There's just something about 2nd gen groups like this that's so unique, their music is timeless and, even though it never got even part of the success it truly deserved, it sticks with us. Sure, it wasn't a chart success but we remember it for years to come. I like to think gems like this become "cult classics" among the fans and I think ChoColat will live on in the minds of K-Pop fans. ChoColat, Rania, 9MUSES, Spica, Brave Girls, April Kiss, Hello Venus, C-REAL, Fiestar, Melody Day and so many others. They might have not captured global attention but their music will live on. I used to worry some groups could be forgotten as time goes on but it makes me happy when new K-Pop fans know them as well.
I would also say they (and everyone you listed above) are 3rd gen . 1st gen surely were h.o.t, sechskies, s.e.s, finkl, shinhwa and such, 2nd are dbsk, ss501, suju, big bang, wonder girls, snsd, kara and such, and then when everything was just about being catchy and colorful is when 3rd gen started, so probably already starting from BEAST and T-ara at the end of 2009~
The plot is similar to the Peter Pan story (the real one /aka the 'dark' version) where Tinkerbell falls in love with Peter, but he's too in love with Wendy to even notice. And therefore, Tinkerbell gets jealous. And the jealously turns into hatred.. therefore the song is called 'Black Tinkerbell'
Almost 7 years since it's release.... It's just sad Chocolat didn't get the recognition they deserve. I just randomly sang this song in my head and now I'm here watching this again this 2020. I can still remember totally digging the choreo on the chorus part, the hip thing is my fave! Plus the whole concept of black Tinkerbell, totally can relate, oh high school days 😂💖 I hope all the members are doing well these days and are happy.

this is honestly one of the most beautiful kpop songs. the meaning is deep, the tune is really catchy, and the choreo is also good. their voices are really nice. i really stan them and when they disbanded, i really got sad and it was a waste of talents.
I got here after looking up the dictionary cause the defintion of talent was written as "Chocolat".
Seriously, I know the company was so horrible and all that but these girls are amazing WHY DIDN'T WE SUPPORT THEM ENOUGH TO GET THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE I SWEAR K-POP IS SO UNFAIR ;(((

Hands down, this was the best comeback song of June 2013. Even better than my own fave group. No one can fight me on that.
I will always stand by my statement that their music started to get really right before they disbanded. The fact that the four them all knew English (the original line up had 1 non-English speaker) their label had a missed opportunity to go beyond Korea.

There is a interesting and old interview with Melanie in which she said why she did not renew her contract and why she wanted an out of that kpop world (search Melanie Kpopalypse interview), now I know she’s happily married and had a baby girl this year.

They didn't disband. I believe they are now a 5 member group but haven't promoted or had any comebacks since this song and adding the 5th member. I hope they do make a comeback. They're really talented and underrated
