Every kid comes up with new ideas all the time. But, there's more to innovation. After I first got in touch with computers as a kid around 40 years ago I always had such dreams, that one day technology will solve all problems, we can start working less, living and loving more. And now, 40 years later? Social injustice, wealth gap, poverty, exploitation, wars, pollution, violence, bureaucracy, multiresistant viruses, and all kinds of other long-known, self-made problems and sufferings diminished...? Nope. A quick lookup in my favorite AI search engine reveals: we (as the humanity) just increased all of that, despite using digital technologies. Maybe we just found ways to do it more efficiently. But who knows, maybe a self-learning artificial intelligence that tries to simulate real human capacities and that is owned by a small wealth elite, will solve all problems immediately. Really? Let's wait another 40 years and see what changed.🙂
I think AI will handle everything, and our last chance lies in appreciating truly great or even 'cringe' things. But is doesn't matter much bc 90% of people don't relly know what's good, they just choose what everyone around them does because they're afraid of making their own decisions and begin society excluded. People are bad at choosing because they are lazy, so in the end AI win :/
