      I banjo and as long as you keep plenty of mud, to do away with blisters, and keep a decent pace, you're gonna cover some rock in a day. I grew up hand taping and the banjo saved me. Closets are where I really knock time off but my theory was this, if you make the taping trip as fast as roughing in and skimming, you're doing good. Keep on keeping on buddy.

    Bazooka is a whole lot faster especially if the roller and plow on same handle hands down. Agree he’s probably not going to have adjustment problems if you don’t keep bazooka in case or in the hand of fumble fingers he’s definitely not doing 9 ft top angles. Still fast definitely not record. Recorded would be keeping 5 guys busy with one bazooka.

    • @kidjetrecon7153

      David D'sanps without a doubt mud rail that sits in buck is my fav for small jobs under fifty sheets nothing to clean up. 😂 I do know this if you’re not able to learn faster not harder this trade is very tough to make real money before your body says no way. I’ve tried over the years to be clean enough that the only sanding I need is a small sponge usually high edges after we got lax on plow or box setting adjustments. If there’s anything I hate about drywall it’s the sanding. I trace skim everything smooth if I’m involved. You know how it goes when your trying to coat five six hundred sheets. I would love to never have to do top angles. I noticed that a lot on videos from Australia. I love the freedom of drywall. I made ten times the money in the Gulf of Mexico running boats got back into drywall when my brother thought we could corner the market in 2000 running crews taxes got me and divorce 😂just didn’t corner the market the moneys in selling and working on tools.

    @chrislecompte6676 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What state do you work in? I bet you can make better wage hanging drywall if you only need 8 screws per sheet! Watching the tape coat, I notice there's very few screws in angle any in field. Pretty bad hanging job there when so few screw's yet taper still has to set so many!

    I did drywall 35 years in the USA and its very similar but i never seen that type of taping banjo i have used glazer wipe down tool before and the boxes we have change to just basic banjo taping and hand finish your bed and skim coats.

    Did I see that correct ? He's putting glue in his mud ? Also I'd like to see how quickly he does those 3/4 inch gaps on the ceiling.. great video. He's very fast. I'm a painting contractor . We specialize in repaints and a lot of sheetrock finishers corners crack pretty bad of which I have to fix . Does the glue help it not crack ? Seems like it would . Thanks

    • @Maxkil
      @Maxkil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the gap at the ceiling gets cornice, or you might call it crown molding.
      The cracking because a lot of drywallers use multipurpose pre mixed compound which is much weaker .
      Because of efficiency and they don't want it to dry out in their machines.
      Yeah the glue helps it bond.
      Similar to Bond Crete what they put into render ECT...
      It's not recommended to add the glue by the manufacturers I might add.

    Banjos work wonderfully on flat seems if you have fairly tight fitting joints and really speeds up that taping process, I'm not sure about inside corners because there's always that uneven gap that will not get filled with mud when doing it this way, better to push mud into corner gaps with a knife and then use tape or ever better a rigid metal-paper pre-formed corner bead will be more reliable even though it takes much longer I think its worth it, after all its quality drywall that is the final step that makes the walls and ceiling look beautiful in a persons house and you want it to last decades!

    Why is there a gap at the ceiling. It’s consistent throughout the house. Weird. The walls don’t seem to go all the way up and connect with the ceiling??? Why is that?

    It’s nice to do things very fast you make more money the faster you get the job done but also please make sure it’s done right. I moved into a house where all the drywall screws were coming through the mud because the drywall guys tried to go so fast they did a crappy job.

    • @Maxkil
      @Maxkil  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah just because it's fast doesn't mean it's a bad job. Seems a lot of people have that impression.
      I mean there is only one way a screw can go in. It could also be twisted framing members over time.

    I assume "hotmud" dries on 30 min's..ready for sanding ?

    • @XxMrHabanerOxX
      @XxMrHabanerOxX 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s 90,45,40,20,5 minute hot mud. Depending where you are. You would still need to coat it with regular mud at least once for a decent finish. Butts and uneven surfaces tipically require 3 coats. Depending on the hanging.

  • @kirkdunn1379
    @kirkdunn1379 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah the glazer should push tape flat and smooth it so roller isn't necessary if your results are same.....skip a step and save time
    Some always done it a certain way and it has to be that way.....not true at all in alot of trades.....if there is a better faster way and results are same, more $$$
    Think outside the box
