Mine won’t idle. Full choke idles half choke revs it and no choke it will rev higher but then it dies. Gotta drop to full choke to keep it running. Second I press throttle… dead. WTF
Could be a few things but most likely it’s an issue with fuel delivery. The engine is not getting enough fuel. Choking it increases the fuel and decreases the air intake. I’d clean the carburetor out, swap your fuel lines and fuel filter. If you don’t want to clean it or don’t feel comfortable you can buy a complete kit for cheap. Make sure to check your model number and find the right one but I’ve used this exact kit with success on 2 of these machines. amzn.to/4cUnC2J Good luck! This model has a self loosening feature built into it. (I’m kidding but the tightening mechanism on this works very poorly and always loosens up considerably). After a minute of cutting it’s where it needs to be usually. But yeah good eye. Thanks!
@@mainelysmallengineDIY one question how many carb adjustments do you have on that engine? All I can find is the one for the idle, but been seeing some with a second that you need the single d tool to get to. Thanks
After I tuned up my Ryobi trimmer. The idle was so low it felt like it was going to turn off.
Thank you for showing us the idle screw.
Great! Glad it helped
Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for before turning screws on my own and messing something up.
Thanks. Mine will run will full throttle only. Which I think is a dirty carb lean condition, but know I know how to adjust idle now. good video !
Yeah you might just need to clean the carb. Unfortunately these don’t have any adjustments on them except the idle control.

Only an idle adjustment on that one as far as I know so it’s pretty limited as to what you can do.
Chain tight please losen
