hey kieran have some questions in regards to rigging and might make a good video in regards to the aus standards, im a crane operator and one thing that is always in question is do spreader bars equalise and how much do they equalise, other common questions are does a rams horn equalise or stinger (head set of chains) it seems that every company or supervisor you talk to has their own idea would be good to get a concise explanation on what does equalise and how much what your opinions are and what the aus standards say in regards to equalising gear. thanks.
I was taught bow to bow unless you have some pull to the sides (opening up the shackle) eg 2 softies at 90°. I take it you’re concerned about the pin being backed out?
Bow to Bow is good, because it helps spread the load and it leaves the pin easier to access for your load, and IF you plan to use slings the pin is a better option to allow for even load across the sling 👍 But as he mentioned in the video pin to pin isn't such a great idea ??
Good to see you back with the camera-good mix of common sense and facts.
