    I can’t thank you enough for this series of videos! Picked up a G650GS the other week and am a relative beginner rider (got a TW200 in September) and 5’2”, so I was a bit intimidated by the bike. Your tips and drills made a huge difference for me vs. my first few rides before seeing your videos, and I felt like I was in total control today on my first big ride on the bike - got onto some gravel, too!

    RESPECT! I’m 6’4” and have owned a 2018 R1200GS Rallye (a true Rallye with Sport aka GSA suspension) and now a 2019 R1250GS Exclusive. Being taller, I have counted on my height to overcome most obstacles. Which, real world situations have proven inaccurate and have shown me to be more humble. Your videos confirm no matter your height/weight, you can learn things without knowing you’re actually learning! I too have leaned how to maneuver my GS with a little to no movement as possible. We all need to practice more and become ONE with our bike. Knowing how to transfer weight and understanding our bikes uniqueness are important tools to help us become better riders. Practice, even if not in an empty parking lot or under the best case scenario, is also important to overall safety and confidence. Ride on! Ride what makes YOU happy. CHEERS!

    Riding a month now, cb500x and I am 5 foot 4 so things been trivial. I dropped 2x due to bike leaning to right as left foot went to touch ground at a stop. I find I Excell at everything so far but stood have me stumped. Some are perfect others I tap dance the left foot or I have had the bike drift to the right cause my bars to turn right and my reaction to save the bike cause the fall or almost fall. I am praying I can end this, 3 rides since and haven't dropped and plenty of stop signs, but God forbid the left side of the ground is declined and I have farther reach, I go to touch left foot down and bike wants to go right or lean right cause my foot to rise on the left and bike lean to right, once that begins it's all over and bike down. Hoping to shave some out of my seat and it not kill my ride comfort but enhance the experience due to more balance and less drop fear. Thanks for the video, curious why you like to lean forward for that exercise also

    Hi Moto iKandi, I am looking for some advice please. I am a brand new rider (my only experience is the 2 day MSF course) and my husband and I are getting into adventure riding. I too am small stature (5' 2") and I am looking to buy the new KTM 390 Adventure. I think it fits me similar to the way your bike fits you. Now I really appreciate all the lessons and the motivation that you have given me (and clearly many other riders as well), that small people can ride large bikes. But I am wondering if a brand new rider can safely learn to ride on a bike like this, or if it's better to start with a smaller bike and then move up to the adventure bike after gaining more experience. Thank you for your time, and your teaching, and I love what you're doing!

    • @motoikandi
      @motoikandi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      verdon tomajko - the KTM 390 is a great bike. However, I think you should sit on many bikes and see what feels best. Having only one foot down is uncomfortable at first, but practice doing the balance drills and it will become second nature. Once you’re moving, it’s the same as any bike. The trick is keeping the bike balanced when starting and stopping on your tippy toes or only using one foot. You can do it!

      @@motoikandi Thanks so much for the encouragement. I actually decided to start with a small road bike, the BMW G310R, and then graduate up to an adventure bike once I get comfortable on this one. I really think that was the right choice for me.... and I am loving learning to ride on my little red 310!!
