    Strangely enough 42k is not the same as 2x21k. The distance yes, but the mental preparation for the event is totally different. Also the whole running crowd, the event, people cheering and everything is so amazing and worth the effort of very hard training and a very hard running event.

  • @Draddar
    @Draddar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I definitely recommend setting A, B and C goals for the marathon. I went into my first marathon with just a single goal, realised I`ll fail just after halfway mark and it was a huge mental struggle from then on. Eventually finished like half an hour slower than my goal, but determined to do better next time - and I did. There are just so many variables in a marathon, some might be less than ideal and it's really good to have the mind on your side at that point.

    Your going to do great. From the videos I've seen England has beautiful parks and trails. Get off the pavement and at least once a week go find one of your excellent trails and immerse yourself in nature. Set goals but don't forget to enjoy the experience. Regardless of the outcome you've already improved every day of training.

    Hi, and I absolutely love your channel. This is because you show that you don't have to be slim / skinny to run. This has helped me a lot to start running. I started running at the end of 2019, together with my husband. And I do it with great pleasure and always completely relax. September 2020 I ran my first half marathon 🏃‍♀️. I was so proud of myself when I walked this one (without walking through). The next day only a little pain in the thighs 🙂 but that's part of it. This year I will definitely run the half marathon again, and maybe in the new shoes 👟 Keep up your channel 👍 Greetings isa

    My first ever marathon was the Amsterdam marathon and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up doing it 3 years in a row. The whole city gets behind it and the course is great, the support is great and there has been no better experience than starting and finishing in the Olympic stadium. You have really picked a great marathon as your first! And I did it in the Wave Rider for two of those three times too, and so I can safely say you have a good shoe that will be comfortable throughout and especially in the later stages. Enjoy!

    You've got this Sarah! These videos have helped me a lot. I am an out of shape dad of young children so I decided to sign up for a marathon because I thought I needed to try something impossible. I couldn't run a mile without breaks several months ago. Now I'm running 6-7 miles at a time without a problem. My marathon is in October. I can't believe I've come this far, it's already changed my life. Thanks for making videos with "normal" people. Remember this...you want to run far...do long runs....you want rin fast..do speed work...you run slow...you will run slow on the day.Running is not complicated...ots the internet that makes it complicated.Look at your goal...and train according to that....
