Training for first. No idea what I’m doing. Do carbon plated shoes really make the difference? 12 weeks in training, up to 70+ weekly with long run of 15. I think I’m almost ready but I don’t know. Watching you guys has kept me company and informed me over the many monotonous hours and I’m thankful for that.
Hi I'm 18 (fem) and I do 5k runs a couple times a week mixed with weight+ strength training and adequate rest days according to how sore or tired I am ( esp with college workload lol) , the max distance I've done is about 10-12k I'm hoping to push for more , any advice on how to do it?
Ran my first marathon (London) aged 19 during my first year at university. Often abandoned runs for pints and went out drinking 4 days before the race. Ended up getting a time that all my friends and family still laugh at. Still got the medal though 🏅
I finished yesterday my first Marathon ever in Rotterdam. Running a Marathon is a unique experience. Luckily I watched all of your videos before. Running Channel helped me a lot all these months of my training and I would like to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. I managed to run the Rotterdam marathon in 3:55:25. My goal was a sub-4 hour Marathon and I am super excited ! Thanks again
I'm sending this to my friend who's training for her first marathon in November!! I wish I had known to carry a small bag of wet wipes just in case. The toilet paper in the port-a-potties aren't guaranteed to be in there!
I do love this channel (quality content, lovely people, good tips and a friendly community, what's not to love?) and I sure hope you hit your goal by christmas! You deserve it.

Running my first at the end of February 2023. Just finished week 3 of my 18-week plan, and am starting to geek out on the many posts and videos about first-time marathon to-dos. Thanks for the quality content!
I’ve thrown myself completely at the deep end and I’m doing the Brighton marathon on September the 12th! I’ve never ever been a runner always a cyclist! Was so chuffed as completed 12.2 miles yesterday without stopping! I find when you go into a new sport you just don’t know where to start, with routine, clothes, gear everything! I’m looking forward but also apprehensive!x
Hey Tanya, me too - my first will be Brighton. Worse though, I've been laid up with CV19 for the last fortnight, so now panicking about my training....
@@ededthebulgarianhead oh no! I’m so sorry especially when we’ve only got a month and a bit to go! My training apart from this week has been here and there as mentally making excuses! Just got to keep positive and gotta keep striving on :)
In November, I am travelling from Florida to Tulsa, OK for my first marathon, the Route 66 Marathon. I am currently in my 5th week of training and man, what a rollercoaster ride already. There are days I think I have this, and days that I think I might embarrass myself come race day. Thanks for the great videos. Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to London in October, will be my third London one, and hopefully I can get over to Toronto to do the marathon that has been covid postponed twice, it will probably be my last marathon because I’ll be approaching 60 years old 😩
I started running at 60 and my first marathon, at 64, was the London Virtual last October. Hopefully my first real VLM will be this October, two months after my 65th birthday. You’re just a youngster, mind I wish I’d started earlier!
I’ve run only 1 Marathon -2016 Gold Coast Marathon in 3:00:36. I wish I had a pair of carbon plated racing shoes rather than a pair of traditional racing flats with over 250 miles of running in them already. I didn’t have the strength in my legs and endurance to handle that mistake too well.
This brought back so many memories. Everything you mentioned is so true. The scariest for me were the black toenails and my first time getting nipple chaffing. It was my longest training run and my nipples were sore, rubbing against my T shirt. Eventually I saw they were bleeding and when I got home it was bad. Luckily I got advice from my fellow run club members on what to do. They told me about Vaseline and bandages. Something that did not really apply to me was the headphones rule. Our athletics body (which governs sports including running) have rules that ban listening devices from marathons. I think it's specifically in ear headphones and overhear headphones. Rule says you get disqualified if marshals catch you using them. To get over that, some runners bring bluetooth speakers and put them in their backpacks (hiking/trail running bags). Also I never went out too fast on my first marathon. I had a goal of sub 4 and practiced running at the correct pace. I made it at 3h59. I was so thirsty and craved salt (my body was covered in salt that I'd lost through my skin). I was so exhausted that I showered and took a nap of several hours long. Prepare to do nothing else on the day of your first marathon. No lunch with friends. No celebration afterwards. Forget about all that! You will be sore. Best thing is it gets better from then on. I since graduated to ultra marathons and the standard marathon distance is practically an easy long run.
13 weeks until my first marathon! Just hit a pb of 30k in 2h 49 min! I started running nearly 2 months ago now and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with it! Thank u for your amazing content! It helps a lot!!❤️
I am running my first marathon this April, I will be running the Boston Marathon to support Special Olympics New Hampshire! Training has officially started, I’m nervous for what lies ahead but super excited to start running with my marathon partner and for the outcome!
I always remember a sign from the expo of my first Dublin Marathon back in 2008 "There is many a day when you think I could do a Marathon but there is the rest of your life knowing you've finished one!!"
Too many comments about losing toenails! Y’all need to quit shoving you feet in teeny little shoes! Size up a size or a half. I have never experienced toe pain and I have a good inch of room for my toes.
So timely for me! Running my first ever marathon in November; started my training only a month ago. Your videos have cleared many conceptions; given loads of inspirations, tips, and above all confidence. THANK YOU!
Oh this video- like pretty much all your videos I should say- was so joyful to watch, thank you! I've been running regularly for a few years now, from 5k to 25k, but finally dared to register for my first marathon in November this year.
I wish I had known that running a pb half marathon for the first half of my first marathon wasn't a good idea! It really wasn't planned but I got caught up in the race day buzz! and how do builders manage to build an invisible wall at 20 miles in?🤔🤔🏃🏃♀️
Attempted my first marathon last year. Never considered the trails we were running would be flooded. I ended up missing the cutoff time at the half way point because I didn't train for the race day trail conditions and terrain. Lesson: research the terrain before signing up and definitely take it into account for your training. Also, prepare for worst case conditions..... just in case.
Running the Chicago Marathon and this will be the first one for me. So far so good during training. Can’t wait to get to the starting line and pray to get there healthy. Good luck to the first-timers like me!!
Love these videos!! I’m currently training for my first ever marathon in October this year. I’m running the Yorkshire Marathon for Children with Cancer UK. I’m so nervous but so excited. Thank you running channel for all your great videos and advice x
😂😂 I got so emotional I cried like a baby and the finish line medical staff kept asking me if I was ok, “Tears of joy “ I said …. “Tears of joy” . And I just signed up for the Disney Dopey challenge in January in Florida 😬😛 it’ll be my 6th full marathon.
Thank you for this wonderful channel! It's very encouraging and informative. I am going to run my first marathon in Chicago this October. I have run many half marathons but this last year has been tough. It's much harder to run with the extra Covid weight and less activity throughout the year. But I am training hard now, excited and terrified for October!
Thanks for this usefull video. I've never done a marathon yet. Very exited to run a first marathon. Will probably start with a half marathon in 2022...
Completed my 3rd Marathon on November 6th. New York City. It was the hardest of the three that I have ran. But, I loved it!! The feeling that you get crossing the finish line is so amazing. Congratulations to everyone who has ran a Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10K and 5K.
For my first marathon I ran maximum 20mile training runs. Fortunately, the Cape Town marathon had a couple of miles long slow downhill from just under 20miles. The 20-mile blues never featured. Not sure if one can select a marathon based on the profile at 20 miles, but in retrospect it helped me.
Like many commentators below I’m running my first marathon in the London Marathon in October at the relatively advanced age of 52. Didn’t help my training programme when I came off my bike in June and broke my elbow (ouch!). Really useful tips from this video - laughed out loud at the the laundry segment. I too have black toenails and sore nipples and just recovering today from my second half marathon in 8 days. Good luck to all you marathon virgins and thanks for the videos.
Nice video. Ran my first last October and the wall is no joke. I hit mine around mile 22. Those next 3 miles were brutal until I got past it. My 2nd in june was so much better with actually having a negative split in the last half.
My first (and only) marathon was really easy, I seriously couldn't understand what all the fuss was about, but the recovery over the 7 days was so debilitating I never want to do that again. Nope. Ouch, my everything.
I just did my very first marathon (Copenhagen 2022) in 04:06:28! I was hit by COVID-19 20 days out from race day :( It really hit my mental state quite hard, but luckily I had gotten all three jabs, so I was not terribly ill, but nonetheless, I really felt an impact on my overall performance! But now I'm one marathon wiser, and next year, I will break the 4-hour barrier! Really miss these videos with Anna, Rick and Kate! Where are you, guys?? Cheers
Sorry to hear you weren't well going into race day. Congratulations on completing the marathon 💪 We're sure you'll smash your goal time at your next race 😄
Thank you running channel for the wonderful tips😊 I have experienced most of them during my first marathon last year. Just to add one more, post race get ready to answer all your friends who will be asking you ‘will you be running an another one?’
So many of these things resonated with me and my first Marathon last October. Looking forward to my "real" first Marathon this October. I never imagined I would gain weight training. And that the Marathon itself was a piece of cake compared to the training beforehand.
Sitting with feet up day after my first race, smashed it, and came in 20 mins faster than my dream time!! Vegan Plant based nutrition and consistency get me to the start line, perfect weather, and a banging crowd got me to the finish!! Because of my diet, recovery will be smooth and healthy. Ready for my Spartan trifecta weekend of races in 4 weeks!
My first marathon will, I hope, be in April next year, in Canberra, Australia. Looking forward to it. I don't know how I will cope with it but the training is going well. I am aiming for 3:45 hour time. The journey is a huge learning curve for me so far. Thanks for the tips!
My first marathon is on October 10th. Manchester. 9 training weeks to go. It’s creeping up a little too fast. This channel is amazing. Without it I would be at a loss with a lot of my problems/ questions. So Thankyou !!! I’m hoping for 3:30. We shall see. 😁
After being deferred twice, this December will be my first. The 50th running of my hometown race! I've been training since last May, been injured and recovered(ish). Totally wasn't expecting how mental all of it is. Grinding out the miles is hard enough and then when you move the goalposts back 6 months, then another 6, then a full year, it'll drive you bonkers. Club training season starts one week from tomorrow, so wish me luck!
Will be running the loch ness marathon in October ,this will be the seventh time I've ran this race. I know a lot people are looking for Nessie but if they wait till mile 18 to 19 then they are on the monster, it is a 15%graded hill witch is up then flat then up then flat, it represents Nessies back it can be a game changer looking forward to it though.....love the channel
I’m 37 just quite smoking and been running 5km with my dog the last 3 weeks. I’m going to keep going and hopefully run a marathon this up coming spring.
Running my first Marathon in London on the 3rd of October. Started running and training in Oct 2019. Really starting to get a little nervous now. Hit 18 miles in Feb last year and now back up to 16. I’m a 17:stone 51 year old ex rugby player so not really the ideal build! But I’m working really hard now 3 runs a week and two gym sessions. Off out on Sat hope to hit 18 again. I could be an ideal guest for you to interview!
I want to run at least one more marathon, my last one was in 2016 and every year since I have signed up for 26.2 but I end up running a half. Now I'm 62 and I still want to finish a marathon even if I have to walk or crawl across the finish line. So all I do now is Train, Train, and Train some more. And like the TH-cam I just watched; I'm always hungry, tired, and washing sports clothes.
My first marathon in Brighton next month. Quite thrilled. Trusting the process and loving it. Just a bit struggling with the training this week as it's not easy to run with 30+ Celsius on holiday in the Mediterranean 🤪
I have to say after finishing my first marathon I wasn't at all crazy about doing it again. Don't get me wrong I felt it was an achievement and may another in a year or two, but it isn't on my must do list. One thing I do hear in nearly every video giving advice on doing your first marathon is doing start too fast, and whilst I agree with this what I would say is don't start too slow either. What I would say is have an easy pace in mind and stick to it, even if feeling like you could, well, run a marathon at the start. What you have to remember is that if you go out too slow it just means more time on your feet that you probably aren't used to, even from your training. So, there is a balance to be made, don't go off too fast, go off at an easy pace, but stick to a certain pace, if you feel as though it's too fast then dial it back and ease off long before you really pay for it. It is a balance of watching your splits and keeping an eye on what your body is feeling. I think a lot really depends on how your training has gone and how you've actually coped on your longest runs. I'd also say if you do have to walk some of it because it is too much then that's no disgrace just count down the miles and finish the race. You can use it as a learning experience and so better the next time, learning from mistakes.
I am rolling my first one at london marathon (if we can get in the country) and my training is at 24 km and it is getting more boring right now what sucks
My first half marathon is less than two weeks, looking forward to getting a few more under my belt then onto a marathon as my next goal! Nothing more exciting than hitting a distance PR
I just ran my first half marathon in July so I’m training for my marathon so I can run it early 2022! I don’t like road running as much as trail running so honestly I might do a 50k before a marathon because that’s what I did for my 25k/half. I’m running 3 times a week and lifting 3 times a week so I’m balancing speed, strength, and endurance so I hope that is doable with my schedule!
Congrats on your first half!! I did the same, skipping to trail 50ks because the thought of road marathons filled me with dread. I loved them so much I think I'll skip marathons altogether unless I find a trail one! Good luck on your upcoming races! (And it's absolutely doable on your schedule.)
The Mexico City Marathon last year inspired me to start running and now it's here again. My first marathon is 5 weeks away! Your channel has been guiding me from the beginning of this journey. Thanks for your smiles and knowledge. I have two questions. Is there any precautions or anything to do for your feet if it rains? Also I'm starting to get super anxious about getting to the starting line amongst tens of thousands of people. What if the metro is too crowded to get on or it breaks down? What if there are no taxis or Ubers or I get stuck in traffic!!
Thanks for the great advice. I'm doing the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon in December. It will be my first Marathon and although I'm not particularly looking forward to the training, I'm really looking forward to race day.
Running the Brighton marathon on 12th September (my first marathon!) Been following the running channel training plan and dare I say training is going well 🤞🏼🤞🏼
I didn't have butterflies in my only marathon attempt. Road running doesn't do it for me. I did had them in my first ultra though ... also, the chafing was incredible bad.
Yes, IT IS possible to be hungover from running. 😄 Once I was in the work 13 hours but I had training scheduled, so I went for 50min running at 10 pm. Next morning wasn't pretty. 😄🙂
Loved this video, it really made me chuckle as I just completed a marathon after an 8-year hiatus just about every point in this video was relatable including the black toes nails keep it up!
I don't like road running, so I went to trail 50ks, and wish I'd known to eat early, eat often- no matter how great you feel, how big a breakfast you had, etc. Once you're out of energy, you're constantly playing catch up. Also, all that kit you tested successfully on your long runs might fail miserably during the much longer effort on race day. Don't be surprised when you wind up buying a bunch of new gear after!
We’ve got a series built off the Peachtree Road Race (10k) called the Triple Peach , here in Atlanta. Next race is a 10 miler in October and then a half in November. It seems like it will be a good progression and a nice way to pace the training program. Just signed up for it and started my half plan today.
Much love from the So Cal! I would love it if you could do a video on setting up calories and macros for a 16 week plan and also uploading a sub 3:30 marathon training plan. Cheers!
I started a 2weeks ago with the running channel marathon training plan. At week 5 because my weekly mileage was on the same Parr at the time. And boii those speed sessions had me just enjoying my recovery days
Doing a marathon on November 28, my fourth since 2004. I can’t say I’m a marathon junky. It’s just another distance, though it requires a somewhat different approach training-wise than e.g. a half marathon. All the side effect mentioned, I can’t confirm, except for blisters and chafing. My goal this time is crossing the finish line, just like I did three time before. Only this time I won’t forget taking a few weeks off from running afterwards, which where I got injured before.
Really enjoyed this video. I am feeling nervous and excited as I'm training for my first marathon in October. I'm feeling more daunted as I am doing the virtual London marathon alone but hoping a few family and friends will meet me along my route to give me encouragement and a banana! :-)
That's amazing! Good luck with your training! I'm sure you'll get lots of support on the day and you'll probably see others out running the virtual too 😊
12 weeks to go for my 1st marathon at RnR San Diego and I just finished my first 25k. Hard to imagine to add another 17k but I did not feel worse than in my first half so progress is made. Beside a few niggles here and there I am blessed having no run related problems. That said I am already eyeing a Triathlon but I get ahead of myself ;-)
I wanna try to do a second marathon. Granted I learned so much from my first, I just sometimes fear if I can physically do it again. One big lesson is yes hydration. If I don’t drink enough water while running, let’s just say it painful when gotta use the toilet. It feels like a UTI lol. Another lesson is socks. Socks are a big key to blister prevention next to the proper shoes. Let’s keep fingers cross I can start training in 2022 for a full marathon. I’m part of the sloth team cause it takes me a LONG time to finish. My first marathon took me 9 hours 30 min cause I mostly walked it due to very painful IT band. My goal is for around 7 hours.
I have an Apple Watch (I think series 5) I am starting my marathon training (your plan) next week. ♥️ I’ve been told my Apple Watch won’t have the battery life to last the entire marathon… so that being said I want to do my entire training with the Watch I will use for the race day. What would you say is the best Watch for my marathon training/ race day ?? (Dubai marathon) I know you must get asked this lots so I’m sorry !! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I've learned that running the first 7 miles are the longest, but then every mile seems to get shorter (or time just flies by quicker). I've also learned how difficult it is to run 22 miles on a mostly flat surface and then run the last 4.2 going up and down on hills. I need to plan that course better next time. Even by running a half, I've learned about how strength workouts will help minimize risk of injury. And you mentioned the post marathon fatigue..... for me, it is just UNREAL. Because you really don't feel like doing anything else, even eating, haha So I am now about to register my first in-person race in Indianapolis for this November, and hopefully I can get a qualifying time for Boston. If not, I'm not going to stress over it, but I'll learn and look to the next race.
🤣💓Thanks for this! My first marathon is in October. I certainly identify with the feeling tired, being kind to yourself, and - I thought I was crazy- maranoia! Gosh this is the worst, also because work is supposed to return to in- person in September 😕. Thanks for this video!
I’ll be running London in October in my first mass participation race! 3rd marathon overall, looking for a pb BUT I’ll be wearing a costume for charity (possible World Record on the cards) - not putting any pressure on myself tho - just can’t wait for the experience!
Currently training for the PEI marathon in October, wish I had known before I started the importance of the taper and that one marathon leads to many more and of course ultras.
Marathons are incredible. Just remember your racing yourself and stick to you strategy. NYC in November all being well. Love the channel thank you ❤️✌️🏴
Is Anna’s dog the next new Running Channel presenter?? He has grown so much since we last saw him!!!! I am a definite running addict. Allie Bayleigh put it best…running is a gateway drug! Oh this video- like pretty much all your videos I should say- was so joyful to watch, thank you! I've been running regularly for a few years now, from 5k to 25k, but finally dared to register for my first marathon in November this year.
Glad you think so! Thank you so much 😊
Great to hear you've taken the plunge with your first marathon! Good luck with your training 😊
I wish I had known that running a pb half marathon for the first half of my first marathon wasn't a good idea! It really wasn't planned but I got caught up in the race day buzz! and how do builders manage to build an invisible wall at 20 miles in?🤔🤔🏃🏃♀️
I’m doing the London Marathon this year as a first timer.
Your content has been a great help and you guys are genuinely entertaining!!
That’s amazing!! Have fun!!!
All the best for your training and for race day, Robert!
Love these videos!! I’m currently training for my first ever marathon in October this year. I’m running the Yorkshire Marathon for Children with Cancer UK. I’m so nervous but so excited. Thank you running channel for all your great videos and advice x
Good luck for October Rebecca, we're sure you'll smash it! What a fantastic cause as well. Really glad you enjoy the videos and find them useful
Amazing! Best of luck for it!! 🥳
Thanks so much for watching! All the best for Chicago - you can do it! 💪
i’ll be in chicago, too! excited and terrified!
Best of luck! Do let us know how it goes 😊Hope your elbow is healing well!
I am so happy for this “low key” videoes,
My 18 week training plan for my first one in Valencia starts this week and I can't wait!
Haha so true! 😂
So many of these things resonated with me and my first Marathon last October. Looking forward to my "real" first Marathon this October. I never imagined I would gain weight training. And that the Marathon itself was a piece of cake compared to the training beforehand.
Best of luck! Do let us know how it goes 😊
Just signed up for Amsterdam Marathon. Thank you for this video!
My first marathon is on October 10th. Manchester. 9 training weeks to go. It’s creeping up a little too fast. This channel is amazing. Without it I would be at a loss with a lot of my problems/ questions. So Thankyou !!!
I’m hoping for 3:30. We shall see. 😁
So pleased to hear you've found our videos helpful, Wayne! All the best for your training 💪
Doing my first marathon soon in October! The 17mile long run feels much easier these days!
Feel hungry all the time, what an absolute mood 😄
After being deferred twice, this December will be my first. The 50th running of my hometown race! I've been training since last May, been injured and recovered(ish). Totally wasn't expecting how mental all of it is. Grinding out the miles is hard enough and then when you move the goalposts back 6 months, then another 6, then a full year, it'll drive you bonkers. Club training season starts one week from tomorrow, so wish me luck!
All the best Christopher! You can do this 💪💪
Training for my first marathon in Central Illinois in October.
Running hangover perfectly describes how I feel right now!
I actually laughed out loud to all of this! If one more person asks me why I am not wearing sandals I WILL GET MY FEET OUT 😆🤢🤣
Will be running the loch ness marathon in October ,this will be the seventh time I've ran this race. I know a lot people are looking for Nessie but if they wait till mile 18 to 19 then they are on the monster, it is a 15%graded hill witch is up then flat then up then flat, it represents Nessies back it can be a game changer looking forward to it though.....love the channel
Thanks so much for watching Jim! Good luck for Loch Ness!
This is spot on!!! Can't relate to the blisters but can relate to the nails falling off.
Marathon virgin. I watch Anna’s nyc vid of her marathon CONSTANTLY!!!!
Chicago in the fall baby!
It isn’t my first marathon, but I feel everything about this video in my soul 😂😂
I'm running the CM as well. It would be my first marathon and I am always tired as well. 😂🙈
11 weeks left before the Detroit marathon. I felt everything in this video LOL!
Appreciate this as I am in training for my first 26.2 😳
You guys are bloody awesome. Love ❤ your insight on the Marathon.
Thanks David!
Thanks for the great advice. I'm doing the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon in December. It will be my first Marathon and although I'm not particularly looking forward to the training, I'm really looking forward to race day.
I love your channel! Running my first marathon this coming October at age 51 and I’m scared!!
Good luck Andrea! How are you are feeling about it?
Thanks for posting this an hour AFTER my first marathon 😅😅
..but I did it! Feels pretty good, apart from not being able to walk anymore 😂
Doing the Brighton Marathon in September, my first official one. Looking forward to it and trying to get prepared!
I'm also doing it, good luck 👍🏻
@@paulmulks You too! Looking forward to it
Manchester marathon in October.....fingers crossed. Did the London virtual marathon last year in the pouring rain, what fun 😂
Running the Brighton marathon on 12th September (my first marathon!) Been following the running channel training plan and dare I say training is going well 🤞🏼🤞🏼
That's great Dan! Let us know how race day goes!
Glad you enjoyed it Jason!
I enjoy all your content very interesting seeing how different the running scene is in the UK compared to here in outback Australia
Doing Liverpool in October. I've run 2 solo marathons this year as part of my preparation.
Very sensible - best of luck for it! Do let us know how it goes 😀
All the best for race day Andy!
Running my first marathon in October!!
On my way to my first marathon! Building up strength and conditioning
Just got my best 16km for a 4'51" av pace
I have an Apple Watch (I think series 5)
I am starting my marathon training (your plan) next week. ♥️
I’ve been told my Apple Watch won’t have the battery life to last the entire marathon… so that being said I want to do my entire training with the Watch I will use for the race day.
What would you say is the best Watch for my marathon training/ race day ?? (Dubai marathon)
I know you must get asked this lots so I’m sorry !!
Because you really don't feel like doing anything else, even eating, haha
So I am now about to register my first in-person race in Indianapolis for this November, and hopefully I can get a qualifying time for Boston. If not, I'm not going to stress over it, but I'll learn and look to the next race.
Thanks so much for watching Keyo! Good luck for Indianapolis (that's my hometown, btw!)
- Mary
🤣💓Thanks for this! My first marathon is in October. I certainly identify with the feeling tired, being kind to yourself, and - I thought I was crazy- maranoia! Gosh this is the worst, also because work is supposed to return to in- person in September 😕. Thanks for this video!
I’ll be running London in October in my first mass participation race! 3rd marathon overall, looking for a pb BUT I’ll be wearing a costume for charity (possible World Record on the cards) - not putting any pressure on myself tho - just can’t wait for the experience!
Running Valencia in December. Excited & terrified. Its my first. Looking for 3hr 30min
Omg! That fridge thing is so me. Lol
Love the new hair cut Anna!
doing my first in southampton in 5 weeks time, feeling a bit underprepared :( im happy enough doing half marathons, but nervous about the step up
Currently training for the PEI marathon in October, wish I had known before I started the importance of the taper and that one marathon leads to many more and of course ultras.
Marathons are incredible.
Just remember your racing yourself and stick to you strategy. NYC in November all being well.
Love the channel thank you ❤️✌️🏴
Thanks! Good luck for November Jamie!
@@runningchannel thanks so much ❤️✌️🏴
Is Anna’s dog the next new Running Channel presenter?? He has grown so much since we last saw him!!!! I am a definite running addict. Allie Bayleigh put it best…running is a gateway drug! I am now into trail marathons and signed up a 50 mile ultra next year! Yes Andy is correct, totally forgot about the pain, but love the runners high!!!! MMMMMMM
Thanks so much Kingsley! Haha, yes Ralph is such a sweetie, isn't he?
@@runningchannel He is lovely! I will have to get another dog soon!!! A definite video on how to run with a dog is a must!! Easy to come a cropper when they stop for their stiffing stops! it has happened to me, and you see a lot of peopple running with their dogs at Parkrun. Would be a good idea for one for your videos!!??
After 2 years of doing 5ks and a couple of tenners this year, I've decided 'what the heck?' And signed up for a marathon next year. Feeling excited but also terrified! Thanks for the tips
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with your training 😊
Loving the Lemony Snicket books Anna!!!
After 14 half marathons ten years ago this is my 1st Marathon is the virtual London one this October and it’s a shame I won’t experience the crowds but I’ll do it then hopefully experience an actual event one day 🤞
Don't really run long much, so to start the long ones. Will be running my 1st Jun 2022. Brighton Trail Marathon ! Set myself mountains of run.
Sounds great! Good luck with your training 😊
I’m running my first marathon on October 3rd on my own!! It’s is the virtual London Marathon - I am so nervous. I know if I can get through a marathon on my own, I can do anything.
Absolutely you can! All the best for your training 😊 and good luck on race day!
10 days out from my first one. I can relate to sooo much of this already.
