Drove by Dan's shop a few years ago because my son in law is in the Navy and was Stationed in Virginia. Decided to just drive by to see the place as it was late and not expecting to see anyone. We were walking around the shop just star struck with the place and Dan comes out the back with Lady and invites us in and gives us a quick tour of the place . What a true Gentleman. Will ne er forget how generous he was with his time. THANKS AGAIN DAN ....🍷

Dan I'm so glad you're back on the air especially in a better situation TH-cam Forever. PS I had a 6288 convertible white white two-door I love that car at a valve seal job done on it for a lousy $25 at a gas station and they knew what they were doing but that was way back in 65 66. Great car. Keep up the great videos mile marker Mikey Trenton Michigan 78 year old retired Telephone Man

I simply love Dan's philosophy. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's no good and should be thrown away. There's beauty and history in old things that have stories to tell us, we only need to listen. Dan is so passionate it is difficult to not be swayed by him. I loved the show and am thrilled to see the shop is still restoring memories.

Always loved and respected Dan's attitude. If I was getting a car restored he is the guy to do it. No short cuts. You know the car will be safe and correct. Those shows that did a car in 2-3 weeks you know it is rubbish.

Love the history of the building and the tools. It is fun to see you all do much more than restoring vintage cars and bikes. Love to see that. It reminds me of my love of restoring mechanical watches. And my mate who has loads of original machines from the late 19hunderds and early 20th century. He is making a lot of parts himself to. It is to keep the arts of restoring good things active, to do things the right way.

I always really enjoyed the series Fantom Works. Dan time and again, demonstrated his honesty and hard work ethos. He never preached his great values, for him it is what it is. . . .No BS. His engineering and mechanical skills and knowledge are second to none, in humble opinion. Now here he is speaking on his work in his workshop. Equally his speaking abilities are amazing, like previous comments, I could listen to Dan Short all day. If Dan reads this he'll probably laugh his head off. Such is the real humility of this man. I would take my car to Fantom Works and no one else. I have a 63 Kennedy and I live in New Zealand.

I tried to meet Dan during SEMA 2017 when he debuted the all metal, I think it was the 67 fastback Mustang. He was so busy talking to prospective buyers that I never got the chance, but man what an interesting guy. I really admire his business acumen and wish him and his team the very best moving forward.

Dan, I spent 37 years in dealerships as a service advisor, manager and parts manager. The body shop was not for me.
I retired and decided to get my father’s Shelby Dakota resprayed. Was quoted 6k.
Final # was $25k but I have no regrets. The body work is flawless. Plus there was probably a dozen ( we might as well we’re here items. Usually my suggestions.
The material flat rate lesson blew me away.
    Thanks
Love your new format and I understand leaving tv

I don't think there is an episode of Fantom works show that I only saw once. I was stationed at NAS Norfolk for A little over two years way back in the mid 60's and so watching the show was A treat, partially for that reason. I enjoyed my time in Norfolk immensely. I had a 1965 Excalibre to take care of for a lady, it sat on a Studebaker frame, it had a Chevy 327/300 engine, a borg/warner T-10 4 spd. trans with a 2.20 low gear, with a 3.24 ten bolt Posi read-end. The body was fiber glass and aluminum, it only came with a tonneau cover, no cloth top. Just a "Fair weather" car, lol. I hope this helps, Dan, if at all. The purchase price back then was $6,000.00. The Chevy Corvette didn't reach 6 grand until 1969, it came with the L/88 engine.

Excalibur automobiles were made complete in Milwaukee WI, I had 3 different friends that worked there throughout the years. Literally 1000's of complete cars were produced there. They went out of business around 1990. See Dan, I taught an old dog a new trick and don't worry, I'm an even older dog than you..

@@rcorn79135 Perhaps, but in this case, the term in my opinion doesn't fit the product. I consider most T-buckets kit cars, Excalibur no. A.O. Smith was local also and did frames for cars and trucks at the time, why not take advantage of that local connection for production purposes ? I like Dan, but he's misguided this time around.
