It truly is amazing how you've come up with all these ideas And creations of new hitches and knots.. Your creativity is simply amazing.. You've showed us how to ascend and descend without any mechanical devices Great videos.. To be honest, a lot of it is very complicated and you must have lots of hours , learning knots and tying hitches , But I believe once you understand and have much experience this will come easier ..i have some experience, not much but im learni g and find ur videos crucial if were in the business of hunting or cutting trees , this is extremely valuable..ur are a very intelligent man, and u obviously are very dedicated to learning am improving ur knowledge and ours , with ropes and and paracord ..tha ks for the time and effort u put into this educational videos ..

I appreciate that. I believe that if you and I had lived our entire lives wearing slip-on shoes and had never seen a shoe with laces before... and then for the first time, we watched someone tie their shoe, well, we would be pretty impressed. Of course, we have all committed that knot to memory when we were just a kid. I have simply spent a bit more time on the topic and learned a few things along the way. Sharing the info seems like a win-win proposition for all involved. Your appreciation motivates me. Cheers.

Thanks so much for sharing. Your heterodox thinking and practicality in practice, on these topics is moving many to a safer and yet more efficient experience.
Really like your stuff on TH-cam as I am not on Facebook

Thanks for sharing your wealth of wisdom. This is my first-year saddle-hunting and you are absolutely spot-on about the difficulty of prusiks. I will be making use of the double mich for starters and plan to eventually incorporate the JRB Hitch + Double Mich into my system. God Bless you and your family. PR

Double meech works great. Also take a look at the playlist for the JRB Ascender. I am using the 523 on all my 6mm cords on 8mm ropes

Any chance you can do this on a single rope? Love the vid. Thanks for this!

That IS a single rope. I think you're trying to ask: if i build this with my existing rappel line, it's not long enough to reach to the ground on both sides. So can i use a separate or smaller cord for the release line? The answer is absolutely. Simply tie everything the way i did, but instead of a strand hanging down to the ground as the release line, you just had a couple of feet with loop on the end. Just attach your release cord to that Loop and everything will work exactly the same. I will inform you that the hitch goes around the tree twice, and so it will consume more rope than a conventional tether. However, it's also much more stable.
