Thanks for including some costs involved Ken. It certainly is a time consuming process but worth it to find a nice Filipina!

One more note, on a K-1 visa, you must get married within 90 days after she arrives, not even after 91 days, it must be within 90 days.

My fiancé and I planned to marry in Leyte at her place but then found it that it would be much faster for her to come to U.S. on K1 visa. I used a fiancé visa to help do paperwork since I wasn’t confident enough to do on my own fearing I would make a mistake. I think they charged me 1000 for for both the Visa paperwork and AOS paperwork. Turned out that it still took 10 months to get it all processed because after the killings in California by a K1 visa couple, the U. S. became much more thorough on background checks. Very expensive no matter how you get it done.

Hi Ken, This is something I had to contend with but bringing my wife to Australia. Like you say each person needs to work out what's best for their own situation. I brought my wife to Australia and married her there (mainly on advice of a immigration agent). It's around $8000 now in Aus for a Partner visa I believe Plus the cost of a medical exam in Australia which was a couple of hundred dollars from memory. Good and helpful information Ken. Have a good day 🙂
