Oh, I’ve been watching Karl and Ricky and Steve for decades
Karl definitely explores his body and identity more in Moaning of Life. The guy who was afraid to hug Celso and didn't wanna wear a pair of tight trunks at the beach in the first series definitely goes on a journey and grows his confidence by the end. The Karl you hear in the XFM shows and the podcasts, and then in the first series of Idiot Abroad, to the Karl you get by the end of Moaning of Life is massively different

You can’t fly direct from London to Sydney - yet. Takes almost 24 hours so out of range to do without refuelling. You have to change in Middle East or Far East so it’s common to stop for a day or two.

Karl's the same age as me, and when it comes to this sort of thing we're both happy to live under that rock. As for sharks, remember the UK has no man-eating/man-attacking species of sharks in our waters. That influences the way we see these wonderful creatures.

Watching Jaws made me scared of being in the sea/ocean. A British guy died via a shark attack just last month off the coast of Sydney, Australia - the first in 59 years. They even had nets and other deterrents to ensure sharks wouldn't be in those waters but it still happened. There's always that chance that it could be you and I don't roll the dice. (I don't do rollercoasters, I don't fly on planes etc.)
If my feet can't touch the ground then it's too deep and a "No" from me. That being said, I would like to go down in a shark cage to face my fear... although if a shark attacked the cage then it'd probably make it worse! lol

I’ve been shark cage diving in Port Lincoln. It’s really not that bad if you prepare by taking kwells/anti-sea sickness meds before getting on the boat. You have to drive for a couple of hours south from shore to Neptune Island so you’re away from people. Also there’s a colony of ?sea lions/seals that live there that the great whites prey on. The cages are very strong and the sharks can technically get their noses in the viewing gap but their jaw is so far back that it can’t get inside the cage. The crew will throw tuna biscuits attached to rope out into the water and drag them towards the cage so the sharks will chase the biscuits - this is why the sharks sometimes crash into the cage and it’s exciting. You have rails inside the cage to hold on to so Karl was being a real chicken honestly. That shark he saw was just swimming around waiting for food/bait and chilling out.
Yous need to get through these. I love these watchalongs. Absolutely hilarious.

It's Thai new year, Songkran, the water is a ritual blessing, turned into fun and shenanigans by the locals!
When going to NZ from the UK and other way round I used to stop at Hong Kong as it was a perfect half half time and I used to live in HK before moving to NZand I loved being there for a bit

I worked for my local council for years, a customer used to come in daily, he was a transvestite, dressed up in all the gear, was so butch and aggressive to us all. Stunk of piss and pissed on the chairs all the time, was so horrible but demanded us to call him/ her a lady. You act like a lady wether you were born male or female, I’ll call you a lady if you bloody well act like one.

I have to say as a trans woman I dread when youtubers get to this reaction. I’m so happy you guys where so accepting of Vivienne. I love Karl in this episode because whilst what he says is slightly problematic it comes from ignorance and acceptance. He sees us and we challenge his world view and rather than reacting with hate he reacts with love and kindness and as a community we need more of that. We can’t expect everyone to get it right upon first seeing us, and he doesn’t. But he sees us as human beings struggling like the rest of you. And I thank you guys for being so accepting too. You’ve earned a subscription with this reaction. Thankyou for being and ally when we’re sorely lacking them. I hope your channel grows and grows, you’re awesome and I only found you two days ago. We're not all going to understand each other and are going to have to agree to disagree sometimes. We minimally should try to be as polite and respectful of each other as possible. Treat others the way that you want to be treated. Karl was doing that while being honest and so were Vivienne and her friends. That's why I agree with you. I do think that he should have shaved and they could have picked out a better dress for him. He would have actually looked like a woman then. Maybe the show wanted him to look the man that he did! Lol

It’s a lot harder to do that when you meet them with an open mind, and realise they’re just normal people.

A shark attack is a shark attacking...doesn't matter if it's to defend its home. If we use your logic there wouldn't be any bear attacks either. But you are right that these animals are just being animals. There is nothing evil or malicious about it. You are on their turf so don't look like a seal and don't startle them because that will get you into trouble real quick.

Well in Thailand and other areas of Asia they have always been more open minded about cross sexuality and just get on with it.
