It has been very interesting and the concept need not be limited to larger acreage...a small amount of research will help you find the invasive plants installed by the builder...get rid of those and plant natives after you do the research to find out what is native in your area. If enough people in an HOA get together, they can change rules requiring turf grass - that can be replaced by really nice looking native grasses that require no mowing. If enough people act in this way, wildlife will have much more backyard habitat. You can make a difference.

For others that run into the issue of “wavy” or humps and dips, grade in reverse. You will have to pay attention to what you are doing. But you change the geometry of the dips and rises by going in reverse.

My Frontier box blade with additional suitcase weights is on my 1025R or a tiller, or shredder. I never operate without that additional weight and with the leverage of those implements sticking out a bit further on the iMatch quick hitch, it makes a huge difference.
By using the 3 point to hook up the pull type box blade you can change the pitch of the blade which can make dig in
Last month, I spread 120 yards of fill to expand my driveway. The base layer was either 1.5 inch clear stone or crushed recycled concrete. Then, I added 3/4 inch road crush as the top. I levelled the drive with the bucket and box blade. The JD 2025R made the job so much easier.

Fabric has its place. Good on swampy ground to stop the mud coming through the rock until it settles. Any time you don’t want your rock and the ground below mixing
I have to agree with you Tim on three point counterweight. My first winter with my kioti ck2610 I used my bucket for snow removal without any counterweight and thought it did fine, yes rear tires are loaded. The last three years I have had counterweight on the rear and got to admit that it is night and day difference. Summertime I have no counterweight on rear because it works in the woods and it has a a- frame type three point implement for hooking chain on to drag out logs. Keep videos coming. I picked up the new-to-us 3046R yesterday and helped my neighbor move a dump truck load of wet sand into his peacock enclosures. No 3-pt ballast yet, but the large rear tires are full to the top with ballast. Holy cow, you were right! It'll pick up a full bucket of sand to full height with no problem, and holy cow it turns tight! I was in A going really slow, but the very fine speed control is way nicer than I'm used to with the 5320 sync shuttle!

Hi...to clarify, even if the government wanted to sell the land in the future, the deed prevents that action in perpetuity. 3 lawyers and two accountants made sure we got that part right!
Inevitably that will become the home of more homes and not nature. No matter how many legally binding contracts are in place to prevent it. Imagine the habitat before.
Nah, not here. Hamilton County will preserve it as a park.
@@TractorTimewithTim I sure hope so. We once had a 40 acre “nature preserve” area full of walking and biking trails. It’s now the home of around 100 homes with plans to expand and build another 150. All cookie cutter poorly built $250k+ structures!
The answer to making sure the forest stays wild in perpetuity is in the way the deed is structured. If that is not done correctly, loopholes exist.
The load out at the quarry can screw things up. If they don’t load out a pile right in relation of how it was put up they can load out 3 different products from the same pile.
I tried to run my 1025 without ballast (cost prohibitive) and it felt completely out of control. Built a home made box that fit into the 3 point receiver hitch and put 400lbs of sandbags in it. night and day difference and pretty darn cheap to build (cost of some 2x2 square tubing and sandbags)
See where I am from we used ABC or 2 inch Minus for base rock. That way it has fines to lock it in.
I think "2 inch minus" is similar to our "53's" ...well, our typical 53's. This load was mainly dust!

You don't need to use geotextile fabric unless the ground is very wet. Watching you with that pull behind box blade makes me realize why I'll never run one - they suck. Give me a 3 pt box any day. 3 pt box blades take some skill tough.

There is no way I could handle dealing with a hoa if I pay for something I will paint it purple if I want or mow the grass when I feel like it might as well move to china.
Thankfully, we are not governed by HOA rules. However, the surrounding HOAs have been generally quite interested in what we are doing and some of the residents are helping us remove invasive plants on their HOA common forest area!

I’m a heavy equipment technician for a Komatsu dealer and we see a range of hours being put on the machines each year and your not to far off from actual contractors!

Hey tim I have question for you when do you think jd will redesign the 1 series it has been the same basic design for about 10 years now I purchased a bx Kubota in 2023. I want add another small unit to my fleet and was considering the 1 series but kinda waiting to see if they redesign it
There have been MANY small redesigns over the years. These have added up to fairly significant changes.
This turns out to be a big advantage of the 1025r. Compatibility over the years. Accessories and attachments fit the entire history of this tractor.
Based on the success of this approach, I do not foresee a major redesign in the near future. Just small changes …which maintain compatibility, but still make small improvements.

We try to use em both …
Road fabric is a pain in the butt. If you have to box blade the driveway to pull some of the dust up, or to break up potholes, you always hit the road fabric also and pull it up. I just put the #2s down unless it is very soft ground under the #2s. Then I have put road fabric down, then a lot of #2s. Then I finish up with #73s which is 3/4" down to dust. The #53s are 1" down to dust and they are basically intended to be a middle layer.
The professionals will put #2s first, then the #53s, then either the #73s or #10s (no dust) as a top layer.
