I want to see NPK at Bristol again and like the NHRA race there last weekend it was very rough for the pro categories going down that track but those guys will still say, it’s one of the most historical tracks on the planet for drag racing and it’s a facility that’s got all the room in the world for all events, plus that place fills the seats with True race Fans! I believe they will resurface Bristol because it’s just A place that’s been around forever and will probably be one of the last track standing in the end, if anything was to happen with drag racing coming to an end, Which hopefully that happens

Keep doing what you do sir. I really hope that they just don't keep trying to cater to the 405. Its not the 405 show, its NPK. Best of luck going forward. Prayers for Mr. Odom.

I don’t understand how they say NPK is dead it’s not dead just changing names same great drivers. I hope with the new owner they start a small tire invitational class to run on Fri then the big tire class on Saturday then all the other classes on Sunday. That would be a great race weekend for fans would also grow the brand because small tire no prep is blowing up everywhere.

Jim Howe.....I'm not Trying to troll you at all bro I think you are a awesome drag racer....I just don't understand about the ET. you say that you run...help me understand how you and others at N.P.K can run a ET of 3.60's on a track that's supposed to be Not Prepped.
Here's my problem. The guy's at Radials vs the world like at lights out at Ducks track where Steve Fast Jackson races at....That is a very well prepped track and they are running promods on Radials and they run at a lighter weight....Well my question is how can any of the guy's at N.P.K run a ET from 3.60's to 3.80's on a track with NO PREP???? or a track that didn't get PREPPED???When the guy's at Radials vs the world just are ET of 3.50's to 3.80's on a very well prepped track????
Again Jim Howe I'm not trying to troll anyone or you I think your a very good Drag racer and you a Huge asset to N.P.K and I believe when Ryan Martin and Murder Nova other big names line up beside you they know there hands are full.
All I ask is maybe you can help me understand this because I'm having a hard time understanding it.
Good luck to you this season Jim Howe
Remember Jesus loves you and God bless brother.

Good question not a simple answer. But tonight I'll break it down for you. I'm traveling now

    • @HoweMotorsportsNPK
      @HoweMotorsportsNPK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ok. So. I'm gonna use my car as the example because I know exactly how fast I've been and have posted times and slips. So. My car in NPK Gets to be. 2775 lbs. Steel roof and 1/4s and within 3 inches of factory wheelbase.
      I've been 367 @ 210.
A radial vs the world car with my combo can be 2650. At the same o.d. or...... They can be 2725 with a 5 speed like mine and be whatever overdrive they want. And they can run a lock up convertor at that weight. Also they can be any wheelbase, and be a carbon body.
My car is purpose built for no prep. Engine location and 4 link. It would not make a very good Rvw car with its current engine placement.
We struggle on a prep surface because it's just too much bite and the car will try to drive over the tire. And shake it's self to death.
This is why we don't run on prep. So a bare surface we will all struggle. But.... a surface that's not prepped and has had a few cars down it to put some rubber down and my car is happy. The traction coefficient is built into the car and not the track. This is why a NHRA promod car would never make a decent run on radial prep. These big tires like wheel speed and if you dead hook them the car is gonna be very upset. Where as a radial tire requires dead hook and lots of chassis separation to plant that radial tire on to the sticky fly paper track. The combination of sticky surface and less rotating maas and less rolling resistance make a radial about .15 quicker in great conditions. The long promod wheelbase keeps the front end down and the extension in the rear shock drives the tire into the track and the front end down.
Obviously my background is radial racing so I took the same approach to my current car only I want the front end up to keep the tire planted and the engine back to help rotate it. That is why we can run as fast as we do in no prep once a few cars get the rubber worked in.

Makes good common sense to me. I guess if I didn't know a little bit about drag racing and how things work I probably wouldn't understand...So the ET 3.67 did you run that time with the big tires or on a Radial???
Jim Howe just want to say out of 7 years of N.P.K you are the only person that would explain this to me and I'm so glad that you took the time out to help me understand this....I really appreciate this a brother in the Lord....God bless you and be safe.

Is it going to change to pay-per-view? Because honestly, I did pay for discovery and discovery+ just to watch no prep Kings. I do love the live show on TH-cam because honestly I’m across country truck driver and I stay out four or five months at a time. No TV but I do have my iPad with apps so I love the live TH-cam, maybe between boosted and the rest of the other drivers on microphone they can bring people onto the fold on this NPK ELITE

Stay on the road 4 months at a stretch being a long haul truck driver? Sounds to me either you actually want to be away that long at a stretch or whoever you drive for sucks. No TV? I am old F#cker and I had a TV in my truck back in the 1980’s and even back then there were Truck Stops that had cable TV hooks up you got with X amount of fuel or for a couple bucks a night and most ever decent Truck Stop I have been to has a least one Television room. Lastly don’t you get a hotel room a couple a nights a week instead of sleeping in your truck I certainly used to so I could take a of all things go swim in a pool as well as sleep in a bed that ai could roll over in and be able to stand up because getting dressed and putting your pants on in the morning bent over sucks. Lastly if you have cable TV at home Xfinity and several other cable companies have streaming Apps that let you watch every channel you have a home on just purchase access to their streaming content and there are plenty of other Streaming services that give you the same content that you can get from a traditional cable subscriptions. So tell me again how you don’t watch TV while on the road. Lastly if you do want to come back home on a regular basis and you aren’t under the thumb of some Trucking company or school because they “Trained you,” or your driving record sucks then first figure out how to gain your freedom to work for who you want to and find another company to drive for that will get you home more often because there are plenty of good trucking out there that take care of their drivers and have nice well appointed trucks to drive or better yet buy a truck (something decent that won’t put you in the poor house constantly fixing it much less missing trips and set it up inside like you want to. PS if you aren’t already doing it on a regular basis you should start and that is buy a small grill and butane burner along with a few pans along with ice chest or 12volt refrigerator/coolers and cook yourself a good dinner and breakfast weather permitting because it’s a lot healthier way to eat than eating at Truck stops. Have a good day and better tomorrow.

@@gullreefclub i’m an old bastard myself I’ve been at this 43 years maybe 44 kind of retired right now the way I look at it me and the dog get paid to see the country right now. My wife is in the Philippines taking care of some of our stores and properties and she will be back in a couple months. I did have what was called epic vue shite TV and that did work fantastic. Honestly, there’s not much good on TV anymore. Yes I did like Yellowstone and a lot of things on Paramount and Paramount+ but those I can just watch on my iPad. Honestly no I don’t get hotel rooms. I have a purple mattress in my truck very comfortable, when my kids were growing up, I just worked local and was home every night but now they are all grown and have their own lives and homes so like I said I’m getting paid to see the country. Why is what you make it and honestly I got rid of social media about five years ago one of the best things I ever did for TH-cam obviously definitely didn’t go to CDL school. There was no such thing I’ve been driving since before CDL came out. I think that came out in 81 and I have a clean driver record, hazmat, tanker twic card I’m capable of doing just about anything, but I want to slow down and enjoy life

@@HoweMotorsportsNPK I am not going to comment on if I think the 200 mile rule is a good idea or not, nor any of the drama and controversy that resulted from your testing within the 200 mile exclusion zone. All I will say is regardless if you or did not gain any sort of advantage or not. All I will say is rules are rules, however I do think NPK management should put in black and white what the minimum penalties are which I think the penalties should be stiff primarily because racers by their nature only will bend or break rules as it suites if the sanctioning body doesn’t the racers will ignore the rules if they think they can gain more from ignoring the rule(s) than what the penalty costs them. As far you testing within the exclusion zone, you did and my only question about that is how with where your team is based from did you not know or at the very least suspect the track you tested at was not within the 200 mile limit or at the very least close enough to Bowling Green that further investigation wasn’t required using a Rand McNally road atlas or one of the many free mapping programs available on line.

As stated. We were racing in Columbus Ohio that week. And we thought BG was 2 weeks after Columbus and thought we had an off week between. So much so that we planned a trip to Texas the week of bowling green. As stated. I made a mistake and owned it the Monday following Columbus. All of this was covered in the video.
