you get the hang of it. Trust me, I got my Saber mount just a few weeks back finally.
@@nothisispatrick5691 I would agree, but GNB not only has Regen, but they also have Heart of Co and a built-in combo heal with the base combo you use. Three different healing factors, bigger Chad moment. 😎
@@nothisispatrick5691 Not taking any damage over that duration means less for healers to heal up, if healers heal you during your Holmgang is active they are wasting their MP but otherwise they are risking your death. Overall I'd say it's much harder to use than PLD or GNB. In fights where you don't take any lethal damage Holmgang doesn't do anything (in terms of preventing incoming damage). Both PLD and GNB has an extra mitigation button, for example.
Personally I would put Dancer at A or S tier, with Dance Partner, AoE Heals I can drop now and again, and just being able to dance around the enemies literally and figuratively, I really quite enjoyed the class, even finished the Story as one, also sexy glams, but anyway lol, it does look way better as a female to me though, also they do have some pretty strong AoE abilities. Also totally agree with you on the monk thing, it's probably the DPS I have the least interest in.
Scholar isn't in a bad spot by any means. It just works better the more you know a fight and what you can get away with. Plus, the ability to give someone twice their health bar in shields is neat. Having a party-wide crit buff and party-wide sprint (that also mitigates damage) is also nice.
Gunbreaker all the way, it's the only class i played other than dragoon to unlock gunbreaker, I'm by far not the best player to ever use it, but I have a blast playing it (pun intended).
I'm a Summoner main, but I've played Scholar quite a bit and it's still quite much a shield healer but that's not all they do, they're pretty much something you cast preventively and then you have your little fairy that heals automatically and you have regular healing spells for when you actually need them. I have to say I find it super fun, because i'ts more challenging than playing a DPS class
amazing tier list gonna say as a caster main yeah black mage is weird (i only level'd it to 90 to prove to myself i could) summoner is my main and like ppl say the rotation is just crayon eating but hey i'm fine with some classes being simple. red mage i leveled cause as a kid i loved zoro and fencing so i asked my red mage GF to teach me (and now i have a complex with beating healers to rez first). Scholar i thought i'd hate cause of how ppl say sage out classes it but after maxing both, i actually think sage is worse. don't get me wrong sage is fun cause of certain spells but the feels and crits from Scholar are way more fun. AST (i'm not gonna type the full name) is fun cause my adhd gets to prep alot of heals cause its more of a set and forget healer. but the cards are fun and its my main healer. white mage i thought i hate cause i think thin air is dumb but it grew on me tho benediction has made me a think "if tank has 100 hp its fine cause insta all" and last monk i thought would have tot many buttons but id say its rotation is kinda like dragoons to the point its my go to melee dps. all and all amazing video
Paladin is way more fun at higher levels with all the ranged skills, party protecc options and a bit of extra mobility. Also he sparkly af. But level 50 and below is big boring.
Caster / Healer roegadyn main and here r some summary of each job Black Mage = Semi stationary nuke. Easy rotation. Hard to perform in real endgame but worth it. Red Mage = Swag. Raise bot. Summoner = Fake mage. 70% of rotation are instant cast. White Mage = Babies first healer. So many heals and regens and boss of reactive recovery as long as they read the tool tip which many would fail to do so. Astro = Bloated with layers of mechanic with cards and heals. Dainty sparkly peeps that flex the most muscles. (Both literally and figuratively. If you meet a Roe or Hroth astro you’re almost guaranteed a smooth run.) Scholar = the Fairy summon can carry the heals… As far as ARR contents. After that they are no longer beginner friendly and SCH has to step up and take control. Shines in the hands of vetarans because shielding only worthwhile when you understand WHEN the damage is coming. Sage = SCH but trade away the fairy for laser gun. Blue Mage = Filler content. Kamikaze for lulz.
to be honest, my greatest take away was oh... my hroth can wear that... (headgear wise) I love your honesty, I hope you do get to play some of the jobs you haven't really played much and an update :D and it's ok to not the ones that are so not your thing :) have a blessed day :D
I completely understand not having touched red mage yet due to playing other things. Though as a RDM main working his way through ultimates, watching you use your melee combo unenchanted took *years* off my life. :P
This was without a doubt the nicest ‘roasting’ of a job tier list I’ve ever seen. 😂 And I’ve seen a few over the years. 😉 Have fun leveling your jobs. Take your time! PS: I love how you won’t have a level 60 jobs but you have dominated glamour. The true end game. 👍😂❤️
I'm a summoner main, and as much as I love the job, it definitely feels like it doesn't come together until level 90. (To the point I usually do DRK, SCH, or RPR for roulettes besides level 90 & expert when I need tomestones because level 50 and below summoner is painful in comparison)
I just started playing this game this past XMas 2023. I figured I’d give it a shot after over 20 years spent on FFXI. I would say 90% of my MMORPGing experience is with Dps. As of the day of this comment, I’m: 55SAM, 56WAR, 55DRG, 52MNK, 31DRK. As listed above is probably the order of my favourite. Not much to say but I would say our opinions on DRG & MNK are very similar. Though mostly I wanted to comment about Warrior. I’ve never really tanked before, and after seeing the memes on how low brow warrior tanking is, I decided to give it a try… And I unironically love it. I especially love that despite being a “tank”, the offense is still pretty entertaining. Just got Fell Cleave and my 1st? 2nd? Self healing spell not counting the combo. Sorry for typing a book. Nonetheless thank you for this video!
0:14 Min.: Its YOUR opinion, so why should i hate you for it? No reason. I can think outher way. But hey everyonce have a taste. If you wants to see my mindset: Watch avater the last air bender and pay closly attation to what oncle iroh says. I learned much form him and addept many of his wisdom ^^ My main is Astro and crafter/gather. Why may you to ask. Because i grow up at yugioh and star storys, Stars be a thing that intersting me since i be realy young. Watching into the clear star sky and lay next to a woman that i love while we watching into the stars and dream what is around those stars and then cuddles and kisses under the star sky drives me realy happy in the past and will do it in the future many times. Make love under the stars is a expriese that i highly recomant everyonce ^^ But we got a bit side tracked got we. I also be Astro Main because i love to help. Be it to just be the heal and a thing that EVERYONCE wanted and needet (besides warris and paladins...) YES! Having a helper syndrom? MAYBE! XD Loving to help by big dmg numbers? YES ABSOLUTLY! :3 So im this kind of mentor that actuelly dos his job. I might be not the best player but i try my best to explain outhers the mechanics right and helping them. Its makes me realy happy. But 1 think that i have to say befor i wish you a great day: Hesken if you read this i have to say you somthing: I never saw a Hrothgar that pretty and nice glam like yours. You look like a guy that i wants to have as my friend. You looks like a kitty that i wants to tickle under the chin only to see you purrr. You gave me also kinda daddy issues. You look like the father that i never had in your glam. If i would be a woman i would say smash if i see your chara. So yes you have the best looking Hrothgar that exist in my eyes. This chin beard, plus the glasses than that you wear this tops that let you look like some once with than you want to sit at the champ fire and talk about our lifes. No Homo bro but you have a great taste of a chara. I mean you will hear this realy often but i throught its maybe good if i stroke your ego even futher beyond, because your videos makes me happy so i wants to see you also happy with ONLY telling you what i truely think about your chara :3 Have a great day big kitty and stay healthy ^^
4:48 Min.: Dancer is my favorite DPS :D First of all the rotation is simple. Its simular to the bard and i personaly LOVES to dance. Especial with a woman that i love. Dancing is one of my main things i do if i be in a comited releationship. But also the thing with the buffs is soooo wonderfully :3 I love to beening usefully ^^ Thats a thing that i realy love :D
6:48 Min.: I personaly perfer Rez Mage over Summonor because of the usefullness, but yeah you are right. As a summonor you have like 3 Casting spells form that 2 are just filler spells. I have EVERY job at 90 and blue mage at 80 So i know what i say if i say that the summonor is in my eyes not a caster! XD Its a physical Range dps with magical dmg lul XD
8:50 Min.: I love it if this pop up cames! :3 Its the feeling of if you basicly print money with out the issue of that its wronge money and you getting problems with that the money get less worth! :3 Its so wonderfully. Me personaly love form the tanks: (I by far not the best tank and trys to avoid talking so good i can but im not scared of it its just dont makes me so much fun like dpsing or healing) the Warrior the most, then the pala, then the gunbreaker and dark knight is the apdoptiv child with gunbreaker together XD Both missing 1 thing that i value HIGH at pala and warri: Self Healing. Its importent to me. Thats why warri is my favorite. Its dont depents at a heal at all. The heal could be a dps the Warri dont care at all :D The warri dont even care if there groupes leaves. As long the bosses dont have enrage the warri makes everything solo! >:3
10:40 Min.: This looks like the steel great sword form skyrim :D Is it the the steel great sword? Because im a HUGE skyrim fan. Its my favorite game. So basicly i would wonder if its not this weapon ^^
12:48 Min.: My main in EVERY game where this is possible ends up to be the heal that buffs outher once dmg and if this not exist i just take 1 of the directly healing classes :D Reactiv healing is my life and my love :3
Loved the video and your rationale behind most of it, because aesthetics matter as much as mechanics. Sometimes people forget that. XD If you don't mind, I'm gonna share my own opinions on a few of the jobs because you inspired me to share. :) SCH was actually my healer of choice from the start (I'm a filthy healer main. XD) I knew I liked shield healing cuz I like seeing bubbles on people and damage never happening. The addition of lots of OGCD healing spells and Emergency Tactics (makes your next shielding spell into a pure healing spell) for those moments of hard-hitting raidwides/tankbusters helps smooth out spikes in damage. Plus having your faerie friend to help heal everyone's booboos is just precious. :D I get what you mean about MNK, it felt so awful at early levels, so much that I was actually gonna stop leveling it. But I'd say give it a shot. As I leveled it and got more abilities I learned how it's meant to feel. With the stances the job uses, your combos can free-flow between two different sets of single target, or back-and-forth from single-target to AoE without needing to start combos over, so you're never locked into a combo string. It's flashy and powerful sounding too when you hit things, so for me, it's a very satisfying job to play. :) DNC's story quests were also some of the better ones imo. That and its utility and how dynamic it feels means it's my ranged DPS I can fall back on. That and seeing my big fluffy cat-man dancing to the beat as he slices enemies up with his chakrams makes me smile. :D Agreed on PLD. It's my last tank to level and it's mostly due to how bland it feels. Maybe as I get into the 70s with it things will change. Time will tell. I had thought DRK would end up being the same, but I did the story and fell in love with the lore. And I feel the same, a big sword just looks awesome. It's also actually surprisingly tanky, but I suppose that could be said about any of the tanks once you learn the ropes well enough. I'd share more, but I'd end up rambling for several pages. XD Thanks again for the awesome video, it was very entertaining! :D
I personally was expecting gunbreaker to be my least favorite job but then I tried it and played it for a while and it just feels the best for me, it goes so smooth and its fun so now it's my favorite lol. I'm mostly a tank main tho.
As someone going through the arduous process of getting the "Life of Adventure" achievements, I can agree with this list. Well, aside from Blue Mage, but I don't touch that at all, I have actual jobs to worry about, but I can see it being a thing for some. But yeah, healers are LARGELY aesthetic preference in all honesty. Which is probably why I dislike the direction White Mage takes after level 70, basic holy magic job. I got Scholar to 90, and I think it's definitely one of the better looking ones (ignoring most of it's job gear anyway, those are usually bad). Astrologian is the most complicated, mainly because you also have mini-games to juggle, but pretty satisfying to learn, if a bit steep. Sage is just... Do you like the sci-fi stuff in Final Fantasy? Lasers and more lasers. Looks good, has sort of a "stance" button that changes the effects of their abilities. As for Dark Knight being the "least defensive" I would argue not, I personally think Gunbreaker is the least defensive, but that's likely due to a single ability that Dark Knight has. The Blackest Night is hands down one of the best abilities in the game, but it's also what makes or breaks Dark Knight. Aside from MP management below level 70, there's not much more to Dark Knight, TBN is just... REALLY fun in my opinion. Short cooldown, a full shield worth of mitigation, costs MP, and ironically rewards you if the enemies break the shield by letting you cast one of your offensive MP abilities for free.
Monk is a class for people who want to always be hitting a button and having something happen immediately. Frankly, it is more fun than most of the melee jobs and is not as hard to grasp as people think. You have 3 sets of combos but they all lead into each other. One set of 3 are AoEs, one set are basic single target hits (for most damage) and the third are basic single target hits that have a little extra (Like a DoT, or a DMG boost or extra extra damage if you ended the previous combo with a certain closer).
Oh man, as a MNK main, you're missing out! Grab some Punching Gloves or Pagos Field Dressing and Emperor's New Fists and you're a badass martial artist whose only weapon is his body! The rotation can be a bit fickle and we don't talk about the post-ARR job storyline, but I have loved this class the day I got FFXIV. It's understandably not for everyone, though, but you do get some really cool glams out of it like the Tantra and Pacifist's sets
As a player that's leveled every job to max and will occasionally play even the jobs I like the least, here's my take. Tanks - Paladin is my favorite, having used it as one of my co-mains when leveling. Dark Knight and Gunbreaker are fun but feel squishy to me in comparison. Warrior is my least favorite, although I'm not sure I can articulate why. Healers - I love playing healers and mained one back in WoW. Sage is my favorite as it basically lets me dps while healing the tank and has the most complex play style. White Mage is the runner up. Scholar is okay. Astrologian is my least favorite due to the card mechanic which feels like superfluous distraction from healing and dpsing duties. Casters - Black Mage is my favorite simply for how differently it plays from pretty much any other job. Physical Ranged DPS - Dancer is my favorite as I try to maintain the dps chain. Bard and Machinist both feel like I'm hitting targets with wet noodles, and there seems little rhyme or reason to what order I use their skills in beyond "use whatever is off cooldown". Melee DPS - I actually like most of them. My least favorite among them are Monk and Ninja for the same reason Bard and Machinist are; their attacks don't feel all that impactful or damaging. Blue Mage - I like the concept and the spell collecting and the occasional OP abilities, but it feels like most of the spells are useless due to most combos relying on inflicting debuffs that bosses are immune to. Also, NEW BLU CONTENT COMING THIS TUESDAY!
Too late, already subscribed. XD I love bard, it is my main class, but I'm actually kind of surprised you said it was easy. Haha. A lot of people tend to complain that it requires paying too much attention to your rotation and your dot upkeep and the fact that the songs actually change in subtle ways how you should use your rotation to maximize cut offs.
Reaper and Gunbreaker for me even though tank anxiety still gets me. Sage if I ever healed in this game lol. Cuz lazers and tech sounds. A mage I guess would be Red Mage cuz it's fun.
Scholar is the chad class. it's casting heals inbetween your global cooldown so you never stop attacking. I hate that it's so looked down on becuase it's genuinely my favorite class to play and will always be my default. Sure it could use some changes, but no more than any other class. The way it plays at 90 is really smooth with the recent changes to Aetherflow.
I never once would have claimed to main a role until very recently. I have always switched a lot between healer and tank and occaisionally dps. I just recently got my WAR to lvl 80 and ohhhh my god it is so much fun! I have started to say it is my favourite class now
As a resident dark knight main, please play dark knight. First off, the storyline is incredible. They liked the writing so much that she (the writer for drks quest) got promoted to writing for endwalker. So if you like story then play it for that, at least. Saying its the best one storywise isn't saying anything but it's actually really good so give it a chance for at least that. Second, you gotta level it up more to become really fun. At around level 70, i think its 72 to be exact you get this ability called the blackest night. Its my favorite ability in the whole game. I also call it the kill button. Its used during pulls and tankbusters. So what it does is that its a sheild and once it breaks after you get hit enough you get a free use of one of your damage spells. Then it also has the best tank invulnerability, imo. The best one is definitely paladins but i like drks a lot. I mean, you HAVE to die in order for it to work but you get back to full health its great. I also like how you have to sweat a bit to survive. At higher levels its easier cause you get a lot of mitigations. I cant remember what level you have all of them by but at a certain point you have 5 (one of them has 2 charges). I personally find it a really satisfying and fun tank, but man you have to give it a try. At least take it to 80 for the story its very good.
Bro. I died as your rating got to the healers xDDDD Beside the fact u helped a lot in finding my class and race to start with. You make hilarious content
boy i seriously loved the aesthetic of dragoon and thought i was gonna main it. then i started getting super tired of the self/party buffs. reaper and sam just feel so much better for melee imo
I thought I’d never level all my stuff but 10 years of roulettes later and here I am…max level everything. You might like dancer more than you think, I didn’t think I would like it but then technical step nuke turned out to be extremely fun. When you can physically see the aoe chunk 30 mobs….mmmm money. XD
I live how funny and true this is. Also the best part is the music of animal crossing behind it Loving this honesty funny type of videos 🎉 Also your glamour are awesome!
white mage main here !! as some super scatter brained, i often forgot to hit my lucid dreaming. lucid dreaming is only important (to me) in level 65 and below content, because i got lilies :) and mp free heals (tetragram, and then thin air :3) but it got so bad i had to make a macro explaining how small brained i was
Just commented on the race video from a few months back, now let's see what you say about my main Job choice. Just be careful, I do carry a sword that can make you explode. You have been warned. Edit after watching: I do have redmage, reaper and dancer on max level. Dancer is not hard to play I think. Rotation is basically press the glowy button, with a base rotation that consists of 2 abilities. But I don't dislike it. Reaper looks really cool and feels good to play in my opinion. Redmage gets REALLY fun at max level, your melee combo feels and looks awesome. Gunbreaker S-Tier. Okay, I don't have to explody-sword you. Good for you. :D
I subscribed! Started out as PLD and liked it. Switched to BLM because I wanted a caster. Then leveled a RDM and really liked that job. Next I moved to WAR and DRG. Really like playing both. I think those two have been more fun than the others. I switch back and forth between the last two, but am really enjoying DRG.
The Paladin gets far more satisfying at later levels, level 50 with the paladin is not fun but once you get to level 65-70, it gets way more fun. Oh by the way, for paladin you get clemency which heals you & 50% of your life even if you use Clemency on other party members & you get the skill cover which allows you to take the damage meant for a chosen party member. (Use it on the healers.) I feel like I should tell you that Paladin slso gets Hallowed Ground which is perfect as a fight saver because it makes you impervious to most damage for about 7 seconds I believe.
As a DNC main that’s trying really, really hard to main DRG, the rotation’s so good. Like it’s REALLY good. I don’t know how they managed to make an RNG-based rotation feel so good but I genuinely find it difficult to justify bringing anything else if I’m not really trying that hard. The burst phase is just mashing your oGCDs frantically and trying desperately not to overcap any of your meters. :V But no seriously, it feels great and I’d be interested to hear what you think after you get to 90.
age of conan dark templar will always be my favorite class in mmos. Because life taps/leech/bloodforaid. basically the more damage you do the more you heal yourself so whenever i play a game i look for the class most like that and hope it's a tank
My Mains what i play Tank: (also Tank in Endgame Content like Savage or Ultimate) DRK (prefer in Raids) and PLD (prefer in Dungeons, play it only in raids when DRK is taken) Meeles: Reaper but also Monk but didnt play a while and need a warm up again :D Caster: Summoner... yeah.. i know easy class, but i love the fact that SMN and RDM can rezz.. what sometimes can save a fight :D Physical Range: Tbh i dont play any of them currently.. maybe i learn MCH can be funny, some people sad his rotation is so busy like DRK :D Healer: Sage most of the time or Astrologian.
You were correct that SMN has less “casting” than BLM. RDM does as well! BLM is a “turret” type class where you plant yourself and cast longer (but stronger) spells and move as little as possible! But SMN, especially the current version, it has one small phase with longer cast times but it mostly has instant casts so you have a lot more freedom of movement! RDM is the same as well with Dualcast, and their melee rotation, they can move a lot more in general combat. 💜
The healers- I'd say white mage is the easiest to learn, the difficult part about white mage is the MP management. The other three healers require a level of proactive play, a.k.a you need to know the fight well. Scholar, The shields are a bit stronger and slower than sage, and there's more of a damage reduction as opposed to a flat heal type gameplay. but both are quite similar otherwise. Astro, massive heals, but they longer. I used to play astro, but switched to scholar when nocturnal sect was removed.
Could have changed but last I checked SAM was second highest aDPS right behind BLM but honestly that kinda checks out since BLM is far harder to play imo.
I was astro because before it was a shield healer, since they changed it, as healer i use sage, and its FLASHY, like a red mage which is my main dps class, and warrior god lord i agree with you, the barbarian feeling with it. mouahhh perfect
I despise that Summoner and Scholar share experience because I use the leveling to practice the jobs, having a separate job level while you're practicing another is so annoying. I don't know how to properly use Scholar, but I'm great at Summoner.
Cries in dancer main! lmao. I am an idol irl and so i role play that in the game and dancing is my life irl so in game i love it. I get to throw things at bosses and run away then do a little dance. It is so much fun I hope you do give it a chance one day.
As a summoner main, The only thing I dont like about the class are the egi. Them not doing anything is annoying. They should give all summons auto attack. That includes the level 90 pets.
Very enjoyable presentation of your thoughts on these Jobs. I generally play DPS, so GNB feels like a natural bridge to tanking for someone like me. The rotation and oGCDs of GNB are fun, though I'm not a huge fan of Superbuttclench. RDM becomes more fun when Vercure (54) and Verraise (64) become available -- nice for avoiding party wipes when stuff goes way south... and the LB3 is possibly the most hilariously overdone animation of the lot.
some of thesee only being early is pain, cuz honestly yeah palidin pre-60s is SUPER boring and dull and thats with it being my main tank. any time I queue it to early duties I just groan with how tedious things are about to get. late stages I love the hell out of it though
I haven't tried any casters/magic users (except for BLU) but my favorite classes that I do have in order is Reaper, Dark Knight, Paladin, Ninja, Dragoon, Samurai, and Monk.
I have everything maxed out and i use scholar the most, the amount of damage reduction and the crit buff mesh togheter really well to make one of the best support healers. Also the most busted skill in the game, AOE sprint.
Levelling the monk up rn so I can play it through the rest of stormblood (still very early in the expansions lolol) ! The combos are a lot of fun but I find they can be a little overwhelming to get used to 😅 this is why I could never be a healer I am terrible at making quick decisions LOL Aside from that I agree the monk aesthetic is not rlly my thing, especially not for the personality I imagine my character to have. But the idea of him simply punching things to death fits him SO much I can look past it 😂
Comparing sage and scholar Scholar has a big beefy shield, with cooldowns and a couple mitigations And a dome mitigation Meanwhile sage has less shield strength, but can be used immediately and when it wants to Has a dome mitigation that gets applied to the people rather then just placed in one spot
I'd definitely recommend you try healing sometime, unlike other mmorpgs, you're pretty much just a green dps that uses OGCD's to heal. Also, since this is the internet and you have an opinion, I must comment that you are completely wrong. Jk of course, just feeding the youtube algorithm and subbed :D
Machinist doesn't have a lot of guns Also Machinist: Rifle, Pistol, Crossbow, Flamethrower, Gasspreader, Shotgun, BOMBS, A LITERAL DRILL SHOOTER, probably some other ones that I don't know cause I haven't played Machinist in a while, but yeah they got a lot of guns once you think about it xD
I have a love/hate relationship with Summoner right now, as it's my current job for this raid tier Conceptually, I love it. I love the primal summoning mechanics (I just wish there were a little more to it visually like your character actually sprouting Garuda's wings for example), I like how mobile it is, you're basically a physical ranged until you summon Ifrit, that's when the game is like "by the way, you're supposed to be a caster", but at the same time I find its gameplay a liiiiiiittle bit braindead. I wish they could have found a perfect middle ground between trying to make it feel like an actual summoner using the powers of the primals while maintaining some of the complexity the job had back in Stormblood, where pets still mattered. Anyway, that's my rant 😅I love the new things Summoner got added to it, but I wish some of the older things had been kept as well
I've played a total of 3 classes and 2 of them I only just unlocked lol. I started with Dragoon and have levelled it to 55 so far, and I just unlocked Red Mage and Samurai. Not sure which of them I'm going to continue into Heavensward with yet. I'm probably going to use the end of A Realm Reborn to play around with the two new classes. I'm also very interested in trying out Reaper, Ninja, Bard, Dancer, Gunbreaker and Sage, maybe Blue Mage too. I'll probably unlock and try all of them out to see what feels right to me.
Astro is imho very much just better White Mage, its less pure heals in exchange for more party buffs, and almost all of the abilities are gorgeous to look at, just check out the L60 and the L62 abilities when you can, theyre absolutely beautiful
i think the fact we level Scolar and Sumoner together at the same time is actually terrible.. I leveled all jobs and yet because of this.. i know absolutely nothing about Scolar, and it doesnt help that i completely lost all interest in healers in EW either. MNK is my favorite DPS job :P
I am a dps main, though I did get every job to 90. My favorites are Summoner (my starter), Red Mage, Samurai, Dragoon and Machinist. I do enjoy playing the rest too. Those are my main go-tos though.
Well play alittle with the SMN more. The summon abilities, in my opinion, are pretty cool. That said I main a sage, it's another shield healer, reaper, and drk. I like to keep myself well rounded with classes.
Roasting, wholesome edition
SMN base-gameplay is unlocked at 26, MNK on 30. If you don't like the Gameplay at that point you won't Like it at all
Basically stating that you never played DNC and yet you saying you might try it sometime soon anyways is truly wholesome. Mad respect. :D
"I'm going to roast your job" proceeds to roast him self for not playing all the classes
He played himself.
"I'm gonna get the most hate comments on this video guys!!"
-Proceeds to make the most honest and polite tier list ive ever seen-
I'm a Paladin main and if the aesthetic of the job isn't your vibe then its never going to be.
Nothing was roasted in this video.
He’s just too nice of a guy/hrothgar.
@@hortehighwind8651 Hrothguy
@matthewa.seibert1809 oh god, I just realized, soon there will be HrothGUY and HrothGIRL XD
@@jacobybarra907 A HrothGall
Very disappointed at the clickbait title obviously he's never seen a roast
SAME HERE !!! Love my Dancer
There's nothing more cathartic than putting a fat fat fat shield on someone and the boss doing 0 damage lol
as the first healer I learned to play Scholar has been great fun.
It also feels very intuitive to me at least - the class is about making sure people don’t get low, not pulling them back once they do
*SGE* is the healer I find weird and janky, though I’m always in the minority when I say that.
For mnk,it gets fast and ends up feeling like a fighting game with combos.
as an Astro main. I beg you to please remove undraw from your hotbar. You will never in your life and your children's lives ever use that button
Thank you xD
Hesken: Hello! This video is about my personal opinion on things I like or don't like.
The internet: You have made a grave mistake.
After I finish Paladin, I plan to start Gunbreaker. I do love playing it.
Ah yes, the invul that can still get you killed depending on how the server feels that day. Heart of Co is the best tank-mit thou, I give you that.
Warrior is even more broken, it has the shortest cooldown and they can even heal themselves back up
@@nothisispatrick5691 I would agree, but GNB not only has Regen, but they also have Heart of Co and a built-in combo heal with the base combo you use.
The job identity of FFXIV has been watered down so much. If I had to assign a spice to all of the jobs, they would all be flour.
'Woah, fuck, why am I jumping' you've done it, you've summarized Red Mage in one sentence xD
Said as someone who's fav caster is Red Mage...
you're not jumping you're casting *sword* , _with style_
Scholar isn't in a bad spot by any means. It just works better the more you know a fight and what you can get away with. Plus, the ability to give someone twice their health bar in shields is neat.
Having a party-wide crit buff and party-wide sprint (that also mitigates damage) is also nice.
Gunbreaker all the way, it's the only class i played other than dragoon to unlock gunbreaker, I'm by far not the best player to ever use it, but I have a blast playing it (pun intended).
I dislike how dragoon backflipping over poison puddles still poisons me
so,,, basically, you just dislike the aesthetic of every job besides summoner and gnb
I relate to your wholesomeness I usually feel too bad to roast stuff 😅
Also I'd love to see how your opinions change when you've played things more!!
amazing tier list gonna say as a caster main yeah black mage is weird (i only level'd it to 90 to prove to myself i could) summoner is my main and like ppl say the rotation is just crayon eating but hey i'm fine with some classes being simple. red mage i leveled cause as a kid i loved zoro and fencing so i asked my red mage GF to teach me (and now i have a complex with beating healers to rez first).
Ah, yes. Opinions. So much internal screaming. Fun video, though. I'd love to see another one when you get them all to max level
Paladin is way more fun at higher levels with all the ranged skills, party protecc options and a bit of extra mobility. Also he sparkly af. But level 50 and below is big boring.
Caster / Healer roegadyn main and here r some summary of each job
Black Mage = Semi stationary nuke.
If you meet a Roe or Hroth astro you’re almost guaranteed a smooth run.)
Scholar = the Fairy summon can carry the heals… As far as ARR contents.
As a MNK main I'm just happy to not be at the bottom of the list for a change lol
I completely understand not having touched red mage yet due to playing other things. Though as a RDM main working his way through ultimates, watching you use your melee combo unenchanted took *years* off my life. :P
Dragoon is best class! Amazing video as always Hesken 🤧✨
I’ve never really tanked before, and after seeing the memes on how low brow warrior tanking is, I decided to give it a try…
And I unironically love it. I especially love that despite being a “tank”, the offense is still pretty entertaining.
Just got Fell Cleave and my 1st? 2nd? Self healing spell not counting the combo.
Sorry for typing a book. Nonetheless thank you for this video!
Imagine none of your fav jobs making it above C tier.... lmao
0:14 Min.: Its YOUR opinion, so why should i hate you for it? No reason. I can think outher way. But hey everyonce have a taste. If you wants to see my mindset: Watch avater the last air bender and pay closly attation to what oncle iroh says. I learned much form him and addept many of his wisdom ^^
My main is Astro and crafter/gather. Make love under the stars is a expriese that i highly recomant everyonce ^^
But we got a bit side tracked got we.
I mean you will hear this realy often but i throught its maybe good if i stroke your ego even futher beyond, because your videos makes me happy so i wants to see you also happy with ONLY telling you what i truely think about your chara :3
Have a great day big kitty and stay healthy ^^
XD
If you don't mind, I'm gonna share my own opinions on a few of the jobs because you inspired me to share. :)
SCH was actually my healer of choice from the start (I'm a filthy healer main. :D
I get what you mean about MNK, it felt so awful at early levels, so much that I was actually gonna stop leveling it. :)
DNC's story quests were also some of the better ones imo. That and its utility and how dynamic it feels means it's my ranged DPS I can fall back on. That and seeing my big fluffy cat-man dancing to the beat as he slices enemies up with his chakrams makes me smile. :D
Agreed on PLD.
XD
Thanks again for the awesome video, it was very entertaining! :D
I personally was expecting gunbreaker to be my least favorite job but then I tried it and played it for a while and it just feels the best for me, it goes so smooth and its fun so now it's my favorite lol. I'm mostly a tank main tho.
I main a ninja I love the swift paced action as for Healer while I main a Astrologian I love the theme and aesthetic of the White mage.
Also, NEW BLU CONTENT COMING THIS TUESDAY!
finally subscribed because i've watched so dang many vids but never realized i wasn't subbed. Sorry for the delay - your videos are glorious!
Too late, already subscribed. XD
I love bard, it is my main class, but I'm actually kind of surprised you said it was easy. Haha. A lot of people tend to complain that it requires paying too much attention to your rotation and your dot upkeep and the fact that the songs actually change in subtle ways how you should use your rotation to maximize cut offs.
Get classes to 90 then remake this video please. I need a follow up lol samurai especially becomes fun at 90. Low level its biring af.
Bro. I died as your rating got to the healers xDDDD
Beside the fact u helped a lot in finding my class and race to start with.
Also the best part is the music of animal crossing behind it
Loving this honesty funny type of videos 🎉
Also your glamour are awesome!
white mage main here !! as some super scatter brained, i often forgot to hit my lucid dreaming. lucid dreaming is only important (to me) in level 65 and below content, because i got lilies :) and mp free heals (tetragram, and then thin air :3) but it got so bad i had to make a macro explaining how small brained i was
Just commented on the race video from a few months back, now let's see what you say about my main Job choice.
fun fact: monk was set as a tank class in the beta testing. and since it had NO skills to be a tank, they moved it to dps.
(Use it on the healers.)
I feel like I should tell you that Paladin slso gets Hallowed Ground which is perfect as a fight saver because it makes you impervious to most damage for about 7 seconds I believe.
But no seriously, it feels great and I’d be interested to hear what you think after you get to 90.
I HAVE AN OPINON AND-
DANG IT, NOW I'M SUBSCRIBED!
i play all of them and i feel very attacked from all sides
The fits are incredible
age of conan dark templar will always be my favorite class in mmos. Because life taps/leech/bloodforaid. basically the more damage you do the more you heal yourself so whenever i play a game i look for the class most like that and hope it's a tank
My Mains what i play
Tank: (also Tank in Endgame Content like Savage or Ultimate) DRK (prefer in Raids) and PLD (prefer in Dungeons, play it only in raids when DRK is taken)
Meeles: Reaper but also Monk but didnt play a while and need a warm up again :D
Caster: Summoner... yeah.. i know easy class, but i love the fact that SMN and RDM can rezz.. what sometimes can save a fight :D
Physical Range: Tbh i dont play any of them currently.. maybe i learn MCH can be funny, some people sad his rotation is so busy like DRK :D
Healer: Sage most of the time or Astrologian.
As a MNK main this tier list is *devastating* 🤣
The healers- I'd say white mage is the easiest to learn, the difficult part about white mage is the MP management.
The other three healers require a level of proactive play, a.k.a you need to know the fight well.
Scholar, The shields are a bit stronger and slower than sage, and there's more of a damage reduction as opposed to a flat heal type gameplay. but both are quite similar otherwise.
Astro, massive heals, but they longer.
I used to play astro, but switched to scholar when nocturnal sect was removed.
Could have changed but last I checked SAM was second highest aDPS right behind BLM but honestly that kinda checks out since BLM is far harder to play imo.
the absolute confusion in healer group
big mood
I really like the summoner and the best part is you level up scholar at the same time. I startet with summoner and now i've both on 90.
I was astro because before it was a shield healer, since they changed it, as healer i use sage, and its FLASHY, like a red mage which is my main dps class, and warrior god lord i agree with you, the barbarian feeling with it. mouahhh perfect
i love how he literally has the smallest reaper weapon and still calls it huge
I despise that Summoner and Scholar share experience because I use the leveling to practice the jobs, having a separate job level while you're practicing another is so annoying. I don't know how to properly use Scholar, but I'm great at Summoner.
Cries in dancer main! lmao. I am an idol irl and so i role play that in the game and dancing is my life irl so in game i love it. I get to throw things at bosses and run away then do a little dance. It is so much fun I hope you do give it a chance one day.
Hesken: "I don't know why this is my outfit for blue mage, don't ask!"
Me sipping on tea: "mhm.... I definitely know why." *smirks*
Goon squad reporting for duty, time to backflip off of the Eden Titan arena
I have everything maxed out and i use scholar the most, the amount of damage reduction and the crit buff mesh togheter really well to make one of the best support healers. Also the most busted skill in the game, AOE sprint.
Haven't seen the video yet. But If i hear you smack talk Dragoons, me and my boi Estinien are gonna be knocking on your door.
Update: Your good fam.
Levelling the monk up rn so I can play it through the rest of stormblood (still very early in the expansions lolol) ! The combos are a lot of fun but I find they can be a little overwhelming to get used to 😅 this is why I could never be a healer I am terrible at making quick decisions LOL
Aside from that I agree the monk aesthetic is not rlly my thing, especially not for the personality I imagine my character to have. But the idea of him simply punching things to death fits him SO much I can look past it 😂
Comparing sage and scholar
Scholar has a big beefy shield, with cooldowns and a couple mitigations
And a dome mitigation
Meanwhile sage has less shield strength, but can be used immediately and when it wants to
Has a dome mitigation that gets applied to the people rather then just placed in one spot
With NIN you walk and run 10% faster than other classes.
Machinist doesn't have a lot of guns
Also Machinist: Rifle, Pistol, Crossbow, Flamethrower, Gasspreader, Shotgun, BOMBS, A LITERAL DRILL SHOOTER, probably some other ones that I don't know cause I haven't played Machinist in a while, but yeah they got a lot of guns once you think about it xD
As a healer (all of them) and DNC main, I’m crushed to find out my favorite Hrothgar finds both my interests unappealing 😔
As a bard main when I play a song: I'm helping :)
Now I just wanna see you "roast" the crafters and gatherers....
I have a love/hate relationship with Summoner right now, as it's my current job for this raid tier
Conceptually, I love it.
Anyway, that's my rant 😅I love the new things Summoner got added to it, but I wish some of the older things had been kept as well
Just made me happy as a fellow Dragoon main, and it is funny but devastating when you leap to your doom
Summoner gets really fun in the 80s. You should definitely give it a go!🙂
samurai's really cool, idc if people think it's easy and selfish i just love being a weeb, slash animations and sounds and dealing massive damage
Machinist isn't my favorite job, but I did really like the jobs quests and story around that.
