I know. Just think though men like him are sadly dissappearing. Can you imagine what todays millennials and gen z are going to be like when they reach their elder years? The clips of Ned and his family having dinner and saying grace is what life is all about.
@@garywells1294 For the longest time, I only knew of him as a voice of NASCAR, and Dale's father. Finally, one day I saw a highlight reel of Ned's career, including the 1965 championship. It was before my time. That's the year my parents got married.
Dang I love listening to Ned Jarret. Always like a grandfather spirit. Classiest announcer that'll ever be. Wish we could relive the ESPN days 1pm start times with Bob, Benny and Ned!
I really, really want guys like Ned Jarrett to record as much of these stories as they can, while they can. This stuff is what makes NASCAR so fun and guys like Ned Jarrett made it what it is today. I could listen to him tell these stories for days!
He was a big part of my childhood as I watched him on ESPN, CBS and his weekly gig on TNN with the Late Steve Byrnes on the original "Inside Winston Cup Racing".
Very few people in life and especially in sports where you never hear a bad word said about them and I dont think I've ever heard a negative comment about Ned. Not only that but he helped raised a great family which I've rarely if ever heard anything bad about them, says a lot about the Jarretts
Awesome interview! I learned so much and really enjoy seeing how much you enjoy talking with Ned and Dale Jarrett. You ask great questions and make it fun to watch. Thank you Kyle!
Those were real men back then. Ya had to win to eat, pay back money, fix your car and limp to next race to try again. Hats off to Ned and those like him!
Honestly, Ned and Dale Jarrett are one of the greatest father-son duos in NASCAR history. Between them, they have a combined 82 wins, 348 top 5 finishes, 499 top 10 finishes, 51 poles, and 3 cup championships (Ned was the 1961 and 1965 Grand National Series Champion, and Dale was the 1999 Winston Cup Series Champion)
God Mr. Ned Jarrett is such a sweet man and one of the best ever to grace the oval tracks of america. Miss hearing him in the booth. He hasnt changed even in his elder years and I would still prefer to hear him and Ken Squire over todays announcers. Ned is a true man who is devoted to family and dedicated to his passions and he and the Mrs raised a good family. Miss seeing DJ on the track too. Seems like 1998 was only yesterday. God bless the families and fans of NASCAR. We cant let this pure Americana sport die out.
NASCAR has messed up the series with almost everychange they've made. Template cars, stage racing, really? I've gone to IMSA and other sports car series, at least they still look like real cars.
Met Dale at a racing show in Valley Forge, PA back in the late 80's. Got our photo taken (me and my wife), what a nice guy. Everything spoken about him is true. And he Loves our Lord Jesus Christ! God Bless you Ned Jarrett.
I still have a corner of my man cave dedicated to Dale Jarrett. I stopped watching regularly after he retired, but man the battles he was in! Right in the middle of the Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin points race that's so talked about. 3 Daytona 500s, the Brickyard 400, Coca-Cola 600. 32 wins and a gentleman the whole way. 👏
Ned Jarrett, Dale Jarrett awesome. Met both of them at the Race Shop when Dale was driving that Busch series car. The Band-Aid car. Newton, NC Nice people and a Class Family all around. Liked Glenn's commentating also. Ned Jarrett and Ken Squier in the booth were the Best IMO..
Ned was the face of the sport for me for years...his weekly tv magazine syndicated show was one of the first that allowed me to follow the Sport as a Northerner. I met him several times out and about before races and always the gentleman.
John Douglas Racing Video John I’m a 50 yr fan & back in the day a terrible crash Ned pulled out Fireball Roberts at darlington FR passed away a few days later but Ned’s hands were awful (Thats why he always conceals the left hand because his fingers burned off) what a great man Ned really is.
There was a television commercial back a few decades ago that UPS had running about Dale racing the "Brown Truck." One of those commercials had a setting of being in a diner somewhere. Ned speaking with Dale and it ended with Ned telling/asking Dale about having a piece of pie. It was classic 1990s television advertising involving NASCAR. I looked through TH-cam to find it and if someone could find it, I would love to see a link to the YT video clip. Thank you in advance.
I enjoyed this video as much as anything I can recall in a long time. I’ve renamed Kyle “itchy” because he seems to have a real hard time with patience but her let Mr Jarret talk and what you have is Racing Gold
Back in those days for 14 years I was the chef at Gene's steakhouse what great gentleman they were and are and Kyle Petty would always stop by on his way out and thank me I remember he was very tall so he would stay above the rest of the crowd and wave give me a thumbs up or just come up and thank me what a great time
I abandoned NASCAR years ago after being a devoted fan - it seemed to become a commercialization-first and racing second sport - combined with a reality-show emphasis on off-track conflicts. I'm glad I happened across this series of Kyle Petty interviews. I'm binge-watching the series - and It has re-kindled my interest in NASCAR.
Ned Jarrett is to NASCAR what Keith Jackson is(was) to college football. My first race I ever attended was 1998 Diehard 500 @ Talladega. Dale Jarrett won it and I also was at his final win in 2005 there. LEGENDS!!!
Given that he’s pushing 90, Ned looks really good. His voice is a little weathered and not quite the buttery smoothness he had in the 80’s and 90’s, but it’s still that same calm, relaxing voice. Either Ned or Barney Hall has to be the Vin Scully of NASCAR broadcasting.
looked at some of these comments and nobody can see anything but positive about the Jared family. and Kyle don't know if you read this thank you you're very important to the sport .
I have recently discovered this program, and I love hearing the stories. I was just a kid and of course Richard Petty was my hero. If there had not been a Richard Petty I don't believe I would have ever been a Nascar fan. I wished they would race cars today like they did back then. Back then it was more about the driver than the car. Today they're all cookie cutters race teams. It's all about the car now. Racing at 160 miles an hour and and the driver was a big part of winning the race was much more fun to watch. NASCAR is the only sport that seems to be going backwards. It just ain't what it used to be
Why does dale look older than his dad? I don’t think folks realize how impressive it is that ned is that articulate approaching 90. I mean his son looks like he could be his older brother for Christ’s sake.
There's nothing to me more entertaining than old-school NASCAR stories.
Gentleman Ned, a real role model and family man. It doesn’t get any better than that.
I know. Just think though men like him are sadly dissappearing. Can you imagine what todays millennials and gen z are going to be like when they reach their elder years? The clips of Ned and his family having dinner and saying grace is what life is all about.
Loved hearing him call the races!! He was a great driver too!!

Those stories were awesome. Always have loved the jarretts, they are pure class. Can’t wait for part 2!
It's awesome to see Ned and Dale Jarrett alive and well and I don't know how old Ned is but he looks great.AWSOME GOD BLESS
I absolutely love how proud Ned and Dale are of each other! Almost like great friends instead of father and son.
I really, really want guys like Ned Jarrett to record as much of these stories as they can, while they can. This stuff is what makes NASCAR so fun and guys like Ned Jarrett made it what it is today. I could listen to him tell these stories for days!
Thanks Kyle, Dale, and especially Mr. Jarrett.
Ned Jarrett calling a race is like Vin Scully calling a ball game. He played a very important role in the growth of the sport
He was a big part of my childhood as I watched him on ESPN, CBS and his weekly gig on TNN with the Late Steve Byrnes on the original "Inside Winston Cup Racing".
Totally. Miss hearing him, Buddy, BP, Squire.
Now one of the best moments in NASCAR is when Ned Jarrett called his son winning the 1993 Daytona 500
Love the Jarrett family, they show so much class to NASCAR. Both great racing legends.
Those were real men back then. Ya had to win to eat, pay back money, fix your car and limp to next race to try again. Hats off to Ned and those like him!

its the dale and dale show and you know who im pullin for...gatta love it

I find these shows hosted by former drivers talking with other drivers and motorsports people far more entertaining than the actual sport now.
NASCAR has messed up the series with almost everychange they've made. Template cars, stage racing, really? I've gone to IMSA and other sports car series, at least they still look like real cars.
And going the wrong way, making the cars easier to drive.
Ned and Dale were class NASCAR drivers. Glenn was a pretty good NASCAR broadcaster on MRN Radio.
This has become my favorite series on TH-cam to watch for NASCAR content. Well done Kyle Petty and NBC Sports.
I'm to young to have watched Ned race, he was ALWAYS my favorite announcer, I hope he's happy, healthy, n contended.
I’ll never stop getting chills when I hear Ned call dales daytona win.
Met Dale at a racing show in Valley Forge, PA back in the late 80's. Got our photo taken (me and my wife), what a nice guy. Everything spoken about him is true. And he Loves our Lord Jesus Christ! God Bless you Ned Jarrett.
Would love to go out fishing with these guys. I could listen to their racing stories all day long.
Ned Jarrett is one of my favorite American sports personalities of all time.
I still have a corner of my man cave dedicated to Dale Jarrett. I stopped watching regularly after he retired, but man the battles he was in! Delightful. Three of my favorite people. Well done.
Love hearing ol' timer tales! Ned's got some good 1's
Ned was the face of the sport for me for years...his weekly tv magazine syndicated show was one of the first that allowed me to follow the Sport as a Northerner. I met him several times out and about before races and always the gentleman.
That might be the most about Ned's early years I've ever heard. Great job!
John Douglas Racing Video John I’m a 50 yr fan & back in the day a terrible crash Ned pulled out Fireball Roberts at darlington FR passed away a few days later but Ned’s hands were awful (Thats why he always conceals the left hand because his fingers burned off) what a great man Ned really is.
dale and ned are the nicest guys ive ever met
Enjoyed every minute of the show. Thanks
If I had to choose another grandfather, I would want Ned Jarrett. He is a godly role model with lots of wisdom and kindness.
There was a television commercial back a few decades ago that UPS had running about Dale racing the "Brown Truck." One of those commercials had a setting of being in a diner somewhere. I really hope NBC takes over all of NASCAR coverage.
Pure gold.
0:48 yes N. Wilkesboro.. come on bring it back!!!
Love this series with Kyle Petty
Hi Dennis how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.
truely a great interview !!!
Tons of respect for Ned.
I enjoyed this video as much as anything I can recall in a long time. I’ve renamed Kyle “itchy” because he seems to have a real hard time with patience but her let Mr Jarret talk and what you have is Racing Gold
Priceless..
Wow how I miss Ned and that voice. You both look great!
I sure miss Ned! Benny and Bob
Dale's face is just screaming PROUD
Back in those days for 14 years I was the chef at Gene's steakhouse what great gentleman they were and are and Kyle Petty would always stop by on his way out and thank me I remember he was very tall so he would stay above the rest of the crowd and wave give me a thumbs up or just come up and thank me what a great time
Joe Weatherly was my favorite racing car driver, then after, it's Richard Petty. Ned is an icon of NASCAR!
Hi Kenneth how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.

Excellent!
Wonderful interview . Loved the stories.
Thanks for sharing. I grew up with Dale.
Hi Greta how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.

Thank you kyle dale ned my hreos.
I do remember a time when they lived in Kirkover Hills outside of Camden almost Lugoff really.
Hi Sam how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.
I'll never forget the day Ned was in the booth announcing his son as the Daytona 500 winner!
Switched drivers twice and won the race 😎
Kyle, you are an excellent host!
Keep doing this!!!
I loved when Ned Called The Daytona 500 and his son won it ✌️
Great story.... thanks
Amazing stories
looked at some of these comments and nobody can see anything but positive about the Jared family. and Kyle don't know if you read this thank you you're very important to the sport .
Awesome

The Jarrett family >
Great stuff
"But he won by 14 laps, which is a record that'll never be broken"
"Yeah I had em covered that day"
Love that lmao
How did Dale get so old? Ned looks no older than he did 23 years ago when I saw him in Dawsonville.
Imagine if Dale Earnhardt could sit down to Coffee with Kyle?
And with Neil Bonnett if he surrived like Andy Farr in 1994.
This kind of class no longer exist .. Jarretts are a class
12:05 - is that Milburn Stone, aka "Doc Adams" (Gunsmoke) in the picture with Ned? Sure does look like him.
Good eye, you're right it is him.
I saw him there too! Good ole Doc Adams!
Kyle has finally found something he can do well
Hi how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.
There's nothing better. ...
Always liked Ned. I'm surprised to hear ol' straight laced Ned was in a poker game, much less winning an interest in a race car.
Where's the link to that old Jarrett family video?
Hi Joe how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.
great stories always enjoyed all three of them but there is absolutely no excuse for a man bun!!!
Why does dale look older than his dad? I don’t think folks realize how impressive it is that ned is that articulate approaching 90. I mean his son looks like he could be his older brother for Christ’s sake.
Dale's 63 and Ned is 87 i don't know
Great to see Ned Jarrett. ............I never did like Big Nose Dale Jarrett though lol.
Where's Jason Jarrett?
These older drivers had class! Nowdays... there is no class in Nascar
Yup....that was racing....not so today.
like the show but too short watch Joe Rogan interviews need to be 2-3 hours for the fans
There's three championships between the two of them.
What's with the coffee......are the bars closed?
I would not want to be a person that gave Junior Johnson a bad check. Just saying.
You when he was racing, I didn’t like Dale Jarrett. Thought I like him on broadcasts. I wish they used him more
My comment on K Petty...
If you can't say anything nice the just don't say anything at all.
Where’s Seinfeld?
Hi how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are.
Ned don’t sound or look good at all I pray he survives for more years but it’s great to hear these story’s of how it was comparing eras
It is really sad to see how bad Ned is looking.
Part of getting old but at least he's still around too tell stories and so fourth
Yo Kyle get rid of the man bun
Dude, he's had that ponytail before man buns were a thing.
They really cheated back then, but you don't hear about it.
I lost interest in NASCAR after DJ retired.
Ditto. He was my favorite driver. I met Joe Gibbs at Daytona when DJ drove for him. Joe & DJ just class acts.
