    Have you found a way to avoid having 1 image cut into 2 parts? Like maybe cut 24" and then pause the cricut and pull the tape back to cut the other half of the image or something similar?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, unfortunately there isn't a way to do that. The image will not even begin to cut unless it fits within the size limits in Design Space. The only way to do it is have it set up in 12 x 24 inch pieces.

    HOw do you make the design space with so many squares in it. (resize but how?) the slice button didn't come on, warning sign saying it was too big.

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will give you the warning sign but you will still be able to slice it into smaller pieces. When you are slicing them you need to make sure that you are making them the correct size. Just to be safe I usually make them about 11.5 x 23. Also, you are only able to slice 2 images at a time. If you have more than one selected you will not see the slice button. Hopefully that helps a bit.

  • @donnaprice2190

    I was so excited when I saw this video, but, I tried using an uploaded svg to make a 11” x 46” porch sign and my explore air wouldn’t allow it. I did not get the slice options with my squares. I also had to weld my design, does that make a difference?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will still be able to use the slice method. You just have to make sure that you only have two things selected. If you have more than 2 then it will not slice.

    Hi I'm a little confused. At 3:38 when you began to move the sliced pieces, you moved the rectangle and part of the letters that was sliced. Why didn't you have to move the other part of the letters when you removed the second rectangle?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Laurel, I only really sliced the one rectangle and not the other. It was just there to show you the sizing. Once I removed the first rectangle the second one was exactly the size I needed it. So, there really wasn't anything to slice out. Hopefully that helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

      Hi Cindy, In this video we are cutting the adhesive vinyl. We aren't actually printing everything. After it was cut then I weeded out the excess. Where I removed the excess is what you see in white. The pink is the vinyl left on the backing sheet. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We'd be happy to help.

    Can you do this with layered colors? Do you have a tutorial for that?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can, if you're using adhesive vinyl and certain HTVs you can just layer one on top of the other. Sometimes you will have to do the knockout method (slice on the Cricut)

    Okay can anyone help me?? I have a cricut explorer air. On my cricut design space, it will only go to 6 inches. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Anything I do bigger then 6 inches on the design space, it won't let me cut. So what am I doing wrong?? Please can anyone help me? I would like to make big decals like this. Thank you.

      You will want to make sure you have the correct machine selected in the upper right hand corner.

    Why doesnt it show in layer panal a yellow triangle because the image is to large? Is it because the type of image your using or because the laptop your using...?

      Hi Julie, this video was done before Cricut did the update in Design Space to show the yellow triangle. I we were to go back today and do that it would show on it.

    Looking for help please. I just purchased the Explore Air 2 yesterday so I am a newbie! I was following along with your video (which is very helpful, by the way) but I am running into a problem. I select my image in the layers field and I see the slice icon is black but when I hit control and one of my rectangles the slice icon goes gray so I am no longer able to use it. Not sure why. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Hi Donna, you want to make sure that you only have 2 images selected. Sometimes the images come in grouped together. When you select one look at the layers panel to see if you have the "Ungroup" option. If you do, then make sure that you ungroup it and then select the image and the rectangle. Hopefully this helps.
