I thought it was a short story but couldn't stop watching i eanted to see how it ended up sadly not what i expected for her . I wanted her to find a true love not a rat but enjoyed watching in the end her worth for herself was greater then she was willing to give to him anymore

Have no idea why I got so caught up with this movie, but I did. Great tie-back to Miss Chen, who had been discarded by her husband after so many years of hard work for a side-woman he had kept. Ni was not going to be a side-woman. Thank goodness for that waitress willing to lend Ni her clothes.

Like @magn630, I’m wasn’t sure how I got so drawn in, and then I realized that even in the first moments of the movie, the lead actress’s facial expressions offered so much emotion and it was easy to see her integrity and character. I really enjoyed watching this.

Totally spellbinding from start to finish. The saddest part of this whole movie, was that she gave him the most precious part of herself, something that she can never take back. That’s why it was so (easy) for him to let her walk away; to him she was just another conquest of his own desires.

Yes this happens. I had a very rich friend (VERY rich) who would also dress down when shopping, average clothes, no jewelry or makeup. She could have bought the store. She hated being followed and hanged onto by sales people. They would leave her alone when she looked poor. She's gone now. But she had a great ride!
I don't have problems with being hounded by sales people. Goodwill and Value Village associates don't care to follow me around. Home Depot, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Grocery Outlet employees don't bother me. Don't go hardly anywhere high end, so no problems for me. When I walk into service establishments, it's usually to get new tires or home appliance and then I do want assistants to pay attention, but don't have any problem because of my looks. Don't go to high end restaurants, either.
