Greetings from China. I went to the China-Russia-North Korea border 4 years ago, on the Chinese side the observation tower is a tourist site called Fangchuan(防川). The thing impressed me most is that there are no patrols or fences on the Sino-Russian border. However, even though the border between China and North Korea is separated by a very wide river, there are barbed wire fences three to four meters high with high voltage electricity and lots of cameras on the Chinese side, while the patrolling soldiers on the North Korean side are clearly visible.

@@noahsrebels Yes. There are many escapees from North Korean in border cities of Northeast China (especially in 90s and 00s), most of them just sneak into China to work for a higher salary, and a small number of people want to smuggle into a third country (usually Mongolia or some Southeast Asian countries) through China and then reach South Korea. If these North Korean smugglers are caught by the Chinese police, they will be sent back to North Korea immediately, where they will be shot and hanged...

Every time I think about this place, I consider it as a national humiliation of China. The land belonged to China for thousands of years, however, it was ceded to Russia 160 years ago, resulting in the complete loss of coastline of the sea of Japan and two coast provinces(Heilongjiang and Jilin) becoming landlocked provices. The distance between Fangchuan and the Sea of Japan is only 15 kilometers. Can you believe it? Only 15 kilometers make two big provinces become landlocked!

Nice video. I have crossed DPRK from Russia via train over that bridge with the fence, which the border guards openened during the crossing. The train was loaded with North-Korean workers, which we could talk freely to while in Russia (a chance you never get while in DPRK).. This was de most interesting border experience of my life.
Also it's interesting to know that lot's of cars in that area of Russia have the steering wheel on the right because they imported all these cars from Japan, when they drive on the other side.

That was interesting. Reminds me of a video I saw years ago about these journalists who were looking into North Korean logging camps in Russia. My memory of it is hazy but they came across a lone, bedraggled Korean logging. They got him to talk by giving him a cig and beer. He basically said he worked all day, every day, and sent money back to his family. He looked uneasy. I hope he didn’t get in trouble for that. It’s amazing to see how low key the Russian side of the border is at least.

Great! Russian grammar is very difficult :) As native I still sometimes check correctness of some words. It's logical to write хорошОе like красивОе or приятнОе, but correct is хорошее I don't know why 😂 We Russians understand that our language is very difficult so we are very tolerant for any not native speaker. I hope I didn't killed your motivation

@@noot_2 Yes. We all are European civilizations :) In Russian many words from France, German, English and etc.
Also some bad news - we are now attacking Ukraine. It's very sad, mostly people are against it🥺 I think near 70% against this war, but our government is authoritarian and don't care

Страна то да, большая, много лесов и места, но толку то? Когда ты живешь в одном городе потому-что позволить себе путешествовать не можешь) И большая часть России это мерзлые земли, где постоянно холодно. Это как если-бы Аляска была наполовину США
