It's cool that's how the devil wants us to feel. However... God has not given us a spirit of fear, etc. when that stinky devil comes around to harp about your past or tell you you're worthless whatever.
You just remind him of his future, In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!!! I would like you to memorize a short verse. James 4:7 Submit yourselves to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you. In Jesus Christ Mighty Name!!!

@jmbbk4737 Good question. The person in question is not really straggling on the line on whether to follow Jesus or stay with our status quo apart from the kingdom of God. (Hebrews 4 thus calls them to enter the eternal rest). The person is committed as a Christian but really stinks at being a Christian. So they continue sinning and repenting over again. There is need for encouragement. Need for accountability. Need for supernatural metamorphosis. They need to partake in the graces of Christ within the context of a healthy well-balance church.

People who are truly saved won't want to sin and feel terrible when they do. The Holy Spirit will convict you immediately. God knows your heart and mind. He knows you are truly resisting and fleeing. You are SAVED by GRACE alone, not by your ability to not sin. You don't work your way to heaven by not sinning. Gods GRACE through Christ saved you, not you sinning less.

Jesus Christ put sin away by His sacrifice.
I am not saying you should just go ahead and sin. Sin is horrible and God hates it, sin will kill you, don't sin.
But, if you do sin, thank Him for His forgiveness, get back on your feet and continue walking with Jesus.
In 1 John 2, John if any man sins we have an Advocate with the Father. He does not say refer back to 1:9.
That is also the only verse in NT that talks about confessing sin to God. Nowhere in Paul's epistles does it say we should do that.

    SEEK JUSTIFICATION (HOLINESS), NOT FORGIVENESS…
I was raised Nazarene (Protestant Catholic) and it was all about staying “prayed up” via an act of judicial forgiveness/confession…that is, until I’d decide to willfully sin again, which I’d do often…cause I thought I controlled my own spiritual destiny…and could always return to my faith, whenever I was finished sinning.
It was all very Wesleyan; very Arminian. And it didn’t work…so I quit…for almost 20 years.
Not until I was 46, after spending time as a Buddhist, the HS came calling…and for the first time, I was justified/sanctified/glorified…totally regenerated in a way I never was, growing up in a church family and playing the religion game for 2/3 of my life.

Scripture says Jesus is the propitiation or satisfactory payment for our sins, only death was enough of a payment for sin, he died once for sin, and you have been made righteous through his death, burial, and resurrection, not anything we do. Ephesians 2:8-9. 1 John 1:9 is for the Gnostics of Johns time, they claimed they never committed sin, we have realized we are all sinners if you are a believer, read verse 8 and 10, it is for sin deniers not born again believers. Read Romans 4:8-9 and 5:12-19 verse 13 says for until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. We are not under the law but under grace, we are not saved by works of righteousness that we have done, but by his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost. If your brother sins against you 7x in a day & repents 7x you must forgive him.

@@BingoNamo-gb8pz That was my point. We all have our struggles. Also remember the Lord's prayer. "Forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors."
My priest told me that we forgive others so that we may be forgiven.
This is also why we don't judge others, as we will be judged as we judge others.
Forgiveness is not just a good idea, it's a commandment of Christ our Lord.

You repent once, you’re wages of sin was paid for by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is the only way, you can’t earn 1%. Stop trying.

We do not sin every day thats is false, and an excuse! Grace is given not so we can continue to sin and not be held accountable for our sin. The wages of sin is death! Grace is so we can overcome sin and become holy, without spot or wrinkle, so on that day we can be presented to the Father dressed in white robes of righteousness, and not naked and ashamed before him. Jesus said he who overcomes shall be saved. Overcomes what? Sin! Paul’s said do we continue to sin because we are under grace? He answered, God Forbid! Do you not know you are a servant to whom you obey? To sin, unto death, or obedience unto righteousness, unto holiness, and eternal life! Proverbs 28:13 says,He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso (confesseth)and (forsaketh them) shall have mercy. And John said in 1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. And again in verse 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. It is false teaching that we sin everyday! Like we can’t help ourselves from sinning! Why then are we told to resist temptation? If we can not go without sinning? We are making God very small! Is he unable to keep us from committing sin? If the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, be in us, is he not able to give us self control and empower us to overcome sinning? What it is, is a modern day view, that allows us to not fear the Lord, and take pleasure in unrighteousness, and continue to commit sin, and use grace as an excuse to continue to sin! If you feared the Lord, you would stop choosing to sin. For it’s by the fear of the Lord, that men depart from evil!

Hebrews 10: 26 is about people who heard the clear gospel, witnessed the miracles, saw the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and rejected it outright in favor of returning to the animal sacrifices; nothing to do with loss of salvation at all.

@: You are mistaken friend. Read it in context, it’s talking about those who received Christ as Lord and Savior, got the touch of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the heavenly gift, it’s talking about all blood washed Christians. Next, there’s no such thing as once saved always saved. There are other things as well that can put your salvation in serious danger, the parable of the 10 virgins, the parable of the talents, or the branch that doesn’t bare fruit shall be cut off, or narrow is the gate that leads to life and there be few who find it…etc. it’s not just sin that can cut us off, but the lack of everything the Lord and His apostles commanded. Salvation has a beginning, a middle, and an end… workout your own salvation with fear and trembling, or he who endures to the end shall be saved. God help us wake up.

You have not come to the knowledge of the TRUTH if you believe you are saved. Salvation comes at the end. You get healed and then have to work out your Salvation. When you get knowledge of the TRUTH and you keep willingly sinning then you are in trouble.
    Hebrews 10:26
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,”
Your sins will have to be covered.
    1 Peter 4:8
    King James Version
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
It's a process. You are not going to stop sinning overnight. You will have a remission of sins. Your flesh will still want to sin. Your Spirit won't want to, unless you don't actually have the Spirit and willfully sin.
